God damn, I wish I could be that rude to customers and not get fired

The clerk here (older dude, long beard, braids) made me and another customer uncomfortable while talking on the phone. He was talking about the Black Lives Matter movement and how they "made themselves a political party". He then proceeded to talk about the fella in front of me after he left, saying he "clearly didn't agree" that Black Lives Matter were "bad actors" and that they should never have come to Portland. I do not like this fella, and if you have one whit of social awareness, you should not come to this store.

Much better than the nearby burnside location. It’s actually open during it’s stated hours and all the staff have a sense of humor

Tim, and every other evening (3rd shift) associate is so kind and patient. Though, not far from burnside and grand plaid, it is a WORLD of difference. I appreciate all y’all. Working 3rds, especially at a connivence store is hard, dedicated work. Truly admirable staff at this location. Oh and plaid has decent deals if y’all didn’t already know. I wouldn’t go to them other than being 24/7 if they didn’t have decent prices. That being said I go 24/7 as it’s close to my dwelling and fairly priced and again a friendly crew always greets me.

Walking in to my local Plaid Pantry is like walking into a friend's house. I have a great report with all the cashiers and they not only know my name, they also know what I'm likely to buy and often have it ready for me at the counter when I walk in the door. More than once, I was finishing a phone call in my car and when I walked in, I said hello, and there was my favorite beer and cigarettes on the counter. It's not a huge deal, but it's little things like that that ensure that I will never go anywhere else. Thanks guys!

so there's this neighbor named Carl. He is very scary, drinks a lot, and spends 50% of every day screaming racist, homophobic, or transphobic things at the top of his lungs. The other 50% of the time, he hangs out in the shadows of our basement laundry room and storage area, staring at women and getting within inches of them as they try to do their laundry. There was an altercation between the Black woman and Carl at the Plaid Pantry on NE 28th and Flanders. The Police were called by the Plaid manager... I bet you can guess on who. The Black woman, because she punched Carl. The Police did not bother to investigate what happened before beating on this woman and shoving her in the back of the car. Carl was feigning that she had injured him and that he needed an ambulance. He wanted to press charges. Witnesses, whom the cops did not talk to, said he was screaming the N word at her.Oh yeah, he also had a huge shank with a 6" blade and another knife on him.Carl was not arrested. Fire & rescue helped him to an ambulance. He had no visible injuries from the 5'1", 110lbs woman's *ahem* assault. The woman they did arrest started having a panic attack in the car. They called first for more backup (making it now five police for this little woman), and only then for medical help as she screamed "I can't breathe!" They did not wait for the medical help to arrive because they didn't like being confronted and filmed by those around. Her sister was there and yelling at the Police, very distraught. She was so upset that when the police left, she knocked over a sign and an (empty) trash can. PLAID PANTRY THEN CALLED THE POLICE ON *HER*. It took them 3 seconds to pick up the sign and trash can.Anyway, we got 86ed from Plaid for life after screaming at the racist Plaid manager. The other woman got away. The woman they arrested is not being charged with assault, which is what she was arrested for. Clearly, on further examination, the Police realized they had no case against her. She is being charged with Theft II by Plaid Pantry, for damaging merchandise in the altercation or something.DO NOT GO TO PLAID PANTRY. THEY ARE RACIST. THEIR CEO IS A HUGE TRUMP DONOR.ACAB. This is why you NEVER CALL THE COPS. EVER. 100% never is there is anyone Black present.

The folks that work there are EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I didn't get the guys name but he is an older white male with a red beard... I will NEVER GO BACK. He gave me bad info when I called the store and wasted my entire lunch break due to that bad info. AND THEN WAS EXTREMELY RUDE ABOUT HIS MISTAKE. Instead of apologizing and trying to remedy the situation. I left all of my items on the counter and walked out. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE. Their store was unorganized, cluttered and had random boxes everywhere. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT- GET IT TOGETHER...

Listen if you don't like the public but maybe don't accept a job that deals with the public. I don't really feel like I should have to put up with someone's attitude just to buy a couple snacks. I don't care if you smile or not but the customers shouldn't be made to feel like they are inconveniencing the cashier to buy something at the convenience store. I'm surprised Plaid Pantry has let this go on for so long.

I use this plaid all the time. I live close and Paul and Troy always try to joke around with everyone. When I moved here I mentioned it to Troy and he was the first person that said welcome and told me where to eat that was close. Love that there is always music playing. It's clean and they make sure that it's safe. This is definitely a neighborhood store and I for one love that it is.

The big heavy metal guy works in the evening always acts annoyed when we're in there or when he rings us up. I have no idea why, always kind and respectful to him. You don't even have to be friendly just don't act like we woke you from your bed and asked you to come up and ring in our purchases. Go work in a warehouse if u hate your job and can't be semi professional. Good deals but I'll never go back. He makes me too uncomfortable. Luckily I can just go across the street
