They have gotten more expensive than a lot of the other small shops now though. Still glad to have them in the neighborhood and they have a larger backstock of full cases and toys than most small shops, plus they will do special orders. They do case discounts too

Cuttle Fish and Corals
6363 SW Capitol Hwy, PortlandCuttle Fish and Corals is a one stop reef aquarists dream. Pete helped me get my tank up and running. He was able to get me up to speed after fifteen years away from the hobby. He and all the crew there are knowledgeable about what can benefit your system. As I brought my system online I had a green hair algae bloom that was out of control. Pete pointed me to the hungriest of critters to help me control the bloom. I always know I'm getting the best answers when I shop here!

Our sweet pup loves to play and talk and people who don't know dogs well can be concerned by her. This is the first time I have seen our pup play with people other than my husband and I. It was absolutely refreshing to know in a crazy busy place like Portland that there are wonderful and kind individuals who do an amazing job at connecting with their customers. As a dog mom this absolutely warmed my heart that they both took the time to get to know our sweet puppygirl. Thank you so much for a splendid experience!

Good Dog PDX
1411 SE Stark St, PortlandWhat a great spot! My partner and I wanted to let the dogs blow off some steam this afternoon. We found the Good Dog and made an easy reservation. The location was easy to find with other interesting shops nearby. Eric helped us check in and showed us to the space. It's a open, rubber matted space that was clean and well lit. There was shelving that held an assortment of toys for Betty and Shoba to try out. They chased balls and played tug for 30 minutes, tongues were lolling and they drank bunches if water. We bought the toy Betty loved the most, a super bouncy cube with rounded corners. We can't wait to go back with friends!

His attitude towards the vet has never been the same. I called the vet up and asked him how much for a nail trim. They told me $149. outrageous. so we started looking for a groomer and found Marlyna's. They were absolutely wonderful. I would highly recommend Marlyna's.

OREV, Specialty Vet Care
7637 SW 33rd Ave, PortlandI really, truly do not have enough nice things to say about OREV. My kitty Remi was diagnosed with cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma in October, and on our new vet's reccomendation we chose OREV to see what our options were. Remi had this wound for 2 years, and unfortunately the chain vet we were taking her to prior to our new one did not test for this cancer and it went undiagnosed for a long time.
From the jump, Dr. Collette and all of the surrounding staff were SO compassionate, understanding, and clear. I was given a few options, and all of them were laid out clearly. All of the questions I asked were answered kindly, without judgement. When we chose a treatment plan, we were able to see Dr. Collette often to make sure Remi was handling the medication okay - she was a senior cat, so they took extra care with her.
Dr. Collette kept photos on her phone of Remi's tumor to track the progress, which I thought was above and beyond. She took as much love and care with Remi as any pet parent would want.
Sadly, Remi's treatment did not work, through no fault of OREV's. It was just her time. Dr. Collette was honest with me when I asked what Remi's quality of life looked like without treatment, and provided answers I needed to make my decision. When the service I used for euthanasia reached out to OREV to notify them of Remi's passing, they sent me a card signed by Dr. Collette and all of the staff. It made me cry, but it just further cemented to me how fantastic these people are. I am so glad I entrusted Remi's care to them.

Dog Adventures Northwest
5829 SE 50th Ave, PortlandI cannot recommend Dog Adventures NW enough. Mindy, Clara and Jackson have all been incredible to work with.
We have two dogs with really different needs. For overnight sitting, it's been hard to find someone that we can trust given that one of our dogs is not only reactive but has quite a few health issues. I know that he's in great hands with Clara—we can't even say Clara around the house without them running to the door and getting excited. Our dogs trust her and love her, it's hard not to get jealous! She's incredibly patient and you can tell that she really loves spending time with them and it's mutual.
Mindy has been absolutely amazing with our other pup who goes out on adventures. It can take a minute for her to warm up to new people but she waits at the door every Monday for her pick up—so excited to spend the day with her friends. She does a great job of bringing her out of her shell, encouraging play and working on her other skills.
We have full trust in DANW team of trainers, knowing that they promote force-free and positive reinforcement training and treat our dogs like their own. I wish we could give them 10 stars.

I had gone through other training companies before and nothing seemed to work. Khloe was a biter, very anxious, and very reactive to anything that moved. After our 4 week stay Khloe is now able to walk past dogs and squirrels with no issues, she obeys the commands given and walks without pulling when needed. Khloe now has a little puppy in our household which she is able to play with and love with no reactivity! This was such a great experience for both her and I! Not only did she learn so much but I have too. Thank you to kindred dog training for giving my life back as well as khloe! We are far from done with training but your program has given us the resources and training to continue to grow together.

DogConnectionPDX Daycare & Boarding
7515 N Mississippi Ave, PortlandDog connection is our preferred daycare in the north Portland area. The owner is very knowledgeable about dog behavior and care and always communicates how our dog was during his time there (unlike some other daycares in which you're expected to pay extra for any information about their day, which is a little much and feels very impersonal). He gives helpful suggestions as well which is a great indicator that he not only knows and understands our dog but actually cares about his wellbeing. Additionally, our dog has some medical issues that the owners have dealt with in stride and we are truly so appreciative of them for it. I highly recommend this business as you can really trust that your dog is in good hands!

George & Friends Dog Training Portland, Oregon
15320 NW Central Dr Suite 320, PortlandThis was a couple of months back but Risa helped us so much with our little doggo Toby! We were at a lost on how to train him more as we wanted to bring him with us everywhere we go, but he was way too anxious and would constantly bark and panic when outside. Risa gave us a lot of insight into why Toby felt the way he did, and showed us great examples of how to train him. She also took note when he was done, and never pushed him beyond that, and told us to do the same.
We've followed all her trainings the past months and I'm so happy to say Toby is a much more confident pupper than I ever expected him to be! He walks confidently in unknown areas, and by using the "yep" commands well, he's been starting to bark less at people. He loves going outside now! We've been able to bring him to so many places, it's like he's no longer that scared and anxious pup I once saw! He still has much to go, but my family's so happy we can bring Toby now on our adventures. Thank you so much for your help and great training, if we get stuck again and plateau, I'll be sure to call once more :) Great training place everyone!

La Osita PDX
1515 -A SE 122nd Ave, PortlandLa Osita off 122nd in Portland is a hidden gem for Mexican food lovers. I ordered the carne asada burrito, and the flavors were absolutely phenomenal—far superior to your average carne asada burrito. The tortilla was grilled to perfection, adding a delightful texture to every bite. However, I found the size of the burrito a bit underwhelming. For the price, it felt small and heavy on the tortilla compared to the filling.
The burrito included some tasty garnishes and sauces. While the habanero sauce was flavorful, its thick consistency made it tricky to use on the go. The green and chipotle sauces had unique flavors that didn’t quite resonate with me, but they might appeal to others.
The wait time was around 12 minutes despite the steady flow of customers, which speaks to the popularity of the place. Despite the lack of signage, this spot clearly draws a loyal crowd. Overall, La Osita offers fantastic flavors and quality food, though the portion size and sauce utility could be improved.

We split two pies between three people, the pies were certainly on the petite side. The Hot Honey Pepperoni was the group favorite but the Truffle Mushroom was also nice. Their Apple Salad was refreshing and a good start to the meal while the Tiramisu was a good boozy end to it. Ambience is as cozy as can be. Perfect for a hangout or a date night.

Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, so great for any weather. Two of us had trouble deciding, so we got a starter of crunchy corn straws drizzled with deliciousness, a taco plate with one of each of the fillings, a Boing juice and of course a horchata. Omg y'all, the horchata is dessert in a glass. Sweet and cooling like cinnamon toast over ice. Friendly service happy to explain the options. While the menu isn't extensive, it can be almost overwhelming as a vegan to be able to order anything! Filling options included tofu, jackfruit, and soyrizo based options. The salsas were all fresh and flavorful.

18960 NW King Rd, PortlandWe recently adopted Prada & Gucci from King Rabbit MicroSanctuary. It was an awesome experience. The bunnies are so loved and cared for there, Michele was very helpful. I would highly recommend adopting a bunny from here!

rose city hedgehogs APPOINTMENT ONLY
SE 182nd Ave, PortlandI had the best experience getting my new hedgie baby! Niki is very knowledgeable and kind, always ready to answer questions when we had them. You can tell she really works with bonding for the hedgehogs too. Millie was more bonded to Niki in the short time she raised her than I am even right now, as of May 8, 2024.. I named my hedgehog Millie, and she is just the sweetest little girl. I didn’t purchase the supplies for Millie through Niki, but she still made sure I had everything. Thank you Niki for a smooth and easy experience purchasing my hedgie! I just adore my little Millie!

Oregon Humane Society
1067 NE Columbia Blvd, PortlandPosting here so.people.see.
5 stars for the human society....
A new.non profit called Array animal.Rescue is operating in the area and they almost just lost my furbaby....
They claim to help people facing homelessness but should not be trusted with a rock, let alone an animal.
Do not work with them.
Do not trust them.
Here is what happened...
They picked her up at 9 a.m. today.
By 8/9 p.m. they had lost her.
The foster, Phoebe, didn't make sure her yard was secure and she didn't bother to use a leash even though Maggue was stated as being "very upset and confused of where she was"
Her water and food bowls had not been used.
Had I not gone to look for her she wouldn't have been found for the person looking for her had a known to be aggressive pitbull mix who I am told previously attacked a rescue puppy off leash trying to look for her.
If you are struggling do not trust Array Pet Rescue. They don't have basic common sense and will lose your dog. I reported them to the Oregon DOJ. And I will tell every animal rescue and houseless help facility within 100 miles of portland.
