Our puppy Benny stayed with Ashley for 2 weeks for a training program and he learned so much! Ashley did a great job teaching him valuable lessons, our favorite of which being how to do structured and unstructured walks on the leash. We can finally go on daily walks with him and take him to dog-friendly public places with us!! She sent over updates with photos or videos while he was staying with her which was a real treat for us to watch his progress from afar.

Disclaimer: Kylah is no longer working for Pavlov, but this was my experience nonetheless.
While Kylah seemed confident in her methods, I found that she was dismissive of my concerns as a dog owner. I was diligent in following the training, but over time, my dog’s reactivity returned. Despite follow-up sessions, I felt the reliance on the e-collar was not effective, and it even appeared to cause my dog distress. When I raised concerns about trying other methods, they were dismissed, which left me feeling frustrated and disappointed.
In my experience, the training method did not offer long-term results, particularly for anxious dogs. The use of the e-collar felt more like a constant correction tool rather than a means to build real communication with my dog.
Before committing to a board and train program, especially at this price, I would advise considering alternative approaches if your dog is anxious. I’m saddened to leave this review but feel it’s important to share my experience.
HOWEVER, I have since spoke with the owner of the business, Tanya. She really heard me and validated my experience working with Kylah. She refunded me 1/3 of the cost of the board and train, which seemed reasonable to me. And informed me that they are evolving their training practices to hopefully better suit more dogs with different behavioral issues. I appreciate the honesty, and the cooperation on her part. That’s why I’m still giving 4 stars.

Working Trainer Kylah from Pavlov’s Dog Training is the best investment Ive ever made!! In two weeks my high energy one year old dog that was a puller and a jumper learned how to heal, come when called, stay and not jump up on people. Its wonderful to have tools and strategies that enable me to communicate with my dog. Kylah was so helpful and patient when teaching me how to work with my dog in the follow up sessions. I brought my dog back for a second week and he so so happy and excited to see her. Clearly Kylah loves dogs and they love her!

I’m truly blown away by how amazing Pavlov Dog Training did with our 95 lb Pit Bully, Bertha. As you can imagine, before training Bertha was very hard to control on a leash, barked a lot, and we had a hard time controlling her. Meredith and her team went above and beyond to train Bertha out of her naughty habits and she did it in a very kind and safe environment. Bertha loved her training so much that she didn’t want to leave Meredith’s beautiful home and had the time of her life. She got to play with other dogs and go on hikes and adventures all while learning her training. Meredith is extremely knowledgeable and kind and made us feel so supported and equipped every step of the way. We are so grateful for her and would recommend Pavlov Dog Training to any of our friends and family!

Ashley was a pleasure to work with. We took Otto, our 4 month old puppy, for a 2 week training program. Otto is an anxious dog that gets really scared of people. After only 2 weeks with Ashley, Otto had improved so much! He is now more confident and obedient, and she gave us a lot of tools to work with that we’ve been using after the program ended. We highly recommend Ashley if you have a dog that requires special attention.

We sought out Pavlov Dog Training because of their great recommendations. At the time our energetic yellow lab was 11 months old. We are novice dog owners/trainers so we needed information on training as much as Jake needed positive channeling of this behavior. For us this meant he would not jump on people, pull on his leash and would come when called; just general impulse control issues.
We decided the two week board and train course would be best. When we met Kylah she quickly assessed Jake and explained her goals for him. She was very confidant and knowledgeable. Fast forward two weeks when we went to pick Jake up. He was happy to see us but sat in place and did not jump on us. Kylah then proceeded to explain how we could best work with him and we spent a good ninety minutes working together to get our comfort level secure.
We have met with Kylah twice since then. We continue to work with Jake daily. We have a dog that is off leash more because we trust he will follow our commands. He is much better behaved when we have company and we have the tools to correct him when he misbehaves. His fun-loving, goofy spirit is intact. We are so happy we invested in the two weeks of training we all needed.
Kylah has been awesome and available for any questions that arise. I’m thankful for her knowledge and training style that helped us understand Jake’s needs. I would highly recommend Kylah and Pavlov Dog Training to anyone who is needing guidance with their dog.

My very sweet rescue, Carl was in need of some training. Although he loves all people, we had an issue with him jumping on them to try to lick their faces. The other biggest issue for us was pulling on the leash. Kylah came VERY highly recommended by a friend who is in the industry. Kylah worked with him on the main issues and discovered he also had some aggression toward other dogs so she worked on that too. Carl came home a perfect gentleman! Some neighbors even asked if he was the same dog! I would also highly recommend Kylah and Pavlov. Worth every penny!

We worked with Meredith, who magically transformed my anxious and naughty girl, Ashley, into a well behaved and much more confident version of herself. She is a dream to walk, her recall is excellent, and she pays attention to me and what I want. An unintended benefit is that she came out of her shell and loves to play with other dogs, which is great for her mental and physical health. Meredith also gave us lots of helpful advice about Ashley and our whole pack. When we have seen Meredith for follow up training, Ashley is so excited to see her. I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Meredith and the benefits bestowed upon our family! I highly recommend this program.

Can’t believe how great our experience was with Pavlov here in Portland, OR. Meredith was effective and considerate of both our furry friend Annabelle and us humans as we learned how to enforce desired behavior. Our 3 year old basset hound was quite the wild girl and now she is in control and follows the rules. It has really helped bring us closer with her and we are so thankful! 10/10 recommend anyone giving Pavlov a shot!

Highly recommend Kylah and the 3 week board and train off leash program with Pavlov Dog Training! My 16 month lab puppy is always very excited to go on walks or adventures, but had trouble focusing and not letting the distractions or excitement take over. He knew the basic commands, but wasn’t proficient at always listening to them, and had lots of trouble with distractions and any duration commands. But after Kaylah worked with him, I can’t believe that I can now take my puppy off leash on walks and even if he sees other people or dogs walk right by him, he will stay and listen to my commands!! He walks in perfect heal, on or off leash. He is now a perfect dog to take to a restaurant/patio, he will stay in place and be calm for long periods of time. I’m excited for all the summer activities that I will now be able to enjoy with my well trained puppy!

Kylah did wonders with Theo, our very excited 1 year old golden retriever. Before his on leash board and train he was terrible on leash, couldn’t coexist with our two older dogs, and couldn’t just be calm. We had trained our older two dogs ourselves but Theo was especially difficult and stubborn. I knew we needed help to train him. After two weeks with Kylah he walks in a heel, can stay in place (no matter how excited he gets), and is able to relax and coexist with our older dogs. Absolutely life changing and has lifted a huge weight off our shoulders! One of the best parts is you can tell Kylah truly cares and loves the dogs she trains!

Meredith has truly saved the relationship my wife has with our 1 year old blue heeler (Blue). We inherited our dog after it needed to be rehomed and while we knew our heeler would be a bit intense in terms needing to get their energy out, after 6 months, we both felt a bit over our heads.
Since Blue has undergone the 3 week board and train with Meredith at Pavlov, it feels like we finally found the missing puzzle piece to work with our dog and the knowledge to be better dog parents. We cannot thank Meredith and everyone at Pavlov for helping us!

10 out of 10 would recommend Kylah and Pavlov Dog Training!!!! Our Golden Retriever Porter completed both the On-leash and Off- leash obedience training. I am so happy with our results!!! During all the follow up sessions Kylah was able to show us tips and tricks to help focus all of his typical golden retriever energy.
I am so happy that my Co-worker recommended Kylah and Pavlov Dog Training!!
