Not only does this shop have a great vibe and an amazing selection - it also has Fiona and Tracy! These queens have helped me out of many a twisted, dropped, and lost stitch and I am so thankful for their existence, patience, and willingness to help me become a better knitter!

My new favorite fiber shop. Lots of Malabrigo and Noro, among many others. I was immediately inspired when I walked in. Staff were exceptional—knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended!

Great variety. Helpful staff. Beautiful materials. Small quaint shop in Multnomah village. This is my go to for getting yarn and knitting supplies. If I ever need a help with a project they are there! They have standard yarn pricing, but high quality product. Thank you guys for always being so wonderful!

Stopped in here today for the first time and left happy with arms full of yarn. The staff is so helpful and knowledgeable but mostly just let you browse and wander (my kind of service) and the yarns are beautiful with loads of colors available. This was the best yarn shop experience I've had in Portland so far. Nothing pretentious or intimidating about it, just happy knitter vibes all around. Highly recommend!

Some crazy guy brought a lama into the store and threw a fit about being asked just to take it outside… anyway, great people, extremely skilled and always eager to help with your projects! I’d give 10 stars if I could, spend your money here.

I am new to knitting, and decided to check out Northwest Wools while on vacation in Portland with my family. It is a lovely, lovely small shop with floor-to-ceiling shelves of yarn. They have an indie section of yarn made and dyed by local artisans. Jacob was so kind, helpful, and patient, answering all of our questions and giving us recommendations based on the projects we wanted to start. My mother, daughter, and I had such a good experience that we signed up for a beginning knitting class with Cammie. She's an amazing teacher, patient, knowledgeable, and able to give instructions in a very easy-to-understand way. Taking her class was a really great experience, a definite highlight of our vacation, and worth every penny! Love this shop!

Decided to stop by while visiting Portland for the first time. The staff were so nice and welcoming. The yarn was beautiful and high quality. Nice, cozy, welcoming environment. I hope to make my way back to the store next time I'm in the area. Definitely a must visit for knitters and crocheters! They also had a bathroom, which is a plus, and lots of posters and info on knitting events.

My 4th grader wanted to learn to crochet so we signed up for a three hour lesson. The staff helped us pick the right yarn and hooks, and we were introduced to the instructor, Jacob. Three very fast hours later, we are pros! Ok not really, but Jacob was an incredibly patient teacher, with a clear teaching style, and a ready smile. They made the learning process fun for both of us. We will be back for sure.
