I was given a gift card for Christmas to sign up for the intro to fly fishing with Brian Light. As someone who’s never fished in their entire life, I couldn’t have been happier learning about fishing in the classroom portion, then spending nearly 8 hours on the water with Brian and learning everything I did. Ultimately, I caught 6 fish and walked away from the experience absolutely “hooked” on fly fishing. If you’re considering looking anywhere else, DONT! They also send out a super informative weekly newsletter every week, which contains a ton of info. Best outfit in the Portland area, highly highly highly recommend their intro to fly fishing if you’re someone who’s looking to get into the sport.

When you first walk in the door you are warmly greeted by the most friendly pooch?The shop has high quality fishing gear and staff is very knowledgeable , friendly and helpful. Nice to have an excellent place to grab the things you need before hitting the river and it’s not too far from my home.

Northwest Fly-fishing Outfitters is the ultimate local flyshop. I came in to stock up on late fall Flys and they knew just what to recommend for my river destination. In the era of big box stores its great to know you can go in for advice where they really seem to care.
