This place is fantastic. Cats are carnivores and love raw meat and this is one of the only pet shops around that not only understands that but makes the effort to stock it.

I’m literally in love with MFCAD. I went there today and they were CLOSED!!! Then I realized… I didn’t actually need any dog food. How did they know?!? I slipped a 20 under the door for good measure and crawled my way back to hell. Will be returning soon!

Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. We have two Irish wolfhounds and feed them raw. I was picking up some food a few days ago and had an incident with my pups and the slider of my car opening up on its own, and then 250lbs of 10 months old IW’s jumping out in excitement. I grabbed their collars and held on for dear life. I screamed for help and within seconds an employee and customer were there to help me. I can’t tell you how grateful I am. And then another employee came out and hung with them while I took care of my order. Between the great product they sell, the wonderful staff, and the customers who shop there, they have a customer for life with me!

Meat is the best! Heidi (owner) is incredible. She saved my cat's life!!! She consulted with me about changing my cat's diet after kitty had spent days in the ER after a severe reaction to what I had been feeding her. Now she is happier and healthier than ever thanks to Heidi and Meat!

Getting ready to adopt and came in to get high quality treats and some general info on helpful tips for new pets. Locally owned, female independent owner as well who's lived in pdx forever! They generously gave me 4 free samples to try to the two I bought. Always great people work here and great products. Love this place! Support local!!

The absolute greatest!!! I live in Gresham & I am more than willing to make the 20-30min drive to come here & pickup supplies! I love their wide variety & selection of foods, toys, supplements for BOTH cats & dogs! Their big thing is helping to make it easier to provide your pets a raw diet & having lots of options for you, and that they do! I had no idea where to start with getting my animals started with adding fresh meats to their diets that I felt safe giving them! I then found this awesome place last October on the way back from the pumpkin patch lol!I can't recommend this place enough! All the employees & owner are all so incredibly sweet & helpful! Prices are pretty typical for being in Portland area, so don't expect big chain pet store prices, but the quality is well worth the price!

This is simply the best pet food store. The owner and staff are not only incredibly kind and generous, they are also extremely knowledgeable about the science of modern animal nutrition and behaviour. Every aspect of the business is infused with care and attention. We love Meat! ??✨

They are always friendly here. We usually can find what we are looking for. They are one of the few pet stores that have raw rabbit nuggets for cats. They also have this pretty neat rewards program where I believe if you buy a certain number of bags of food you get one bag free.

Amazing Prices! I have been feeding my two dogs a raw diet for 5 years. Of all the places in town, MEAT is by far the best price and quality. They have automatic discounts when foods are purchased in bulk. Along with their little treat bar area that gives a discount when purchasing over 10 items. The owner and the staff are beyond helpful and knowledgeable. Along with being so kind and fun! You couldn't change my mind if you tried, there are so many reasons this store is my go to! And the owners of MEAT have been in the game long before many raw specific brick and mortars-A pioneer if you will! That is hard to come by in this city anymore. This store wants everyone to be able to feed their pets with a raw/cleaner healthy diet-and as a seasoned raw food mama, it shows not only in the cost, but in the education they willingly give out with any questions or concerns you may have!

The prices in this place were - beyond shocking. incredibly overcharged items on everything from bones to the packaged food. A bag of Ziwi was nearly $25 over Ziwi's own published price and nearly $39 above what was available on chewy.com. I absolutely want to support local businesses so I'm happy to pay a little more than what I'd find online, but this was unreasonable. What was more peculiar was they pushed for registration on their "rewards" program; but the program is reserved to a few select frozen items... not only confusing, but disconcerting since there would be plenty of room within their markup to incorporate a better rewards modifier for all products. As for service - nothing bad to report. No one offered to help and no one made an effort to assist as I looked through different bone options; but none of the staff were rude or unfriendly in anyway. Their selection of raw/alternative/specialty foods looked fantastic; but not at the risk of $20+ in markup charges.

I've been purchasing my dog and cat food from Meat for more than 10 years for good reasons...the quality of food, great variety of toys, treats, etc but just as important to me is how knowledgable, patient and friendly the staff has always been. Heidi is gifted at creating a wonderful fun place to shop for my critters. Don't hesitate at making Meat the place to purchase high quality food and supplies for your dogs and cats!
