This place looks like a rug museum from the outside. I walked by it for days but I was intimated to go in because it looked quite upscale. That said, it IS upscale in the craft and artistry, but not in attitude. If you're looking for the most beautiful rugs imagineable, rugs that are truly pieces of art, rugs that MAKE the room, then this is your place! They can take almost any design that you come up with and translate it into an identical rug make of wool and or silk. Its awesome. Definitely the kind of thing that you would hope to keep in your family for many generations. Custom rugs, especially those of wool and silk are pricey - no doubt. However, in our price range, we were really drawn in by their seasonal sale. Its a sale of existing inventory and styles. We found two amazing rugs - they let us take multiple rugs home to try out in our space - which was invaluable. The first one was a knockout perfect fit right away. It took a few more tries to find the second one. The prices on the sale rugs were comparable to what you might pay at Pottery Barn or something like that - but the quality was incomparable - any you know its not being made by child labor, because it is coming through their producers. Christa and Kerry have a great eye to help you choose rugs and quickly learn your style and are able to recommend rugs that might work for your space. Kerry is one of the owners, and was truly knowledgeable and passionate about the craft and artistry. We had a great multiple visits to Lapchi. This is a great resource, especially if you have the means to work with them to make a custom rug.
