In December 2019, I experienced a challenging situation with Key Bank involving my joint savings account. The state of Oregon, to whom I owed money, initiated an account freeze, impacting over $5,000 in the account. This sum was particularly significant as it constituted my wife's student loan funds. The timing of this freeze, right before Christmas, added to the stress of the situation. My wife and I immediately contacted Oregon authorities to resolve this issue. The process was lengthy and complex, taking a full month before we could access the funds again. Fortunately, the money was returned, primarily because it belonged to my wife. This experience left me with a strong negative impression of Key Bank. Despite the circumstances and the account being jointly owned, Key Bank's response was that they couldn't offer any assistance. This incident serves as a cautionary tale about the potential complications of joint bank accounts and the actions banks might take without regard for individual circumstances.

I've always had good service from the bank tellers and bankers at this branch of KeyBank. Susan Johnson

For the first time since we've had this account, I found it necessary to go into the branch personally. I had a great experience thanks to Kyle, who made me feel at home and took care of everything I needed.

They try to get you to open more savings accounts at this location any time you go in for a simple deposit or withdrawal. Their teller stations are always closed, so you have to go into a booth with, basically, a salesman trying to get you to open more bank accounts, instead of just handling your deposit or withdrawal. Ghettoist bank I've ever been to.

My business accounts are held at Key Bank. The branch manager doesn't return calls. This is unfortunate since the home office says I have to talk to him to resolve issues related to branch mistakes.

Don't bother with their promotions unless you know all the details! Came in, spent an entire hour working on opening a checking account for a promotion to receive a bonus if a certain amount was deposited. Spent the time, set up an acct, made a deposit, and then after the fact am told I didn't get the promotion because only a direct deposit from an employer counted towards it. I was unemployed at the time so if I had known it had to be a direct deposit, I never would have wasted all that time! This will ultimately cost me a few hrs of my life to open and now close an account for zero benefits.

They like to profile customers and put holds on checks at their discretion. Avoid this branch.

This branch likes to profile customers based on their appearance. Don't bank with these shady bastards.

Key bank is the worst bank EVER! After having my purse stolen, I tried getting help to only get attitude! At their Lloyd tower location I was given my account number by manager Michele to pay bills online. Went right back in when it didn't work. Passed to Emily who also refused to help, telling me it does work. Found out trying to change direct deposit that it was the wrong account number entirely, Emily thought it was hysterical. Of course I was penalized and charged for return payments. Fifty dollars still gone unaccounted for from last month's check. Two calls to corporate got the standard they don't make mistakes, and they don't refund fees incurred due to customer service mistakes, because they don't make mistakes, and missing money from your account is your problem not theirs and they don't answer questions. Good luck, hope you have enough for all! Key Bank replied with their concern and left information for me to contact them. Another half day wasted, website for help doesn't exist called customer service twice to be put on hold and ignored. Sent email to get auto response, it doesn't understand I'll have to call? The usual Baffonery to avoid RESPONSIBILITY! And of course didn't get the $200 promised on website for opening an account online because that didn't work either and I had to go to a branch, they didn't need me to fill anything out because they got my application on line. But because the website didn't work, I don't qualify. Nine months and out so far around $350 for their deceitful business practices. I can no longer afford an account at this bank!

Every single time I cash my paycheck, a dark haired female teller puts me through the ringer. Twice a month, every month. Takes my ID to do extra verification, and requires me to give them my bosses phone # so they can verify AGAIN (checks never exceed 160). This process has taken upwards of 20 minutes at times. Absolutely ridiculous, I only have this issue with this specific teller. Any other teller simply cashes the check.
