Latif is a fun and charismatic guy who knows his industry. He is fascinated by all of his pieces and willing to delve into the history and origins of each. My rug is still as clean, stain resistant, and beautiful as the day I purchased it over one year ago.I highly recommend for anyone looking to upgrade their space with some authentic and colorful North African flare.

Reasonably priced, pre-washed carpets handcrafted by self-taught tribal women in North Africa who'd weave whatever colorful patterns they'd like.

We had a great experience here! I came in with my fiancé looking for a rug, but not knowing quite what to expect, and with a somewhat limited budget. The owner, Latif, was so friendly and gave us his full attention while we dragged out and looked at 30+ options! We narrowed it down and he let us take our three favourites home to try out in our own space, and connected us to his wife, Katen, for any questions. We ended up with a rug we love and they even gave us a generous discount since our favourite was a bit above budget. Would highly recommend this store. Such a great selection of unique and beautiful rugs and service, too!

Stopped in at Kat + Maouche while in Portland. The store mainly sells rugs, but also other items, such as blankets, poufs, baskets, and slippers. They travel all over Morocco to hand pick the items in the store. They have some pretty stunning rugs; the kind that you buy first, then design around. If you're into home decor, these are the types of rugs you find on photos in Houzz from high end designers. The rugs are all unique (sizes and colors) since they're hand made. Some of them are very beautiful art pieces. The prices range depending on the rugs, but they seem reasonable to me. I've been looking for a traditional tribal red flat woven rug for a while, but it's really tough trying to find one online. For many rugs, you have to touch it and watch the light dance around it. The price point on my rug is pretty good, which is why I decided to take it on the plane back home. I also ended up with a pouf that makes an area in my office feel like spring time year round (posting photos). Loving the new items for my home!
