I’m new to the West Coast, so happy to have Brady and Carlos helping me with my car. They’re always helpful and pleasant. I totally trust them, and stopped worrying about having someone new as my mechanic.

Brady and Carlos have now worked on 4 different cars for me, all very different brands. The breadth of their knowledge is impressive. They have always been able to diagnosis and solve the problems that the cars present (the newest car is a 2008 Prius, the oldest a 2000 Miata with a Saab and a Subaru in between). Brady is someone who wants to get a car back on the road; he may take a guess at what needs to be done but isn't afraid to change the plan if the facts or intuition later suggest otherwise. And I feel he's not looking to pad his wallet; rather he is looking to get done what needs to be done at a fair price. And Carlos cannot be forgotten in this review. His is the steady hands that get much of the work done. It's not often that you see a business with all 5 stars, except for the occasional 1 star. I like the reviewer who said you have to take reviews with a grain of salt, good ones and bad ones. This is a business I recommend to my friends. It is a 2-person business. Might there be a glitch? Sure. But I know Brady and Carlos come at their business with a high ethical standard. That is what I count on.Services: Electrical repair

Terrible customer service. I called to talk about my car and he yelled at me to hurry up then wouldn't listen to what I was saying, spoke over me and then tried to pressure me into agreeing to bringing my car in. I told him to have a good day and ended the call. Wow! Thumbs down! Learn some respect.

For what it's worth, I have never before felt it necessary to leave a negative review of a business. For 15 years, I have been a loyal customer at Import Repair Center. In that time, Brady has been a mostly reliable, if perennially grouchy, mechanic for multiple vehicles for my family. Occasionally (and always due to a lack of communication or oversight on his part), we would be charged up to 40% above the original quote. We always paid without complaint.Sometimes, a problem would prove difficult to diagnose, and we would need to return (sometimes up to three times), and we would pay the bill, without question, every time. Once, they were unable to correctly diagnose a problem, repaired another issue that they found, and never actually addressed the issue that brought us there, which wound up being repaired by another mechanic out of state when the part in question failed on a road trip (it was an O2 sensor, according to his scanner, but Brady was sure it was something else causing the symptoms, and didn't replace it; still, what ever he did do, we paid for without complaint). Despite this, we returned to his shop, time and again. People make mistakes sometimes, right? Now, I feel like our loyalty was for nothing.Noise from rear end when turning, Brady says 'wheel bearing' and quotes 'in the $400 range.' I bring the car in, and later receive a call at work, with the phone cutting out constantly. He says something about a 60K service, and an oil change. I state that I brought the car in for a specific issue, not maintenance (which was 3K miles before being due), and he says he can't find a problem with the bearings after all, but he'll dig further.Go to pick up the car. He has done the full 60K service (which he justified by showing me a very filthy air filter) an oil change, and the bearing. The bill is approaching $700. I remind him that we didn't want an oil change, or scheduled maintenance (we had a VERY recent oil change sticker on the window, which he had to remove to place his), and he removes that from the bill, bringing it down to $600. I pay, but am feeling confused, as I wasn't given a work order receipt. Later, I call to ask what raised the original quote so much, but I am polite, and a bit sheepish, even. Brady IMMEDIATELY gets defensive and tells me to come in and he'll refund $200 'if I'm going to be that way.' I do, and he's decided to only give me $100, which he throws on the counter. At this point, I persisted, because I felt like he was being unfair. He proceeds to yell at me, and call me a 'chiseler' among other things. I am informed that I've 'just made a huge mistake' as I leave in disbelief. I guess I'm on the hunt for a new mechanic. The car still has the same noise from the rear end.Edited to add: I'm fully aware that quotes are not an exact science, and that it's possible that a bearing replacement alone could cost $600. My issue this time was that Brady never even attempted to explain how the bill got so much higher, nor did he provide me with an itemized receipt. If he had laid out where the added costs came from, I'd still be a happy customer. Instead, he was 'offended' that I would even ask. It felt very shady.Service: General repairs & maintenance

My daughter, who lives across the country from us, went in thinking she needed new brakes. It was just a broken spring. They were honest and didn't take advantage of a young lady. Many thanks.

Best people ever! I just had my catalytic converter replaced and the censor and my car was still having issues. Took it here and Brady took good care of us. I think the problem is fixed and he did it for free. I couldn't have had a better experience.Services: Vehicle Inspection
