Love this place. Stay here frequently. They do a great job, and it's a great location in downtown Portland. If they could improve something, the bathroom lighting is dim. PS, the restaurant/bar is great. Annie is wonderful.

Benjamin the valet is very attentive and efficient! Always gets my car up in a timely manner and will remember who’s car belongs to who and is very accommodating to guests schedules.

House keepers were so very nice and wonderful. The front desk seemed to be less welcoming. I had seen a house keeper with a shark vacuum?? I thought industrial shop vacuums were more appropriate for concrete flooring. Just an observation very nice room serviceRooms: Industrial ship vacuums last way longer and have the proper suction for concrete

The Staff here really worked hard to make our stay absolutely delightful. They offered a room upgrade when we checked in without us even asking. The desk staff helped us get a small table in our room so we could play board games in the evening. The cleaning staff did an impeccable job of keeping our room clean and were eminently professional. Rooms and decor were modern, clean, and well kept. A worthwhile stay and oh so close to everything Portland has to offer. Happy travels!Rooms: Rooms are tidy and modern. Clean lines and smart design make the rooms feel larger than their stated square footage would dictate.Nearby activities: Restaurants galore of every genre and price range. Everything we tried nearby was completely worthwhile.Walkability: Location can’t be beat. Walked to nearly every single point of interest we had planned on visiting.Food & drinks: Restaurant served a decent breakfast that was hot and fresh. However, there are pleanty of options nearby to explore.

This hotel is a nightmare for a lot of reasons. Avoid at all costs - many other options in the area.Looks like a big push recently to raise their google reviews after a lot low scores. Lots of recent reviews from people who have only done 1 review, ever.

Helpful staff and comfortable and clean room. Central location walking distance from pretty much whatever you'd like to check out in downtown Portland.

It was okay. We stayed as a family of two adults and two teenagers, while two of us went to the MODA Centre for an NBA game. The service was fine and friendly - and I’d like to acknowledge our server (?Lucas) at Covet for being particularly pleasant and helpful. I found the hotel to be kind of dark and gloomy. And more industrial than I was expecting. Furnishings very basic and reminded me of IKEA styling. The biggest issue with our room was with cleanliness. It was fine - for the most part - but there were hairs and mysterious stains on our bedding. So we slept without blankets all night.Location was - again, fine. Very seedy and kind of dirty downtown with a lot of homeless camps. Not the hotel’s fault, though. All in all, I don’t think I would stay at a Hyatt Centric property again.

For all those who will try to use this hotel, please don’t be fooled by the reviews they have at the beginning….you have to dig deep to find the reviews that show that this has to be the worst place. So I started out by trying to book with Hyatt Regency at the Oregon Convention Center. At that point they had sold out and recommended Hyatt Centric Downtown. It is marketed by Hyatt as being equal to Hyatt Regency in customer service. Hyatt immediately removed 200$ from my card. I called and complained and two days later they put it back, but that was a major inconvenience to me as I did not have access to my money for 4 days.So I get to the hotel, and there is no parking except for extremely expensive valet parking and 35$ nightly parking across the street. On checking in I was asked for 300$ for incidentals. I complained and the manager decreased it to 150$. Seems she was making this up as she went along. Between the parking and the large sum for the incidentals, I became frustrated and said “ This has to be the worse place”. The manager immediately said to me “ I am cancelling your rooms right now”. She cancelled both rooms and told me my money will be refunded in 7 to 10 business days. Then she called the police. My two daughters and I left the hotel, into the night, in the rain and cold, sat in our rental car and tried to get a place to stay for the night. I strongly believe I was turned away because I was black. I can’t imagine why she was so angry. It doesn’t make sense. We were the only ones in the lobby. I was not loud or combative. I made those comments in her hearing only. Customer service was non-existent here. The manager was rude and unkind and acted in a highly unprofessional manner, as if she had a personal issue with me. I don’t know her. But shoutout to Courtyard Marriot, we were able to get a room for the night, even though we had to pay more due to last minute booking. This was one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life.

My husband, our two dogs & I stayed here for 6 nights while our home was out of power. The entire area was experiencing a nightmarish set of circumstances not limited to power outages & negative temp windchills, but we were safe cozy and warm thanks to this Hyatt. We can’t say enough about the staff and the sacrifices they made to accommodate the guests of the hotel during this time. Every valet, front desk associate, server and staff member went above and beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed and some of them did it during nonstop multi-day shifts. Other than their stunning ability to accommodate us during this insane time, the rooms are comfortable and clean with cool modern & thoughtful touches like light switches by the bed and curtains that can separate the room for added coziness and privacy. I’m probably forgetting a few things worth mentioning here, but I’ll end by saying that we started this week looking for ANY place where we could just survive for the week, and we never thought we’d be fortunate enough to end up in a place that offered us a memorable and awesome time.

My family stayed here for two nights during the winter storm in 2024 when we lost power for 4 days. The staff was amazing at maintaining as many services as possible during horrible weather conditions. The room was comfortable and spacious, the bed was soft and the linens were crisp and clean. After being turned away at a different hotel, I was so grateful for their accuracy of the booking service. The front desk even accommodated our request for early check-in even though it was super last minute and the cleaners had to hustle to turn over the rooms. I would give this hotel 6 stars if I could and will recommend it to all friends staying in Portland.Walkability: It was super convenient location and we were able to walk to Cheryl’s for breakfast when the hotel restaurant had to close due to the ice storm.
