“First thing to say:
THEY HAVE FANTASTIC COFFEE 24/7.

Quite a pleasant place to stay. I was there on business only for one night, so I didn't get to experience much of the area, but from what I saw it was quite pleasant.

Rooms are great, beds are great, I didn't get to use the kitchen in the suite, but it was there and clean.

Driving there is "interesting", but from there, you can either walk or take the tram. Service desk is great. The only mild weak link is the breakfast could use more protein and some hot food, but there may well be no way to accomplish that. Still, the continental breakfast was good, and even the bagels were pretty decent (I'm picky about bagels, not a fan of bread donuts).

Next time will be with spouse and for fun, not business, well, maybe business but only if I can hang out, visit the bookstore, etc, as well as give a talk in a noisy beerhall.

Rooms: Large, comfortable. A touch short on electrical outlets near the desk, but not insufferable. I think I want to know here I can get one of those very cute, handy LED reading lamps.

Noteworthy details: The suites are very spacious, and well appointed, with lots and lots of stuff available if you need it.”

“Had a wonderful stay in the heart of downtown Portland. Will definitely return! Friendly staff, clean room, great location.

Rooms: Clean, comfortable, everything we needed

Nearby activities: Two blocks from Pioneer Courthouse Square, Regal Cinema across the street, two blocks from the art gallery, theaters, fabulous dining.

Safety: Totally safe.

Walkability: Didn't need the car at all

Food and drinks: Lots to choose from”

“Jake and I stayed after our wedding and through the holiday - they treated us like royalty from the beginning with all the amenities that came from our booking. We got a bottle of sparkling wine with our Amex booking but the front desk made sure we felt taken care of when we checked in and had a had-written card as well. Once they found out we just got married (we were still in our wedding kit when we stopped in the bar), the front desk stopped by our room during one of the days we were out shopping and left a congratulatory card with cheese cake! All weekend, the staff crushed it and didn't even blink to go out of their way for us! From breakfast to New Years Eve cocktails - the bartenders also doted on us and they were constantly busy with other guests as well. Parking may be expensive but it's valet and of course totally worth the security that's needed in a big city! We had one of the many styles of Eggs Benedict and they were amazing! We appreciated all of it, thank you!

Rooms: rooms were clean and stocked - dog friendly hotel but from the room, we didn't hear any barking

Safety: hotel always had someone to man the front desk and valet/bell hop was always available, totally worth paying to park in a secure garage

Walkability: coffee shops and beautiful view of the bridge

Food and drinks: food and drinks were amazing but the service at the bar was impeccable - even New Years Eve, staff was doubled and service was amazing

Noteworthy details: staff will definitely accommodate as much as they can, the little things add up to make this a luxury stay”

“On a recent trip to Portland from Orlando, I stayed at the Candlewood Suites, PDX when I arrived and departed. Danielle was at the desk both times and she is just a wonderful person. She checked me in and was very helpful explaining the house rules. She was friendly and even laughed at my multiple "dad jokes". Thanks you for having such a great employee.

Rooms: Clean with everything I needed. I really liked the floor plan and the bed was comfortable.”

“Love the Society. A lot of people complain about Old Town and the homeless population. It's a little overblown, in my opinion. But I love downtowns everywhere, so I'm biased.”

Rooms: Very comfortable”

“Fun place. They have open mice comedy shows which is not bad and good shows sat and Friday nights. I like the vibe and atmosphere. Never had food but they have a sour beer that I really like.”

“Rooms: Quite comfortable rooms, very friendly and helpful staff.

Safety: Although pretty close to downton, is relatively in a remote part of it and almost inside residential part of town. We were worried about the many homeless people on the streets in downton, the area around the hotel was fine.”

“Unreal experience staying here, service was a 12/10. There was a slight issue with their system when checking me in, and the Embassy employee gave me not one, but TWO packs of reeces cups. Awesome breakfast as well and the ambiance is one in which I facetimed my significant other so she could also take it all in. Great times at the Embassy.”

“Second stay at Hyatt Centric Downtown Portland. A special shotout to Greer at the front desk, Alicen and Annie in Covet, Vi from housekeeping, and Tyler from valet. Their amazing service keeps me and the dogs coming back! The rooms are super modern, clean, and comfortable. Food from the restaurant was delicious! Had breakfast and dinner both days! I kept telling them that I can’t believe this is a category 2 property. It’s that good and the staff here have a large part to play in that! The location is also very good. Close to the shops in the Pearl and other decent restaurants. Safety is not a concern and I felt safe at all hours. My only complaint is that parking is really expensive if you are paying the standard rate but other than that it is perfect.”

“This hotel was awesome! Every day there is complemntary coffee and cider in the lobby, free wine tastings in the evening, and you recieve a daily money credit that stacks and can be used on multiple things. Everyone here was very friendly, especially Mike who gave us a bottle of wine after a small hot water issue in our room. He continued to reappear in our stay and always made his best effort to ensure we were having a great trip. We hope to come back again very soon!

Safety: Felt fairly safe in the area(8/10), homeless are pretty docile and tend to be nonaggressive

Walkability: So many close restaurants and light activities. Close to public transportation”

“First time we stayed here, we definitely got the creepy theme. Good hotel, was off-put by the bathroom that everyone shares instead of having your room include a bathroom. Food amazing, and short walk down the street to the Crystal Ballroom

Nearby activities: Crystal Ballroom.

Walkability: Easy quick walk to anywhere.

Food and drinks: Good health food store nearby”

“The staff are some of the friendliest hotel staff I’ve ever been around, the hotel is very clean and welcoming, and it is very close to the airport as well as other stores making it a convenient place to stay at. I will say police officers did come here a few times in the past couple days, i’m not sure why maybe a homeless person tried to come in or something but everything seemed fine so if anything happened they solved it quickly and made sure the hotel guests were safe. Overall I had a great experience and would definitely come back again.”

“The hotel is very clean and comfortable! The bathroom was beautiful and the showers water pressure and toiletries were great! Valet service was handy with being able to text as needed. Service in general was great.

We stayed one night, we were in town for a mini baby-moon before our first little one comes in a few weeks. Check in was a breeze, we were able to check in about 30mins ahead of schedule which was great since we had a 4pm hockey game to make. One elevator of the three was down so elevators took a bit of time waiting but wasn’t a huge issue.

We were able to easily walk to the Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the hockey game and it only took about 10mins, very easy walk. When we came back we got refreshed and headed up to the rooftop restaurant. They were very kind and let us split two of the entrees between the two of us, the Mac n Chs and the pork - both were amazing! I had some leftovers and we got dessert to go. As a note, there are no microwaves in the room but there is one in the lobby for easy use.

Our only issue of the night was the A/C was not working. Since we had been in and out of the room we didn’t notice it wasn’t cooling down. At almost 8months pregnant, I run quite warm and had set the room temperature to 65. It was 75 when we went to sleep, so we also opened the window as it was less than 40 degrees outside and we hoped this would cool it down faster. I woke up at about 4:30am and it was still 75 degrees in the room. My husband called down to ask if there was assistance available to fix the A/C or if there was a box fan we could pick up to alleviate some of the heat. Unfortunately neither were available. We were quite uncomfortable with the heat, and with myself being pregnant it was really difficult to get comfortable without any blankets and being quite sweaty from waking up to such a warm room. Since we live in Washington and were already departing that day, we decided to just check out a few hours early and head out around 5:30am.

The front desk agent that was handling the overnight shift was phenomenal! She was very sweet and understanding for us wanting to check out early. She did offer a room switch, but since we weren’t staying another night it didn’t fit the best for us. Instead she was kind enough to adjust off the charge for the night of valet. Did not catch her name, but she is listed as cashier 143 on our receipt. Our confirmation number was also 6810746. She was very helpful at each interaction and had a very pleasant attitude for working overnight.

Overall would definitely still stay here again - looking forward to coming back the next time we are in Portland.”

“My wife & I stayed here while we searched for a place to move in the area! Room was clean, front desk was nice for check in (at 2am) and check out! My only complaint is the specific room I was in, was next to a door that led outside, the door would slam from people going in and out at different times, if possible, they should try to add a hydraulic or spring door closer, other than that everything was perfect!”

“Very Basic, clean, very budget, staff were nice, coffee in the office in the morning.

Walkability: I am okay with walking, restaurants near by. I don't go out at night. Mainly because I'm old. Anyway, it is what it is. Safeway easy walking distance. Italian restaurant.”

“Our first time to Portland and we absolutely loved it! We took our chocolate lab ( he too had a blast) with us. The staff was very accommodating and considerate. They went out of their way to assist which we were extremely grateful for. The rooms were immaculate, quirky and very clean. Special thanks to Danielle at the front desk and Owen they made our stay the absolute best! We'll definitely be recommending and returning.”

“We absolutely loved our stay, Evermore Guesthouse is absolutely stunning and beatiful! The rooms were well maintained and pretty, and the amenities were on par with any other place you could stay in. I can't wait to come back!Rooms: Each room was unique and had it's own charm. Had all the basic amenitiesFood & drinks: Breakfast on the main floor was great! Was tasty and had dietary options!”

“Great hotel, clean, modern, big rooms! Great location. Only issue would be they have a very strong perfume smell in all the rooms, hallways and really everywhere. Very overbearing. But it is very clean and modern. Would definitely stay here again!

Nearby activities: Shopping mall and restaurants in walk distance

Safety: Area seems fine, but very well let parking lot.

Walkability: Can easily walk to many restaurants and lots of shopping, Nordstrom Rack, Marshall’s, Target etc.

Food & drinks: Lots of restaurants within walking distance.”

“The quality for the cost is incredible!

Staffing friendliness can definitely be better but the room is a great size and modern so check in on the app and your visit will be uncompromised. This is always my “go to” place to stay when I know I’m going to be in Portland. The Max has stops a block away. Lots of food and drink options are all within walking distance.

The bar area is nice and drinks are reasonably priced.

Walkability: Convenience store about two clocks away. Bars, restaurants, and shopping galore within a few blocks distance. MAX stop a block away.”

“My companion and I had a great time at the hotel. It was very nicely decorated, centrally located and had underground secure parking. What a beautiful hotel. It was nearby so many restaurants and shops, and not too loud.”

3.9 Good143 Reviews

“This is the best PDX airport hotel. The beds are perfect not too soft or hard. Clean and quiet. Amazing staff, airport transport and great breakfast. No need to go elsewhere for breakfast as there is eggs, omelets, bacon, sausage, biscuits with gravy, cereal, yogurt, fruit and pastries.”

4 Good51 Reviews

“Noteworthy details: We arrived at midnight and the hotel shuttle runs until 11:30 PM, and the staff called an Uber to shuttle us from PDX to the hotel. What great customer service.”

“We chose this hotel for a getaway to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We were delighted with the complimentary upgraded room, the nice touch of chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne upon arrival and the excellent service we experienced. From the warm and personable welcome by Clint at the front desk to the attentive service during a gourmet dinner at Urban Farmer, we felt pampered and appreciated. We did have an issue with heat not working in our room due to a mechanical failure, but this was completely resolved to our satisfaction. The hotel is conveniently located near to Pioneer Square and easy walking distance to some amazing shops and restaurants.”

“I worked there for over a year and I genuinely used to love going to work, it was one of my favorite jobs. After Covid I left for a few months and then reapplied and started working there again. Some things were different and there was a new woman working in the position I used to work in and we worked together for a while until one day I was a few minutes late and she started doing my job and ignoring hers, as soon as I clocked in I told her I could take over and she refused to, forcing me to do her job. She was already in a bad mood and wouldn't take over her position and started getting violently frustrated with me, rather than talking to me she stormed out yelling "not today" and I figured she just needed a few minutes to cool off but after 20-30 minutes I started having to do my job and her job and no manager informed me until an hour into my shift that she had left and gone home for the day leaving me to work the rest of my shift doing two positions with no help and closing for the day. After that I ended up being barked at by a manager for being upset by the situation and talked to by another manager about the incident without the other employee being there to resolve the issue. I was told tasks haven't been done that hadn't been brought to my attention before the meeting and because I tried confronting the other employee instead of just being quiet and doing her position rather than my own I was fired. And to this day it really bothers me how this situation played out. I work really hard at every job I have and just know you lost a very loyal employee.”

“Hotel was great except for the fact they tried to charge me $50 per dog for pet fee. Their website does not say $50 PER DOG. It says $50 for pets and 2 animals max (cats and dogs only). I also had called and asked prior to booking the hotel. They did not charge me the additional $50 after getting the manager involved, but the girl checking me in had an attitude towards me about it when I checked in. The rest of the stay and staff were pleasant.”

“My friends and I have been coming here for the past two years for the annual Kumoricon at the convention center and we’ll be coming back next year!!! The staff was so nice ESPECIALLY Brianna, she went above and beyond to accommodate us, especially when I accidentally locked myself out of my hotel room. BRIANNA YOU RULE ?????”

“The hotel was well kept. Room was modern and clean. The staff were courteous and helpful. The location is central and is close to shops downtown and the metro. It's a block from the food trucks, which was nice. The area is not the safest with all the homeless, but at least it was on a quieter street of downtown. I liked that they put me on the top floor. It was a quiet and comfortable room. The only issue I had was with dust and stains on the sheets. The duvet looked like it was chewed up by someone's pet. I asked them to change the sheets after check in, but they only remade the bed instead of changing them.Walkability: Walking distance to transit, shops, and food trucks.”
