Had my own parts, they tried charging me $270 for the labor of a transmission oil change. Walked out, went to K&W where I got it done for $80. Take your car somewhere else.

Great service. Friendly and they give you coupons good for a year of oil changes

I've been a customer for nearly a decade in Gresham. Today I was attempting to get to their office to discuss appointments for two vehicles. Traffic getting there was a mess, and I decided to go in the back way as it was late. Honest 1 mechanic was parked in his truck blocking their business. After honking and getting no response, I got out to see what the issue was. He said it was not for public access, even though I've accessed their business this way lots of times. He proceeded to flip me off and ignore my request to pass. After driving around the block, I was able to get to the office where the manager was very unsympathetic, he said he would tell his brother, Steve, the owner of the business. Well, Steve, you've lost a long time customer who has recommended your business often. That stops now.

I bought a Groupon and found out when I got to the 82nd Ave location that they don't accept the Groupon coupon. Beware.

if I could them zero stars, I would. I brought in my Lincoln to this garage in September 2022 for a brake check. Upon inspection by the mechanic new brakes were recommended. The total cost for the new brakes was $1700. I thought that was high, but everything on this car is more expensive. After I drove off, I went about a week without any problems. Soon after the brakes were squeaking and a clanking noise started to happen. I took the car back to Stark, but they were now to shut down due to a fire in their shop. I then went to another garage and they confirmed the presence of a clanking noise, but could not find the source. The manager of the shop said "those guys over at Honest are crooks, they probably screwed something up". I then took it to another garage and they had it for three days and found the source of the noise, it was the breaks. I drove on it for a week and the noise came back so I took it to the Milwaukie Honest 1 location. They had it overnight and when I picked it up I was told "everything is fine, breaks squeak in the winter and the clanking noise is probably something rolling around in the back". I left completely unsatisfied and insulted. I waited a few months and took it back to the garage that said the breaks were the source. After 5 days, they shop diagnosed the problem as the breaks that were installed by Honest 1. The breaks were not only installed incorrectly, the wrong parts were used. $1000 later the breaks do not squeak anymore and the clanking noise is gone. I will NEVER take any vehicle of mine to Honest 1. I will follow up this review with a formal complaint to the State of Oregon.

I have been to honest 1 quite a few times in the past and have generally received good service. However, about a year ago I had to take my truck in after someone drilled holes in my gas tank. I expected they would replace the tank and my insurance was going to cover it. However, they told me they could just patch it and the estimate to do so ended up being cheaper than my premium, so I canceled my insurance claim and went forward with the recommended repair. I did ask beforehand whether or not patching the tank was a viable and safe alternative to replacing the tank and was told it would work fine and have no problem. Great!Recently it started leaking, so I called to see if I could get a refund for the work. I was told I couldn't get a refund because the fix was never meant to be permanent and the only reason they did it is because there were no tanks available at the time. While I totally understand and respect their policy of not refunding "temporary fixes", It was presented to me as an actual fix and doesn't indicate "temporary" on my invoice at the time. Its a bummer that I wasn't given the correct information at the time of repair. I was never told about the inability to find a tank, wasn't conveyed that the patch was a temporary fix, and was essentially given the impression that patching the tank was a recommended and viable repair option from the man who helped me. Otherwise I would've either waited for a tank to be available or kept my insurance claim active so that I could get the proper repair covered when a tank became available. Its just unfortunate because their inability to communicate honestly and openly about the initial repair, cost me a lot of time and money that could have otherwise been avoided. It's also slightly concerning I was told the patch would hold fine and then consider how dangerous it is to have a leaking gas tank.

Anytime a business feels the need to include "Honest" in their name to convince you to trust them, usually a good sign that you are about to be conned. I should have trusted my instincts and stayed far away from this shop.I took my car in to have my front brakes replaced, and ended up with a $900+ Bill for services that I had an actual trusted mechanic inform me I was grossly overcharged for.And the actual brake job... Subpar to say the least. The parts used appear to not be "new" at all, and I suspect are used and or refurbished, not to mention were pretty obviously not properly lubricated when installed and have been the noisiest "new brake pads and rotors" I have ever experienced in my life. I am not dense, I understand that there is some level of noise to be expected with new pads and rotors but when they are still make noise on EVERY STOP weeks after install that is a sign of low quality parts. For reference I got an actual high quality brake job at a much better shop shortly after on the rear as opposed to the front and the difference in quality and attention to detail is obvious.Service: Brakes

Not your go-to shop for auto service. I called a week ago and spoke with a rep. to schedule an appt. for oil change. Today, Wednesday, I showed up at 8 a.m. as scheduled and waited 20 mins in my car but nobody opened the shop. I called their location on 82nd and spoke with a dismissive rep. who claimed to have no idea who answers the phone and schedules appts. at the closed location. It turns out the was a fire a few weeks ago and that's why the shop is closed. One star is more than enough for such unprofessional service and lack of customer care.

These guys are crooks. I took my car in to have the A/C repaired and they charged me and sent me home 3 different times telling me that it was fixed, when only a mile down the road it was clear that it was not. Every time I called them back to tell them it was not fixed they claimed to have checked it and that it did work... from the start I told them that the A/C runs for about 3 minutes before it cuts off and againeach time reminded them of this. If they would have made notes, paid attention, not been grimy jerks, that probably would have gone a long way in diagnosing the problem correctly the first time. I had spent a year saving up a grand to get my A/C fixed, which is the total I paid between my first two visits. The 3rd time they told me that they "really figured out the problem this time" and that it was going to be 1k to fix. Since they already cleaned me out, I had to spend the rest of the summer sweating in my scorching hot car. $1k and my car is in the same exact condition as it came in? Criminal, dude. I also think it's worth noting that there are reviews below that read almost exactly like my experience. Stay far away from these jokers.

I've been taking my car here for years. The team at Honest Auto has always been straightforward with me, especially when it comes to billing, which I appreciate.

I've been going to this auto shop for about 5 years and have nothing but good things to say about it. The folks here have always been professional, given me the best prices, and as their name suggests, are honest. The store manager Jason, really seems to care about his customers. It's so rare to find nice people these days and I greatly appreciate the compassionate way they serve their customers.Services: Wheel alignment

Not sure if they were a good mechanic place at some point but definitely not at all anymore. Tony along with all the other staff is terrible, not honest at all. I took my 2005 Hyundai Elantra there about a year ago because I needed the breaks replaced. I took it there to get a quote on how much it would cost. My breaks were pretty bad on the drive over but when they called me to come pick up my car, my car wouldn’t even drive at all. When I would switch gears it made a loud thud sound and when I press on the gas the back wheels wouldn't even turn. Never had this problem before their “diagnostic check” and then on top of that they quoted me over $900 to get my breaks replaced and when I declined and said I would be going elsewhere they got upset. I genuinely think they tried to break my car so I couldn’t leave and would just pay them to fix it. I ended up getting it towed to one of my family friends and he replaced all of my breaks for $200??♀️ And fixed some random things that were suddenly broken out of nowhere. My boyfriend also went there not even 5 months ago and they charged him over $1200 to fix one of his older cars. They never fixed it he brought it back 3 times and they kept saying it was something different every time he went back and tried to charge him different amounts of money each time. I also noticed that when someone I know posts a review the company tries to say that they have never gone to Honest 1 and their not a customer lol. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone, notice how all their reviews above 1 star are from YEARS ago. I go to Hal Jones Automotive now WAY BETTER. Edit: Of course once again their trying to lie and say I’ve never gone there lol??Service: Auto maintenance

Not satisficed with they're service at all. Overcharged. Charged for my car being brought by tow truck? A couple more miscellaneous charges that of course weren't mentioned until I seen my invoice AFTER I paid. Not a shop i recommend or will be using in the future.

Business engages in deceptive practices. I bought VIP coupon. It clearly says on coupon that diagnosis was free in bold letters. The diagnosis is NOT FREE!! They wanted to charge me $160 to diagnose a misfire and oil leak. The diagnosis was clearly not free!Service: Auto engine diagnostic
