I made a reservation at hertz in Portland Oregon 330 Southwest Pine Street OR US 97204-2752, this location stated they could not rent a vehicle because of my license being damaged. I confirmed with an agent on the phone and they stated they do not have a policy about damaged license, only if the license is valid

DO NOT rent a car here at the Hertz Zurich Airport or most other locations if this is how Hertz doesn’t business without the most complete inspection EVER! You will most likely be charged for “damage” that is beyond belief. I’m including pictures of the “damage” I was charged over $450 for on a wheel after the very odd, overly meticulous return inspection. I have rented cars many times and this was just strange. It seems more like a way to get revenue. I will NEVER rent from Hertz again. Horrendous customer service, Hertz definitely missed the mark and doesn’t even care to follow up. I have asked Hertz multiple times from e-mails to phone calls to links from their app to simply review the incident and was never contacted. I was a gold member which basically means nothing. Hertz will never get my business again and now you can decide…just pay their significant fees to max out the damage coverage because there is a good chance you’ll be hit for some kind of “damage” when you return the vehicle. Better yet, rent elsewhere!

I am a Hertz Gold member. I recently rented a car in Portland, OR. I made a mistake on the dates of a rental. The agent said "no problem, we can modify the rental dates and have you on your way." What he didnt tell me is that his modification would cost me $177.00 more than my original rental. Minimally, he should have told me that the rental wwould be at a higher cost. Then I tried to fix it through Hertz customer service and they were completely unhelpful. Not going back to Hertz any time soon.

Hertz just can't get its act together. I am a gold member and reservations do not get entered properly and the vehicles are either the wrong class or my reservation cancelled. Seems I need to switch companies to one that provides proper customer service

DONT BOTHER BOOKING WITH THEM!! They are extremely unprofessional. I've called about 10x for a simple question & they keep picking up the call & hanging up. They clearly don't like there job. It's so unfortunate

As a Gold member, car rental at Hertz is usually very uneventful. I arrive, go straight to where the cars are with the large sign with my name and area where I can go pick up the car. Get into a car and then check out.Today, we had a little bit of a hiccup on the charges. I did not realize this until I got to the hotel. I tried calling this location directly with no luck, no one picked up the phone after 5 tries. I was only about 10mins from the airport so I decided to go back and go to the counter to speak with someone. There was a line... now I realized why no one picked up the phone.Then it was my turn. I was greeted by Nina. Showed her my rental agreement and showed her the issue. She did not hesitate to tell me she will see what she can do. Then proceeded to make the changes on my rental agreement to what I should have been charged. I so appreciate her going above and beyond to help me. Yes, if I was not staying closer to the airport, I do not know if I would have gone back to the counter. Yes, if I was here in PDX for a limited time, I would not have gone back to the counter to speak with someone.Glad all worked out and was helped out so easily.

The worst of the worst. I received a email from Hertz car rental with a confirmation number. I arrived at the airport and waited in a long line it hurts. When I arrived at the counter they said I do not have a reservation it hurts it's worth thrifty. Thrifty is on the adjacent counter. I said, but I received an email from Hertz with my confirmation. She said we are the same company. I said can you just May the car? She said no we don't have you in our system. Yet, she was looking at my reservation and told me that it was with thrifty. I know for a fact that hurts and thrifty share the same reservation system. At many airports around the world I have picked up my Hertz car at thrifty and my thrifty car at Hertz. I was redirected to an even longer line where I waited.

Pretty standard car rental place. The lady who helped looked me up and updated my membership. I didn't know I had gold and she helped with that and she could have easily overlooked it. She gave us some good tips for the area. As with any car rental, book ahead and make sure you know what you want and are willing to pay. They always try to up sell additional options so be careful. Overall it was a good rental experience but a little expensive.

DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GO HERE. DO NOT GO HERE. Unless you are already a member and have access to walk up to the car without going to the counter then do not go here. The attendant at the desk signed me up for additional insurance that I did not purchase and charged me an additional $209 in insurance that I clearly did not ask for. The same thing happen to a friend getting a rental just hours before I did. This location is a scam. The attendants are committing fraud by signing for insurance you did not request.

Never have I experienced such lousy customer service. On April 16th I rented a car at the Portland Airport for 4 days. First, I found myself walking throughout the rental area looking for the 3 locations of the car options. It was dusk, not easy to read the stall numbers and two employees were sitting in the office with their feet up at 5:45pm on a Sunday evening. Frustrating. Also, the front passenger seat was unusable. At the time of rental, I assumed that I merely needed to manually adjust it. However, after I was off premises and 15 minutes away, it was immovable. No note was left in the car or I would have changed it. The purpose of renting a 4 door sedan was to accommodate clients. Lastly, every number I tried to call to speak to a human being ended up with me being directed to the website with no option to offer this feedback live. Congratulations Hertz for making it easy to not even both calling you the next time.

If you have a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards profile, you can skip the line at the rental counter here at PDX and go straight into the garage, where they have electronic screens showing your name and the space in which your car is parked - thereby streamlining the checkout process. I've been through here many times over the last decade and have found the cars functional and reasonably (but not wholly) clean and the checkout and return process smooth and uneventful.If you're a member of the upper-tier President's Circle, you can even choose within a special bank of cars, some of which could be newer ones or, at least, a higher category than what you originally reserved, all without extra charge. Easy and dependable enough.

I love renting from Hertz, having the Hertz Gold membership makes it easy to get to your car right at arrival and get on your way with minimal delays and human interaction.Their rates are usually not the lowest, but if you have a corporate discount number or any other discount, that helps. To me, the time saved by using the Hertz Gold is worth every penny.
