“Joe helped me out with a single nylon washer. My hand controls on my Van came apart while I was driving. When they were put back together a nylon washer was left out making it hard to push the brakes. Not only did Joe install the washer for me, he also loaded my wheelchair up. Our Country could use more Joe’s like the one that works here.”

14811 NE Airport Way #400, Portland“Excellent customer service and good quality products. Employees took the time to ask what I needed and had extensive knowledge on the products they were selling, and made appropriate recommendations (without trying to push or "upsell"). In a way, they knew what I needed better than I did. Their products were higher quality than some of the junk you normally find in big box hardware stores. This will be my go-to place in the future.”

Not only did he find the right fitting hardware, he offered to install my license plates for me. He went above and beyond....thank you so much!...your help was greatly appreciated :))Cindy”

2842 NE Sandy Blvd, Portland“I could not believe I was actually in Portland. Incredibly fast and friendly service. I was expecting to wait a few days but the gentleman cut and drilled my order before I could even get my credit card out. Thanks for keeping my popcorn machine running for a bunch of hungry Scouts!”
“One of our new favorite places in Portland. Like a museum where you can buy things on display. The main guy's passion is infectious. Ask him about the T-shirt on the wall above the front desk.”
“I shudder at the thought of what I would do without this store. They have a great selection of items from lumber, hardwood countertops, finishing supplies, safety equipment, hardware, dust collection fittings, hand tools, power tools and larger machines. They are a sawstop dealer and have everything you need! Then there’s the staff. Such a wealth of information and experience from folks that are actually helpful! Stop reading this and GO! Go now! Support one of the best local businesses in Portland! Keep up the great work!?”
“Good selection, competitive prices, and friendly staff. I especially like that the employees treat women with respect and equity. I have been to many other businesses where the employees disregarded me, to talk to my husband. Not here. At 52nd, I feel comfortable and confident I’m receiving the same treatment any customer would.”
“I had an LED light for my houseplants that suddenly stopped working. I brought it in to see if they could fix it.They were super knowledgeable and friendly and figured out what was wrong with it. I just needed to replace the AC adaptor cable. They didnt sell it there but told me where I could find it. Also didnt charge me a dime! 10/10 will go there again. I've been to this location several times before and the staff has always been very knowledgable and willing to go the extra mile to help me get my project done.”
“Our cabinet contractor recommended that we connect with Cheryl Boss for guidance on our kitchen cabinet knob and pull hardware and sinks. The options & selections were great & to be honest a bit overwhelming but as per the recommendation, Cheryl was great. She interviewed us for what we were after, helped us narrow our selections and giving us options to meet our needs for budget and timeline & we love the results. Thanks to NBH & Cheryl Boss for the support.”
“I've had several positive experiences here. I've worked with a guy named Dathan a few times and he's terrific. One time he spent fifteen minutes with me helping me find the right .21 cent screw for a manual coffee grinder I was trying to fix. That's the thing about this place - it's got the stuff, and it's also got the staff who are happy to help figure out which stuff to get and how to use it.”

12555 NE Marx St, Portland“This store is underrated. It is well run. It is always well organized, tidy, well stocked, and as everyone has come to expect, well priced. Whoever does the inventory selection for this store is doing a fantastic job. This store understands its target market. I find stuff here that I cannot find at either an auto parts store or a home improvement chain. Also, the workers here are friendly and useful. So after multiple visits, this store gets 5 stars. A note to management: keep up the good work.”
“Right down the road from us and so helpful.Even if they don't have the product you are looking for they will point you in the right direction.Good thing they have about everything we need though!”

544 SE 78th Ave, Portland“Thanks for being a local company that supplies furnace parts. My furnace wasn't working properly and I had three separate repair companies come and evaluate it. None of them completely diagnosed it correctly or fixed it. I ended up buying a flame sensor and igniter and fixed it myself. Thanks!”

200 SE Stark St, Portland“Winks is the best hardware store in the city. 5 stars every time but once, and I write this only so Winks can know and improve: i needed one stainless steel screw for a piece of hardware they sell. I went in to buy it, grabbed the door hardware sample they have on display and was able to point to the exact screw i needed. But for some reason they refused to back it out even the tiniest bit to match the screw. It was very weird and unusual for such an awesome and helpful store. They sold me to wrong screw three times that week. I eventually had the right diameter and threading but still too long and had to hacksaw it down at home to make it fit.By far the best hardware store in the city in terms of selection (for what they sell), quality, knowledge, and customer service. Just that one weird experience that felt like I was in the twilight zone.”

“Always have great customer service there they know what they're doing and if they don't know they will find out and fix it for you. Everyone there is friendly it's great neighborhood edition to St John's.”
“100/10 experience. We went in for some knobs to replace a couple cruddy ones on furniture. Left fantasizing about remodeling a home with my wife. Absolutely beautiful vintage everything from porcelain sinks to doors, knobs, light fixtures, glass, antique door locks and so much more. You could absolutely get lost in here (we sure did). A couple things need some elbow grease to get polished up but the patina is beautiful and authentic, everything is priced very well, and I felt like my creative gears were really grinding when we left. They even made sure we had the right size screws for what we needed. I'm truly excited to go back.”
“Best prices in town! Please support this business. This guy charged me $20 for the nuts and bolts I needed. At home depot same order would have been over $100. Crazy how affordable this place is!”
“So thankful to have Hankins in the neighborhood! We’ve live here since 2002 and have done A LOT of home projects! I will always go to Hankins FIRST as it’s a 99% chance what we need is there. Although it may be a small store, don’t let that fool you as they have a ton of items and the employees are super helpful, friendly and know their stuff!”
“We always can count on good service and wide product range at ACE. The employees are friendly and know their business and their store layout for products. It is not like Home Depot!!!!!”
“Love this place. They're conveniently located and were super helpful when we got our chickens. They also carry booster vaccinations for cats and dogs, which came in handy when some feral cats moved in.”
“The absolute best community resource I've used. We just moved to Lents and were a bit strapped for cash after buying a house, and this tool library was (and still is) a life saver. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. I hope this place stays here forever.”

12520 NE Whitaker Way, Portland“Best fence supplier in the NW. Run a small fencing company (Hero Fence) and they are the only place I will shop for chainlink and ornamental fence. Ask fro Dwayne.”
“I've been helped at least three times at this establishment with my chainsaws and every time the technicians handled my problems expertly and for a fair price. I highly recommend them.”
“Perfect little hardware store! I came in searching for lawn care products like lime, fertilizer, and grass seed. I was so appreciative and impressed by a fellow that knew quite a bit about lawn care… even to the point that he knew not to sell me fertilizer with phosphorus (not necessary/reduces nutrient pollution). Very helpful!”
