βPerfect little hardware store! I came in searching for lawn care products like lime, fertilizer, and grass seed. I was so appreciative and impressed by a fellow that knew quite a bit about lawn careβ¦ even to the point that he knew not to sell me fertilizer with phosphorus (not necessary/reduces nutrient pollution). Very helpful!β
βA carefully curated and organized (and really beautiful) shop full of neat stuff. Focused on hardware, of course, but still one of the best antique shops I've been to.β

βAs a general contractor it's important to me to be able to find things when I need them. I always seem to find exactly what I need at Mr Plywood whenever I go there especially when it's something that's a little bit more difficult to find. Their staff is always friendly and helpful.
I had a difficult time finding a specific Shake siding everywhere else but was able to find it hereβ
βJoe helped me out with a single nylon washer. My hand controls on my Van came apart while I was driving. When they were put back together a nylon washer was left out making it hard to push the brakes. Not only did Joe install the washer for me, he also loaded my wheelchair up. Our Country could use more Joeβs like the one that works here.β

I have been to many other businesses where the employees disregarded me, to talk to my husband. Not here. At 52nd, I feel comfortable and confident Iβm receiving the same treatment any customer would.β

In a way, they knew what I needed better than I did. Their products were higher quality than some of the junk you normally find in big box hardware stores. This will be my go-to place in the future.β

βI've had several positive experiences here. I've worked with a guy named Dathan a few times and he's terrific. One time he spent fifteen minutes with me helping me find the right .21 cent screw for a manual coffee grinder I was trying to fix. That's the thing about this place - it's got the stuff, and it's also got the staff who are happy to help figure out which stuff to get and how to use it.β
βI've bought a dozen or so chicks from this store, and feed and supplys to go along with them. Those were good experiences, but the one that stands out in my memory was the time I visited the store and was helped by a young man with a kiddie pool strapped to his back with a bungie cord. He politely informed me that he was actually a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle before ringing up my purchases. Absolutely the best customer service interaction I've had in a feed store, and it's kept me coming back.β

βThis store is underrated. It is well run. It is always well organized, tidy, well stocked, and as everyone has come to expect, well priced. Whoever does the inventory selection for this store is doing a fantastic job. This store understands its target market. I find stuff here that I cannot find at either an auto parts store or a home improvement chain. Also, the workers here are friendly and useful. So after multiple visits, this store gets 5 stars. A note to management: keep up the good work.β
βWinks is the best hardware store in the city. 5 stars every time but once, and I write this only so Winks can know and improve: i needed one stainless steel screw for a piece of hardware they sell. I went in to buy it, grabbed the door hardware sample they have on display and was able to point to the exact screw i needed. But for some reason they refused to back it out even the tiniest bit to match the screw. It was very weird and unusual for such an awesome and helpful store. They sold me to wrong screw three times that week. I eventually had the right diameter and threading but still too long and had to hacksaw it down at home to make it fit.By far the best hardware store in the city in terms of selection (for what they sell), quality, knowledge, and customer service. Just that one weird experience that felt like I was in the twilight zone.β
βI walked in with no clue how to find my things, talked to Randy, he jumped in a grabbed everything I needed, and it ended up being a 5 minute errand and I am so thankful! Randy gets 10 stars!β

β100/10 experience. We went in for some knobs to replace a couple cruddy ones on furniture. Left fantasizing about remodeling a home with my wife. Absolutely beautiful vintage everything from porcelain sinks to doors, knobs, light fixtures, glass, antique door locks and so much more. You could absolutely get lost in here (we sure did). A couple things need some elbow grease to get polished up but the patina is beautiful and authentic, everything is priced very well, and I felt like my creative gears were really grinding when we left. They even made sure we had the right size screws for what we needed. I'm truly excited to go back.β
βThis is WAY overdue! For the last 3 years, Central Welding, on NE MLK, has been the ONLY place I go to buy my 5-lb COΒ² tanks. And even though they have the BEST price, what matters most to me is their AMAZING customer service. They always make me feel appreciated, even though I only come in every couple months. I'd give them 10 Stars if could!β
βSo thankful to have Hankins in the neighborhood! Weβve live here since 2002 and have done A LOT of home projects! I will always go to Hankins FIRST as itβs a 99% chance what we need is there. Although it may be a small store, donβt let that fool you as they have a ton of items and the employees are super helpful, friendly and know their stuff!β
