A perfect example of a cute and quaint children's bookstore filled with unique items and a friendly atmosphere. Each shelf is packed with books and other goods, as well as recommendations and knick knacks. You won't necessarily find a bargain here but they do have a small sale section and prices are comparable to other book sellers. Masks are encouraged but not required anymore. Street parking only.

I love supporting independent book sellers!! Such a cute bookshop! It is small but PACKED with books for babies/kids, along with toys and plenty of stuffed animals tucked among it all to entice little hands. We are visiting Portland just for a few days, but if I lived close enough I would definitely take part in their story times with my daughter. There is a nice, covered outdoor patio to the side where I assume those take place. I also saw on their calendar they offer sign ups for kids to come practice reading to a therapy dog! (ahh, I just can't...insert sobbing emoji here)

Our favorite children's bookstore. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. The shop is small but has plenty of books and fun things to look at. A true gem!

Small bookstore with a decent amount of variety. I liked that they had books in languages other than English, but the selection was small and limited. We came in looking for a book for Earth Day and were not able to find something that fit the bill, but we did find another book on a different subject that our child now loves to read. Will visit again.

Green Bean Books is the BEST bookstore I've been to in Portland. The staff are friendly and accommodating and always know exactly what books to recommend. The energy in the store is adorable and if I could spend all my spare time in the store I would. Earl and Rowan are the best! Get all ya books at the Greenest Bean!

Green Bean books is a great locally owned, small bookstore for kids. Earl seems to know and has read every book in the store, and all they want to do is please the readers. The place is small and can get crowded, so we try not to linger too long. They love to give during Halloween by giving out gift bags with Halloween designs on them, and there is always a line. But the books are moderately priced and always a great selection. Easy to find one for a gift or for your own child

Who needs Goodreads, Amazon, or Google when you have Earl. He knows EVERY book fit for EVERY person that walks through the magic little green door. Similar to the Harry Potter Sorting hat, but EVEN BETTER. Take my money, Earl. Green Bean Books where everyone who enters wins! Just lovely!

I was excited to take my kids here but as we walked through the door I was “greeted” with the store rules and told I’d only have 20 minutes to shop. It felt like I was in a china shop, not a kids book store. We didn’t feel welcome or comfortable.
