We love this shop!!! Great place for crystals, rocks, gems, jewelry, artifacts from around the world, and of course our favorite the Zoltar fortune teller!!!! We never pass up an opportunity to check out all the great merchandise when we are on Hawthorne!!!

Walking into the store at first it looked like a wonderful place with lots of great shiny treasures, but then I noticed the Orisha bracelets being sold like something out of a curio shop for the eccentricity of it, the Spanish speaking religious decor, the African Yoruba “decorative” statues of deities, the virgen de Guadalupe all as a mash-up of different cultures in an effort to look interesting. Not to mention the appropriation, the lack of greeting/warmth from the personnel, and the constant watching. I ended up getting nothing while my friend shopped. The energy in there was hostile and also very bad because buying cultural items to sell without the appropriate knowledge or respect is just appropriation and disgusting. Will not be returning!

Very kind people here. The stones and gems are gorgeous as well, plus, they have a very large selection so there’s something for everyone. Had to leave early because I felt sick but I will return. Thanks again to the all the staff and Daria for helping me.

Great customer service without hovering.Still has great stuff.I used to come here from the suburbs, 1980’s-2003 or so.Downstairs is closed now but it’s still awesome.Glad it has survived !

I have loved this store for years, but today I had a special experience there. My partner and I walked in with our shy toddler, I was crouched over her cautiously trying to anticipate her next moves so she didn't knock anything over or break anything. Daria, a staff member walked up to us and I was so nervous that the store might have some policy or age limit or something(as there are a lot of delicate items) and was jaw droppingly grateful for what she said. "Hey mama bear, anything she wants to explore that's safe for her, she can do it. She can touch whatever, pick it up, anything she wants." And then proceeded to play a game of peek with her which got a few smiles( ) thank you Daria, and thank you gold door for being such a gem. ?

weird, i wrote a review for this spot but i just looked back and saw my text was gone. maybe they paid to get it removed? regardless, i got racially profiled in this store in 2021. there were other people in the store and the lady working only watched me. when i asked to see the gold earrings she told me they were “very expensive” and i proceeded to tell her that i had the money to spend. felt very cruel & uncalled for. never stepped foot in this place again.
