Avoid this business at all costs. Estate Jewelry is essentially a , " low end pawn shop " . The owners knowledge base of of fine jewelry, is essentially nonexistent. Went into this business based on good " Yelp Reviews ", and the experience was beyond disappointing. Brought a beautiful diamond ring in to sell, with a current appraisal from a local, certified gemologist/ jeweler/ appraiser. The business owner refused to look at any of our paperwork, or evaluate the quality of our piece. He simply looked at it , and through an offer out of less than one third of the market value, not retail , but private party market value. I believe the business essentially operates on paying no more than a few hundred dollars out , regardless of value. My guess is this business practice is based on the current homeless, and drug addicts that they deal with on a given day. In conclusion, just avoid, not worth a trip here.

After reading all of the great reviews about Bob buying vintage jewelry, I decided to reach out about a beautiful 14k gold ring that I had, in hopes of receiving any information about his establishment and how that process usually goes. The only words I received back were "sorry no interest". I find this extremely unprofessional, dismissive, and lazy. I'm not sure how he has so many glowing reviews if this is any indication of how he does business.

I'm not sure why I didn't write this review sooner. When my now husband and I were looking for an engagement wedding ring, We were looking for something unique. I have always loved vintage and antique jewelry. My husband had dealt with Bob in the past and so we started looking there. This was not a vintage piece but I fell in love with it in the window. It's from a limited designer with a yellow diamond in the center and very detailed filigree. Bob and his staff were wonderful to work with and if you're looking for something unique I would definitely check them out their inventory changes frequently but they do focus on vintage and unique pieces. Due to the pandemic and some of the issues downtown Portland it is best to now schedule by appointment or contact the shop directly. I would love to see their continued business in downtown Portland.

I had several pieces of diamond jewelry that I inherited, that it was time to say goodbye to. Bob was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Even though the jewelry was not extremely valuable, he gave me the best price out of the few people I went to see. Importantly, he did not denigrate the jewelry. (Also importantly, he did not, uninvited, start yammering about his political views and guns and liberties, which another jewelry guy nearby inexplicably did.) I would recommend Bob at Estate Jewelry if you need to sell fine jewelry.

Stopped in on a whim looking inquire about having a ring buffed and cleaned up and she was super friendly had me out the door in less than 10 mins no charge! Ring is looking nice and fresh would give them a chance just based on customer service ??
