I have been buying and trading in audio and home theater gear with Kurt and Echo Audio since he opened his original store in the 1990’s. Echo Audio has great prices on new and used gear as well the best customer service and most knowledgeable staff! So if you are looking for affordable or top of the line high-end music or home theater components in Portland or on-line, I would highly recommend checking out Echo Audio!!!!??

The team at Echo Audio are excellent. Professional, knowledgeable and fair. They have a great shop and gave me top dollar for my McIntosh gear. I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

I am so glad I went to Echo Audio to upgrade our home audio setup instead of Best Buy. I was helped right away! When I explained what we had -- a years old tuner/receiver we'd never fully mastered, a CD player that no longer works, & no way to stream music or podcasts aside from a tinny little speaker-- I was introduced to a pair of small but powerful British KEF wireless speakers that I could pair with my IPhone via Bluetooth to stream music & podcasts. Additionally, the speakers are now connected to our Smart TV for superior sound quality. My husband & I had some trouble figuring out how to get everything communicating, but 2 free home visits from the salesman who sold me the speakers got us up & running. We are so indebted to Matt for bringing us into the 21st century! We love our new audio system!

If I could give them zero stars I would. They made me an offer for a mint used item I was selling. I double checked to see how long the offer was good for. They said it was good for 30 days. I got back to them 15 days later and accepted the offer. The next day, Kurt, the owner, cancelled the offer, even though I had previously accepted the offer, because he saw one on sale for only a little more than the price they had offered. He apologized, but that is dishonest and very poor customer relations. I used to own an audio shop myself, and this is something I never and would have never done. Needless to say, I don't recommend doing business with them.

I have to give this place a 7 out of 5, great conversation, full service, they provide prior and after support, they really take the time and effort to provide the best fit from a product point of view. This is where I will go when I'm looking for audio expertise.

Fantastic selection of high end audio equipment from phono cartridges to incredible speakers. And their repairs have always been spot on and issue free. Spendy. But worth it.

If I could give this shop a 110 star review I would, and reading all the great reviews preceding this one I am not surprised that they all feel the same. First off, the nicest people you could meet and absolute audio people in love with what they do. I have learned so much there ( I am a tube person ), they have put me on to new things that completely uplifted my audio experience at home. Never pressure to buy anything, always have all the time you want and by far the best information and staff of any audio shop I have ever been in. Fun place with cool mix of vintage and new stuff. I love their commitment to vinyl , and they had the new Hana Unami Blue waiting for me, and offered to install without charge on my table. They really seemed to know their gear too!

Stopped by to get an idea of what we might want for a multipurpose audio setup, and left with not only some incredible starter equipment, but also feeling like we had made friends. The entire staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to advise and educate on anything you want to learn. Undoubtedly the best customer service in all of Portland!

Went in here today to get help with finding a one off part to repair an older piece of audio equipment. They jumped to help me find what i needed and made sure it worked/was tested before i left. Above and beyond service
