John and team at Dane motors are honest trustworthy mechanics. When they price their work they are transparent about costs for parts and labor.

I cannot rave enough about Dane Motors!!!!The owner, John, consistently goes well beyond expectations to work with clients for an affordable price, and gets them back on the road as quickly as possible. And, they offer free loaner cars while your car is getting worked in! Dane Motors has kept my geriatric Hyundai going far better than her mileage would suggest. I am so lucky to have found such a great mechanic near me!

Ok. I request a synthetic oil change and a transmission fluid change. The work was completed the same day. The people were pleasant to communicate with. One mistake occurred with the window tag that indicated 3000 miles to the next oil change. It should have read 10000 miles or (years) to the next oil change. Everything is working smoothly, no problems other than indicated have occurred.

The people at Danes are really kind, and seem to want to do their best to get your car in and out as fast as possible.I had some issues with them that resulted in me having to return 4 or so times to get my car fixed which was a bummer, but I appreciated that they were willing to fix the mistake made/ get the initial problem solved. John gave me a ride home the day they made the first mistake (was an issue with a part of the rear diff being the wrong part installed causing a nasty grinding noise when I drove off, and then the check engine light came back on) and was super kind and I didn’t feel as though he was talking down to me, being 22.I think the issue was we were all tired of how long it was taking to get the stupid check engine light off. After coming back for the fourth time, I never wanted to see these guys again, no matter how nice they were haha.I had agreed to replace the catalytic converter, which hurt my heart, soul, and wallet. When I saw that light turn on three times after I dropped so much money I was pissed, and they were definitely unhappy with the result as well. They were kind and gave me a loaner car, and drove it to the front of the shop, keys in ignition and everything which was super nice, but when I got home I realized the car had no license plates. I’d say half on me for not checking, but also probably not the best idea to give out a car that doesn’t have plates on it even if it’s registered. That would’ve been an awkward and possibly expensive ticket.I think I wouldn’t go back to Danes for anything else car related because I felt like they were trying to rush through things and get work done as fast as possible, which I get. Everyone’s trying to just live and make money and i really do get that diagnosing cars isn’t a perfect science.I’d recommend them for simple problems where you know what’s wrong from the start, and probably not recommend going for larger jobs or diagnosing problems.Ps, you guys left a grape vape in my car, as well as some rags. It made me laugh, and the rags come in handy for checking fluids and stuff- thank you! The vape not so much lol, but still funny. Thanks for taking care of my car the best you could at the time, for reference, I went in for the first time 1-4-2024 and last time 1-24-2024 ish.

Took my car in one Saturday for a quick inspection under the hood after noticing my steering was locking up, and making squealing noises. They inspect the engine, belts etc, and I’m told that I need a new power steering pump AND power steering belt. I ask, are you sure it’s not just the belt? He says no, even saying that he is %99 percent sure it’s a “bad” pump AND belt and it’s very unsafe to drive. Several red flags. Something told me he was not he wasn’t being honest. Well, I am glad I trusted my gut. I took my car to Macs Radiator and had a mechanic look at my car and guess what?! I only needed the belt replaced like I suspected. I ordered the belt and with labor it set me back only $115! My pump was fine!! Saved me a ton! So there you have it. Trust the negative reviews. I can only assume they felt like since I was a woman they could run game on me? Who knows.

These guys are a huge rip off. My car broke down in front of there shop so i felt like i had no choice but to ask for there help at the time. They "replaced" my spark plugs (with spark plugs that don't even have the clip that hold them in place) and within a month of visiting them my car broke down on the highway. I had instagram user these_butch_hands come look at my car. She unplugged and replugged my spark plugs and put a ziptie around them to make sure it held in place and it fixed my car. Not only did they miss report my mileage and spell my name wrong on the invoice they charged me $1000 for a fix i had to get AGAIN. And from someone else for $50. These guys will rob you blind. It goes without saying if you are foced to use them like i did. Dont use there personal loan deal from koalafi.

John and Allen are the only place to take your vehicle. They are extremely competent, honest in their dealings, friendly and I have complete trust in their abilities. I have dealt with them many times and am more than impressed with their willingness to go the extra mile for their customers. They deliver.

Came in with high hopes that I'd found a reputable, honest business.1st red flag-Me, 'Can I have the parts back that you replace?' (Catalytic converters) Al-'No. In Oregon you can't. You can buy it back, though.' ?? 2nd red flag, 'your brakes are shot.' ..Me..'just brake pads, right?' 'No! That'll be $800. Oh, wait, I can get it down to $500'. Les Schwab, 'your brakes are in good condition ' Now, I'm wondering if they screwed me any other way. Ladies, be careful. They think we are dumb. Updated, thank you for your response. It makes me feel a little better. Still, not convinced about the catalytic converter law, you speak of. I couldn't find it anywhere.
