the best art store in town. both for the range of supplies (oil & wax based colored pencils! 100% cotton paper options besides arches!) and the BOGO section with really nice brushes. everything from jelly roll pens to Daniel Smith watercolor to raw pieces of masonite. as a watercolorist/acrylic painter, I love the selection of surfaces available. and you can call the staff and they will, unprompted, thoroughly check inventory for you! never disappointed. i love this store.

This might be the last art store this side of the river. They even still have drafting tables and easels. Paper, paper and then some, rag paper, rice paper, construction paper, metalic paper....and of course velum and mylar.Paints, pastels, gouache, inks, markers pencils, clay, sculpting tools, armature wire.... and now I sound like some personal add from the 1990's.Just go there and pretty sure you'll find something just for you.Oh, if you are into building models, they have what you need there too.

Great selection of art supplies! I like trying different mediums and I can always find a good starter set of the materials/tools that I need. The staff is very friendly and give helpful recommendations. Well priced and I'm glad to be able to support an independent art supply store!

This is a well stocked and helpful place for art supplies on the east side of Portland. For an artist, there is never enough variety in the offerings of any art store, but they do pretty well at Columbia.

MORE OPTIONS THAN BLICK AND CHEAPER. I have not known where to go (I'm usually located in PDX) and this place is a nightmare(positive) for artists. just about everything is marked with price and oh MY FAVORITE THING about this place are the sections/little bins of used or hardly tampered product (like a broken tube cap) they keep them and sell them marked down!! absolutely amazing. im so broke

This is a great art supply store & the staff is very friendly and helpful! It seems mostly for drawing/painting, but they do have a little bit of everything. Good prices, and I definitely appreciate the student discount!

This place is huge and filled with any craft supply you need. Some.of the prices are a bit steep but if you're a student, they give a generous discount of 20% off!
