A wonderful wine shop located in Alberta. Each wine has a great description next to it written by the owner himself. I left here with two really great wines, a primitivo and some type of dessert wine that I am excited to try based off the description!

I dropped in again yesterday to pick up a specific bottle of wine for a wine tasting event. The owner is always so knowledgeable and helpful. He showed me 10 wines in Italy, and even though he happened to be out of the specific region I was looking for, I left with a quality Italian wine that I’ll look forward to sharing with a special friend. I’ll be back!

Wonderful experience! I came in to browse and left with 6 bottles. Norman is so helpful and knowledgeable. The way they merchandise the wine shows the attention that they give to each bottle, each one set slightly separate with a great write-up vs. having so many bottles crammed onto shelves. The wines were unique with very moderate price points. This was my best wine purchasing experience in Portland.

So many wine shops organize themselves in the same way, cabs this way, chards that way, Pinots all over. But our trip here proved that there is another way wine shops may be organized, by the stories they tell. Outside of region, outside of style, outside of grape species, Cherries & Figs tells the story that exists in each bottle and gives them their due space to show off. A wine shop where cliche terms such as bio dynamic or spontaneous fermentation have no place, and each bottle is judged on taste and taste alone. At the same time the classic places such as Burgundy or Bordeaux are missing from the lineup, and are replaced with usually underrepresented locations such as Hungary, Austria, Australia, and Africa. Truly a unique and one of a kind wine buying experience.

Came in today to buy a bottle of wine for my uncle for Christmas, and Norman was a big help (I don’t have any knowledge of wine). He was super friends, very knowledgeable and help me picked out a bottle with the limited information that I could give him. BTW my uncle loved it will most likely be shopping here again in the near future for gifts

Absolutely fantastic wine shop. Highly curated, ever rotating selections of both typical and unusual wines, all delicious. The owner, Norman, is extremely knowledgeable and has great information about everything in stock (and is always happy to share/suggest food pairings or chat with is much appreciated). If you are looking for help finding a gift, a bottle to have with dinner, or something new to share with friends, this is the spot for you.Great selection of rare and aged wines and dessert wines as well

Cherries & Figs is a newer wine shop, well worth checking out. They carry a small, beautifully curated selection of excellent wines. Each bottle has accompanying notes and a fair price. Norman is always happy to make a personalized recommendation, and is welcoming and helpful with wine newbies. I cannot recommend this shop highly enough!
