I came in for a wardrobe refresh and scheduled a personal shopping appointment with Chad. He texted me pretty soon after we scheduled the appointment to get a feel for my style and preferences. Then, the morning of the appointment, he arrived early to pull a fitting room full of great picks. Chad did a fantastic job not only with the initial pull, but taking my feedback and putting it into action. He made me feel great and was honest about how the clothes fit and looked. The appointment ran an over, but Chad was super accommodating. He was a pleasure to work with and even followed up after the appointment to check in.

I'm writing this review to specifically highlight the exemplary service I received from Grayson, brand ambassador, at the Trish McEvoy makeup counter. Graysons ability to listen to the prospective customer is an asset to any organization. Kudos to the hiring Manager. Excellent job Grayson!! You brighten our downtowns darkness.

This review is for my experience shopping at the Beauty section today in the evening. I feel really bad that I can't remember the person's name who assisted me but their pronouns were they/them and I feel like their name was something like Brandon but I'm horrible with names. I was told there would be something at the bottom of my receipt to review my experience but sadly I'm not finding a way to do that.I came in and asked where their Clé de Peau section was, sad to find they didn't have one at this Nordstrom. The person helping me explained that they no longer carry that brand in Portland Nordstrom and only had unopened, returned products. I was really bummed out about that, I'm 35 and I used to like Mac before their products went downhill, I also love Bobbi Brown for some things but one day a nice person in the Bellevue, WA location introduced me to Clé de Peau and I've been hooked ever since. I've tried so many of the upscale, mid-priced brands & even some of the lower end and nothing lives up to Clé de Peau, believe me I've tried to find others now that it's so hard to find at Nordstroms but even Bobbi Brown and Ogee are crap compared to Clé de Peau. Clé de Peau concealers & foundations melt into your skin like butter. I feel it's a huge mistake to not carry it in all the stores because if you haven't tried it you'll never understand.ANYWAYS, luckily I knew the name and shade of the product I wanted and they set out to help me order it, they even found it in stock at the mall near Tigard but I hate driving all the way up there. Traffic is HELL all the time and we are in Vancouver, WA- sadly they shut down their Vancouver Mall Nordstrom so I have to drive into Portland for any Nordstrom shopping, it's far enough in traffic (which is present at all hours they are open on the freeways) to get to downtown, we never want to double that drive time (or more) to go to the other one so online ordering it was!We got to chatting as they helped me place the order, I had a lapse in paying attention because we were talking about their recent move from Texas and our recent move back to the PNW from NC. We bonded over crazy hot weather stories loUnfortunately I didn't catch that the system had forgotten my current address! Before I knew it I was getting a receipt and had to ask where it was being sent! I felt to bad but they assured me it was fine and they would get it sorted. It turned out that even the email associated with my account was incorrect (this actually happens often, for some reason Nordstrom's system always reverts to an old email address that I no longer can access, it happens over and over).For some reason they couldn't just return it they had to call customer service and were transferred 3 times before they could put the return through. I felt bad but they were so kind about it and very patient. Once customer service finally confirmed the return they updated my info and got the product repurchased. I used to go to Nordstrom for so many reasons, I grew up going there, I was taught this is where quality and customer service was. I feel that Nordstrom has gone downhill over the years, especially with their return policy's and holding policies now, they used to be a standout- now they are just a letdown.It's in-person customer service that made this experience shine for me and made me want to come back. Nordstrom- please continue to hire people who are kind and actually care about your customers like the person who helped me today. PLEASE promote from within instead of looking elsewhere. You have a really awesome employee right under your noses.My interactions with this employee brightened my day. They were so kind and attentive and knowledgeable about the products, even products the current store doesn't sell.They had on red sparkles on by their eyes. I really want to thank them. They gave me some samples as a sorry for the delay, it wasn't necessary but made the experience even more lovely.Thank you!P.S. P

I'm so disappointed! What happened Nordstroms? I so wanted to find a special dress for my brother's wedding and some vacation outfits. The service is not what it used to be. The selection and quality is also disappointing! Where did all your amazing buyers and top notch sellers go? I drove all the way from Happy Valley to be met with a lack luster experience that Nordstrom's Rack or Macy's would have delivered at half the price and a time saver in driving! Go to Marios if you value customer service and special and stylish fashion pieces!

Popped in to grab some eyeliner. Right away I was greeted by a lovely woman in the Lancome department. She was very helpful. I've been to this location many times. Nice clean facility with lots of security which makes you feel safe being that it's in the heart of the city where lots of chaos happens.

I was lucky enough to connect with Andrea, a makeup artist at this location and talk to her about my beauty needs. I'm a mom without a ton of time, so I want skincare and makeup products that are easy and pack a punch. She gave me recommendations from the high to low end of my budget with the benefits of all. Some of these have become staples in my routine, including the CT magic cream and eye palette. I cant thank her enough and look forward to working with her for literally all of my beauty purchases going forward.

***Update 7/16/2023***Returned to this Nordstrom for mother-daughter makeovers again, with the same daughter I was here with in 2017. And, boy, has a lot of the makeover policies changed here in the past six years. But you know what hasn't changed? Nordstrom's excellent attention to detail and stellar customer service.So apparently nowadays, when you get a makeover at any cosmetic counter here, they "recommend" you buy a minimum of three of that cosmetic brand's products. (In the past, there was no obligation to buy, and they even gave you free samples often). I guess this is but a sign of the times now. When we were there, there was an opening at the MAC counter, and as luck would have it, there were two employees/cosmetic reps there, available to do the makeovers for my daughter and me. As luck would have it, I had Nolan do my makeover - and he was fabulous!My kid and I loved the whole makeover experience, and although we weren't MAC fans in the past, we feel that the brand has revamped itself over the years, and we were both impressed with their product line and the quality of the products. And Nolan was wonderful; not only did he do a great job with my makeover, he gave me a discount because it was my birthday. That was super nice of him.

My kids were on Spring Break and we decided to take a weekend trip to Portland from Seattle. Not all locations carry certain designer brands. I called ahead to inquire on a pair of designer sandals and was dispatched to Corey H. I was told these sandals had to be order and mailed to the store. He explained the process to me, and I paid for the expedited shipping (which was still less expensive than the tax here in Seattle). I needed these sandals for a wedding in TX next month. Corey was able to secure the sandals for me and was very patient and understand about my complex situation. His calm demeanor put me at ease and transaction went very smooth. Thanks Corey for your great service.

Nordstrom had great customer service. There were lots of friendly employees who helped us out in the Chieu section, beauty section, and designer bag section. I was really pleased with the options that they had, and we bought several things.

I love this location and am grateful that downtown has a Nordstrom! It is right across the street from Pioneer Square. It's beautiful during the holidays when the tree is lit! The staff are consistently attentive. This location doesn't have the widest selection, but there is a Chanel and Gucci boutique. I would say they have the basics covered with the ability to order whatever you need. They also have a cafe on the second floor and a coffee walk up on the outside.

I have always loved Charlotte Tilbury products and decided to try their foundation. I went to the Oxford John Lewis counter & was completely blown away by the excellent customer service I received. The team member who helped me was so knowledgeable and tailored the whole experience to my specific needs/skin. The colour match was spot on, the best I’ve had for a long time. I left the store feeling amazing. Thank you so so much

Lovely products but not so lovely custom service. Brought the highlighter, which is really nice, after a few weeks it just all broke up but CT didn’t want to know. Said it was over 30 days since purchasing so nothing could be done! Shocking.
