I brought my (2) seat cushions from my Genoa style couch to the shop to see about having the foam replaced. After over 5 years of heavy use (I also sleep on the couch) they were starting to soften up more than I like. The shop manager offered to upgrade the foam in one of the cushions to the denser 2.75 lb, and a higher firmness level to see if it would be to my satisfaction. They did this while I waited (only 10 minutes). After I tested it and it was fine they replaced the foam in the second cushion in only 5 minutes! He also only charged me what the upgrade cost for the denser foam would have been when I originally bought the couch. I couldn't have been more pleased and satisfied with the service!

Ordered a custom sofa through Portland Furniture Company. Beautiful looking, but very poor quality. Within the first 6 months, springs collapsed, requiring me to rent a truck to bring the sofa back to Biltwell for repair. A few months later, the frame began to squeak loudly, and continues to do so. (And I weigh 160 lbs, so am not taxing the frame with my weight.)Now, 4 years later, the faux leather material on the seat cushion is falling apart. I brought these issues to Biltwell's attention; they have no response other than that the warranty has expired. (Despite the fact that the leatherette material was claimed to be tested to sustain more than tens of thousands of "rubs," and has come nowhere close to this limit.)I wanted to support a local Portland furniture manufacturer, but these guys just don't get it. The name is a misnomer; their products are definitely NOT built well. I recommend buying elsewhere.

After visiting several furniture stores in Portland, I visited the Castellano Furniture showroom. I sat on several sofas and found them very comfortable. The showroom has thousands on fabric samples to choose from. I took several home and choose my fabric. I ordered a living room sofa and family room sofa in different styles and colors. Although the sales associate said it would take 8 weeks, the 2 sofas were delivered in 6 weeks. I am very happy with my brand new sofas. I am a detailed oriented person and was impressed with the stitching detail on both the cushions and the pillows. If you are in the market for a contemporary and stylish sofa, I highly recommend Castellano Furniture in Portland.

It pains me to write this review because Castellano was my go-to studio for custom furniture for twelve years dating back to 2012 for the interior design firm I was employed. Their quality has always been consistently excellent workmanship with an attention to detail and customer service that was unmatched by any other furniture manufacturer locally, if not nationally.Unfortunately for the customers whose spaces I furnish, I'll never use them again because of their non-responsiveness and lack of interest in providing even the most basic levels of customer service. Like so many companies, it appears that Castellano is having a very hard time hiring workers who have a work ethic. I called Castellano to schedule an appointment for my client to visit their showroom so they could view their quality firsthand and look through the swatches that I had previously curated. Because the hours for Castellano's showroom is limited, my clients had to take off of work and so there was a lot of excitement that had been pre-built in about the capabilities this manufacturer had to carry out my vision for furnishing their home.Immediately upon my clients meeting Castellano representative Evelina Hanchett their first impressions were very off-putting and deflating, giving off a strong vibe like she was doing us a favor that she would be making herself available to us. It was not an unfriendly or arrogant encounter, but more of a we were bothering her vibe. We spent about 10 to 15 minutes or so looking through the furniture they had on display and I then asked my clients if they were ready to see some of the swatches I had in mind and peeked my head into her office to politely ask if she could help show us the swatch books I'd selected. Perhaps we caught her at a bad in the middle of an email, surfing the web or being on her phone, because she stood up, did not say a thing and walked over to the wall of swatches and said something to the effect "What is it you need to see?". It was not a rude response, but it was one like we were interrupting her work, which rubbed my clients the wrong way, so much so that the husband of my client asked "Did we come at a bad time?".Evelina stood nearby and as she started to walk away said "if there is anything else you need, please come get me" to which I replied if she could briefly provide an explanation of their custom process and to get a sense of their current lead times. I was absolutely stunned when she replied that Castellano "no longer offers custom fabrication, but you are welcome to look through our catalog to see if anything that would work for your project". Both of my clients looked at me with a "we are done here" look and we politely excused ourselves. Once we were outside my clients, rather upset that they squandered taking off of work, and receiving no customer service, expressed to me their disappointment. It was one of the most awkward experiences I've had in the professional trade. And so different from the decade-plus experiences I've had before working with them.In the past, it was customary for Castellano to work very closely with interior designers and their clients to carry out their vision. The company was highly attentive to forging deep relationships and being responsive to clients needs. And our customers were always willing to pay a premium for that quality and customer service. Our clients just want what they want and Castellano always delivered. But that was then, but the Castellano of today is different, no different, in fact, from the experience one might expect at Pottery Barn in a shopping mall ordering furniture from a catalog. They've regressed backwards and I am not sure how their company expects to survive making high-cost generic furniture that is not customizable. That you can find anywhere. What interior designers want is to curate custom solutions for our customers.

What a great experience working with Castellano Custom Furniture. Evelina took the time to help my husband and I pick fabrics for our custom living room furniture. Our new sofa, pillows, chair, and ottoman are the perfect fit for our chalet style cabin. High quality sustainable furniture and high quality staff. Easy five stars!

Best experience purchasing furniture. I had literally just had a nightmare of an experience with another local well named furniture provider. When I walked in to Castellano, Evalina was so kind and helped me pick out a couch with ottoman and the choice of fabric, she had me set with everything I needed within a 40 minute period of time. Also, I was told I would have them in 8 weeks! She also informed me it was made right there in the warehouse! No fuss no muss...Simple and easy.

Short story-always shop at Castellano Furniture for you fabric or leather needs. We bought our last sofa 5 years ago and it was awesome. We moved and needed a sectional for our new front room. My wife dragged me to every showroom in town and every internet site. I finally convinced her to go to Castellano. 45 minutes later the perfect sectional, custom size and fabric at a great price. Family owned and operated and it shows. Been crashing on our new sectional for e months now and we love it.

Don't do it. Resist the urge to buy anything from this cold and customer service free business. I went to pick up two chairs and arrived 19 minutes before the time one of their vendors had told me the shipping department closed. I called from the parking lot and was told the shipping crew had left for the day and they don't allow pick ups after 2:30. I persisted and they reluctantly agreed to allow me to pick up my chairs. The error wasn't with my arrival time confirmed by another retailer who was there to also pick a large order who indicated they were told shipping closed at 3. Instead of owning the internal communication error and trying to help, they said they'd take care of us 'this' time with such attitude that it implied that the two customers standing in front of them were in error. I lost my cool, which I regret, but strongly feel their attitude about their error is a reflection of the customer service that you may receive at this business. I hope you have better luck getting good service if you chose to do business here, but you don't really need to. Try one of the many great furniture stores in Portland where my wife and I have received great customer service over the years. One of them being a vendor of Castellano.

My husband and I FINALLY found a QUALITY place to buy furniture from! Castellano Custom Furniture has SUPERIOR quality products and you get to choose everything from fabric to foam density, type of legs, etc. We worked with Kaitlyn and she was very professional, attentive, and provided options like "hidden" couch legs, which is something we didn't even know existed but LOVE them on our new couch for our sitting room! We got to choose the type of "comfort" for the queen sleeper too--just another great option when you work with a quality company. We also had a chair reupholstered and both items are ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! We had a minor stain issue after the holidays and contacted Kaitlyn for advice and she has continued to provide us with SUPERIOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! Although they are somewhat pricey, when it comes to furniture you really do get what you pay for with Castellano. Eventually we are going to have our large sectional couch reupholstered because we have complete confidence in Castellano's quality and know we are making a good furniture investment. Thank you!

We purchased a Bitwell by Castellano couch 3 years ago because we loved the idea it was made in Portland, not overseas, and a family member has owned one for years. It was our first major furniture purchase , trading in our old pass-me-down futon, and although it was a lot of money for us at the time, we knew we were making a long term investment.
