Despite being listed on a certain Rx website as a provider who accepts their coupons, they would not honor a Rx coupon and were rude about it.

I love going to Bowman's. Fantastic service and they fill prescriptions fast. And I love supporting a local pharmacy.

Horrible customer service. I have called and got scripts here several times because I had to staff was harsh and rude. Not friendly at all. Then I went in today and service was terrible! I felt horrible after leaving there. I don’t recommend this place unless you have to.

I have not had the experience of the one star reviews.I started using this pharmacy because I called them when I first moved to Portland and someone just picked up and talked to me. No automated answering machine, no corporate script, just a normal conversation from person to person, and they kind and patient answering my questions and getting me set upI have adored this pharmacy ever since. They have helped me through a few medication shortages, and have certainly never been particularly rude. Maybe a little direct, but that’s part of why I love these folks. No one puts on the customer-service face for you. You’re just a human being interacting with another human being and that’s not something to take for granted in todays healthcare world.Yes, they require a mask to enter. Yes, the mandate has been lifted. But it’s a pretty simple ask from a mom and pop pharmacy imo. If you can’t respect it, that’s your problem and there are plenty of other pharmacies.

My family has found it difficult in the past few years to find the brand names of medications we need at our normal pharmacy of 20 yrs. They changed to either brands that have horrible side effects from loads of fillers and/or are the size of horse pills. Recently I had to call 4-5 Rx's to locate a suitable brand and enough quantity of a medication that for some reason was suddenly on back-stock order for multiple stores... it was either wait an "unspecified" amount of time, or pay for horse pills that are full of around 90% filler that isn't easy to swallow (one of my kids can't even take them) and all that filler comes with side effects I am personally sensitive to. I have to be really careful with medications or I can experience a host of complications . Thankfully, Bowman's Rx is close and had the right brands and quantities for my family. I always forget they're right here in Hillsdale! We did end up spending more for this necessity, but I don't believe a prescription card was used and the change in pharmacy somehow came with a pre-authorization request to use one of our insurances. Which Bowman's did a great job of communicating about and setting up for next time. Overall the experience was far better than we've been dealing with using other Rx's, where I -just this week- spent 4 hours straight on hold and being hung up on by staff and the phone system, just to refill a script. If you don't have anything holding you back give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised.

I very rarely write negative reviews, but I feel struggle that a pharmacist shouldn't be going around and tormenting his customers, if I could leave 0 stars for Bowman's, I would. I decided to switch my prescriptions over to the family owned neighborhood pharmacy because I thought it would be the ethical choice after having disastrous experiences at Walgreens. There are two full time pharmacists at Bowman's; Laurie is very nice and always helpful, I literally would pray she was on duty when I had to get my prescriptions. Then there's Pat, his behavior is terrible; he can be nice but most of the time he's simmering and ready to bully and belittle the very customers who select Bowman's to be a partner in their medical team. What did Pat do to me that prompted me to write this scathing review? He told me he reported me to the authorities for a felony of trying to fill a prescriptions at different pharmacies, without any merit whatsoever. Why would Pat accuse me of a felony? Because my prescriber, we will call her "C," forgot to cancel the electronically submitted prescription for me at Walgreens before she electronically submitted it to Bowman's. What exactly happened is this prescription for a controlled substance and NOT a narcotic, btw, Pat was misinformed, anyway it was running late at Bowman's, C said she submitted it to Bowman's, but I dare not call Bowman's to inquire about it because Pat warned me when I became a customer that he has a "3 call rule" for customers, including prescribers, this means a total of 3 calls you get to inquire about the status of all of your prescriptions, and if you exceed 3, I suspect you are are SoL. So I waited and finally put two and two together by checking the Walgreens app which showed C accidentally submitted my electronically prescribed prescription there instead of Bowman's. I then called C and asked her to electronically submit my prescription to Bowman's, which she did, and then make sure to cancel the Walgreen's script, which she forgot to do. C's error prompted me to call Bowman's and inform them about what was going on, I naively thought Pat would appreciate this call, I was giving him a "heads-up," after all. What happened next was the most unbelievable experience I've had in my life with a so-called medical professional, Pat answered the phone and immediately went into this paranoid rage and and tirade, he told md that "reported me to the authorities for trying to fill a 'narcotic' in two places," I was flabbergasted, furious and incredulous, how in the world could he come up with that? I do not struggle with ln a substance abuse disorder, and can only imagine how Pat treats those who have do because he treated me like a drug seeker and it was so very insulting. These are electronically submitted prescriptions, Pat! Pretty darn impossible for me to do what you accused me of. I'm even consider engaging in that kind of behavior. He said he was "protecting his pharmacy," "from what!" I demanded to know because I did absolutely nothing wrong, in fact, I would argue everything right. I demanded he fix this and correct my good record, he refused and said "you have to fix it," this was getting crazier and crazier. How in the world and to fix what? Then he uttered, "go to Walgreens and fix it," and I said why? He refused to answer. Before I hung up I corrected Pat about this med being a narcotic and told Pat as much, "YES IT IS," he firmly stated, "nope, it's not, I glibly stated. He then said, "GOOGLE IT," trust me, I already did and took great pleasure to do it again, then I proceeded to share the results of my search with him which said this med "is NOT a narcotic" he did not.like.that. He then hung up on me. C called Pat and let him know I did NOTHING wrong and felt terrible about how upset I was, she reassured me and said what Pat did to me was WRONG. My husband end

This pharmacy does a good job with prescriptions but there's a certain pharmacist who is so unpleasant that I wonder if it's worth it to go there. I see he has left the same impression on other reviewers. He is not the older gentleman but is middle aged and balding. Rude - as noted elsewhere here, and full of unsolicited opinions about my physician's prescribing practices. I wonder what OBGYN degree he holds. So toxic you don't even have to talk to him but feel it from the other side of the counter. It must be absolutely miserable to work there when he's around.

Shop local? Not always.... It is my aim to support local businesses, especially in Hillsdale where I have been shopping for close to 40 years.. I came to pick up a prescription with a very high co-pay yesterday. I was surprised. The technician informed me that the actual cost of the medicine is $6000, so 'do you want it or not?" I know that the actual price is nowhere near that so I asked to speak to the pharmacist. He was condescending, checked on the actual price ($2800, which is also higher than my physician told me it was) and told me to 'move on and check the back of your insurance card"; he obviously had something more important to do than help a customer. The technician obviously enjoyed that little episode and his boss's support. The female pharmacist, Lori, has always been friendly. I rating the pharmacy with 2 stars as it is obviously a pharmacy that stocks meds and other devices, and the female pharmacist is friendly and helpful. In the parking lot another customer , who had heard the conversation, told me that she, too, was put off by the staff's behavior. Don't go on Lori's day off. THE MED THAT WAS A $700+ co-pay was $25 at the Ohsu pharmacy!! Go figure. Glad I walked out!!!!

Using this pharmacy for the first time after having to call around and find a pharmacy able to fill my prescription since every other pharmacy doesn't have it in stock. On my way and just realized I'm going to be about 15mins past closing and they aren't open tomorrow which means I won't get my meds for another full day.The employee I spoke with on the phone was so nice and said if it's just 15mins or so she will be there and still let me pick up my prescription. Never having been there before it didn't occur to me to check their house until I was already on my way and stuck in traffic.I'm so appreciative of them, and how friendly and helpful they've been so far. Highly recommend them!

Buyer beware. This place is a complete scam. I provided my new health insurance card 4 times ( front and back copy), called it in, and supplied it 2 times while dropping off my prescription. I'm told my provider is not registered in Oregon so therefore I'm paying out of pocket. ( My dr. is registered in Oregon). I brushed it off since they rarely have a line and they are local. This happened numerous times. The last straw for me was they charged insurance from a few years ago and I called them out on it. I was told to bring a copy of the receipt w/in 7 days and they would give me a store credit. I drove to the Pharmacy the next day and to provide the receipt and they are perplexed about what I was even talking about. The pharmacist said he needs to call my insurance and to wait a moment. Imagine that, the phone lines are down and he'll contact me when they are back up. A week later NO communication whatsoever. I stop by to pick up my last prescription and I ask," What insurance did you charge?" They said it was inputted as a cash transaction. WTF? I literally lost it. They said that it will be a moment and bammm my insurance covered the entire $70.80. So now, I ask about my credit and I have to brief them once again on the reimbursement. This asshole has the audacity to tell me the receipt is past the 7-day return policy and there is nothing they can do. I wonder how much $$$$ they have scammed this community and the elderly. My next call is to the BBB.

Acute & worsening allergic reaction causing face swelling & rash, doc ordered steroid Rx. Not my usual pharmacy but close & convenient, I stopped by and the pharmacy staff took care of me on the spot. Took time during checkout to give professional, friendly, personal attention. All on a busy Friday afternoon. Customer care at its best. Highly recommended!

After a year of trying to use this pharmacy we found them to be very unhelpful in general. The last straw for us was when we called to check if a prescription had been filled. They said they had no record of it ever being called in. We checked with our provider and they had indeed transmitted it. We called back 2 days later and my wife was told they had sent the prescription back because we hadn't picked it up. WTF.But beyond this, the pharmacist was extremely rude to my wife. Like weirdly rude. I (husband) went in to talk to him about the prescription and just got a completely different attitude. Definitely left me feeling like men and women get a different treatment.

This place is awesome. It's like most other pharmacies minus the long waits and long hold times. Blast from the past with friendly and prompt service. I can't believe I used to wait in line at Fred Meyer.
