Solid experience getting a new whole Vibram sole on an old pair of boots. It's not cheap (~$120 for an entire 1-piece sole including cleaning/buffing of the leather, though it can be as cheap as ~$80 if it's just the heel that's wearing down and needs replacement), but it's great to support a local family business and reduce waste by extending the life of shoes! Turnaround time was pretty quick (24-48hrs) and the rep was available to answer all my uneducated questions about the different repair options.

I highly recommend David's shop, Portland Shoe repair. He does excellent work at a fair price. He's very friendly, professional and is a nice person. I only bring my favorite boots to him for any needed repairs!

Great service and results. My work shoes were in terrible condition and when I brought it here, it came back feeling like it was brand new. The results were amazing and the prices are amazing!! Would definitely recommend this to anyone!!

Based on the positive YELP reviews, I decided to try out this business. I had a man's belt that needed a replacement buckle. I was so impressed by David's helpfulness and desire to please. He dug through all his stock to show me all the possible buckle options I could choose from. He also noticed that the belt had lost its belt loop, and when he did not have a pre-made one in stock, he offered to make one from scratch for the belt and dye it to match. I just picked up the belt today, and I am SO pleased with how it looks. You would never know that the belt loop was not the original one, and the stitching is very well done. Moreover, the price was reasonable and the turn-around time amazing. It can be a little challenging to find parking in front, but this business is work a half block walk if you need to

Husband brought his Redwings to be re-soled and they did a fabulous job. Quick work too. I think just 3 or 4 business days. Highly recommend. Especially for those well loved workhorse shoes!

One of the disappointments of wearing Birkenstocks is that as they wear, the likely outcome is pitching them in the garbage. My recent visit to Portland Shoe Repair has changed all that. With wonderfully prompt turnaround, I have a "better than new" refurbished pair of my favorite sandals and saved the time and a added costs required to replace them. Owner David provided great advice on the best strategy to "renew" my Birki's and I am especially pleased with the results, and the price. Highly recommended.
