Under new ownership in the last year. Go to spot for beer, wine, snacks, smokes and lots of random finds. There is always some music or a sports broadcast rollin'. Super friendly staff and locally owned/operated. Glad they are in my 'hood!

Was walking through the neighborhood when I looked inside the market and saw that they have a bunch of craft beer. On a whim I decided to see if they had a seasonal brew that I had been looking for. They did not but Nick asked what I was looking for and told me he would try to find it. And he did! Funky cool spot w friendly people. Belmont 34 is my new spot for Portland beer hunting!

In 2009 or so I would walk up and down Belmont looking at some of the newer storefronts that opened up. I remember thinking,... " Where is the Willamette Weekly? " And then I realized it's probably inside. So I walked in to Belmont 34 Grocery. The Kiosk was inside just by the front door. I looked around thinking,... " I wonder if we need Milk or Orange Juices at home. " The owners waved to me and smiled. I wasn't sure if I should wave back or not... because I wasn't looking for a lot of groceries. I decided that I would go down the street for a treat for myself. I regret not buying some Chips or Pretzels here at Belmont 34 Grocery. After that afternoon, I would drive by with my Darling Husband, or while I was going to a nearby appointment on TriMet... and I would think,... " If I had time I would Totally buy my groceries at Belmont 34 Grocery. " Besides being a good location to pick up a Willamette Weekly ( that's one of the free papers in Portland )... and an excellent place to buy cold bottled drinks... there are a few TriMet bus stops on this block. Oh, and I recommend walking up Belmont Street to the old Firehall with your Out of Town guests... they might just love old architecture.

This low rating is for a specific purchase. I realize there is a language barrier here however over the weekend I went in to ask for Tylenol/acetaminophen. The owner showed me her small selection of pain meds. I choose the generic Tylenol or acetaminophen. I took 2 before work due to a back strain. An hour later I felt very groggy and wiped out. After a 10 hour work day accomplishing nothing due to being so groggy, I decided to take two more acetaminophen before bed. I really studied the box to make sure there was nothing else with the acetaminophen. Sure enough the price sticker was placed over the second ingredient which was Benadryl. This is partly my fault for not reading the back of the box however I have noticed that the price stickers at this store are not well placed and even over expiration dates. Just beware and double check everything!

I love this store...the couple who work here are great. Beer? Check. Popsicle case? Check. Sketchy linoleum floors? Double check.
