Got my engagement and wedding band here several years ago. Service is great and the people are so kind. You can tell they really love what they do here.We usually work with Sander. Very personable! We come in once a year to get our rings cleaned and he always remembers us.Highly recommend if you are looking to build a relationship with a small business jewelery store that sells beautiful jewelry.

Highly recommend Alchemy for unique, top quality jewelry. My fiancé and I went engagement ring shopping here about 4 months ago after going to a number of other highly-rated jewelry shops in Portland. Some of the other shops felt like the staff were either were mentally checked-out, were too busy to care about us, or required an appointment. But not this place.Alchemy was such a nice shop. They let us in without an appointment and while the engagement ring selection was small compared to some of the other stores, the rings they do have are so unique, timeless, and beautiful. I didn't know I was going to fall in love with a starburst-style ring with a gold band but WOW it immediately struck me after seeing so many other rings.Sander at Alchemy was super nice, helpful, and smart. He knows so much about jewelry and was eager to share his knowledge with us. He was also patient, as we took some time to think about it and then decided to buy the ring. They quickly re-sized it in-shop, made sure it was clean, and we were on our way. When I called the next day worried the ring might be too big for my bony fingers Sander patiently listened to my concerns and gave me great advice! 4 months later I am still absolutely in love with the ring and super happy I didn't try to make the band smaller. Great shop for that one-of-a-kind piece.

Posting this review for a friend. She brought in an old foriegn necklace and it was repaired quickly and with kindness. Nice to have this shop in the neighborhood.

We had an incredible experience here. Sander helped us restore two older pieces of jewelry, and was very attentive to our preferences. I will definitely be returning to Alchemy!

Came here to pick out a wedding band with my fiancée. Immediately was insulted by the sales rep upon walking in about the ring I had myself designed for my fiancée, and was fabricated by a respected jeweler. He had said it was poorly designed, and wouldn’t pair well with any wedding band design. We had already been to two other jewelers who complemented it, my effort on it, and proved that it would in fact work with any low profile wedding band.Obviously, within a minute of trying on a ring, we proved it would in fact pair just fine. He admitted to being wrong, but fell far short of apologizing.Throughout the rest of the appointment I was continued to be insulted about our style choices, ring color, and taste. I had never heard anything like this at any other jeweler.This is probably the most pompous, snooty jeweler in Portland. Beware!

Beautiful luxury store with unique jewelry. If you want something special, COME HERE! You get what you pay for and even though the pricing may not be for everyone, this is a place to consider finding that special something. The quality is superb.

Sander and David at Alchemy made the custom engagement ring I had in my imagination a reality. They were extremely receptive and willing to let me be involved in the design process, set the main stone I brought to them, and set the accent stones in the style I wanted. Their prices and timelines were very reasonable, and beyond that they are personable and friendly! It was great to work with them, and I would definitely purchase from them again over any other jeweler in the Portland area. My fiancée loves the ring and says it is exactly what she's always wanted - that is thanks to Alchemy Jewelers.

I wanted to get a new ring made from an old one, and made an appointment. Sander greeted me, fed me chocolate, and let me try on and admire some of the works of art in the cases—Alex Sepkus rings, a ring with a honey-colored diamond set in 22K gold—it was like going to an art museum where you could touch things! Plus he told me all about the probable history of my diamond and showed me a ring design that would work with it. I HAD SO MUCH FUN!!!
