I went in for a cardiac cathetization for acute heart failure, I am 44 years old. When checking in the receptionist handed me a $24,000 bill (prior to my insurance portion coverage being accounted for) and told me I would need to make a large down payment to proceed. Then an IV was placed into a vein I have filtration issues with, despite my requesting the RN not place it there. I was supposed to be consciously sedated with versed and fentanyl, to be awake but not aware so I wouldn't feel pain or suffer, but because the RN either missed my lumen in my vein completely or due to the filtration issue, I did not get the medication into my bloodstream they were giving me and felt everything they did, while sobbing and strapped down on a table, telling the cardiologist I was feeling everything (while also NOT feeling anything entering my vein that would normally be felt when receiving, like the cold sensation of a saline flush, etc, it was clear the IV was in my dermis and not my vein) he told me "well I don't know why you're feeling this, you're getting plenty of drugs, you must have a tolerance". How does someone get a tolerance to versed and fentany without illicit drug use?? basically insinuating I must be a drug user?? The procedure should have been paused then and there to figure out what was going wrong, but it wasn't, it was ignored. It was horrific, soul-crushing pain and I am absolutely traumatized. The cardiologist I normally see, Dr. Chen is great. My experience with reception and the doctor at Adventist was impermissible, unacceptable and cruel. If you lack basic compassion and empathy, you have no business in the CARE of others."Do no harm"I. Was. Harmed.

I’ve been having really bad stomach problems for the last 10 years I’ve arrived multiple times by ambulance in the last 10 years I was admitted in the hospital stayed for three days just for the doctor to say my stomach hurts because I’m withdrawing after they pumped me full of opiates and treated me like a druggy not only that they took my urine and did an analysis on it without my consent, calling me a druggy after they’re done pumping me full of opiates, and I’m still in dying pain every day this was last week

My review is long overdue. In 2005 I was in an abusive relationship, without money, or insurance plus I had cancer. Adventist & Dr Peterson treated me with care & dignity & Saved my life in many ways. I was able to leave the relationship & remain cancer free. May God Bless Dr Peterson & Adventist.

If I could give this hospital negative ratings I would. I had the worst experience if my life in this ER. They don't care about HIPPA of the patients. I have called every day since being seen in the ER to file a complaint about the staff. Nobody will call me back. I wouldn't wish this ER on my worst enemy.

Received my first Covid booster at PAH. The staff were well organized and efficient. Parking was nearby, there was a very short wait, and the staff was the best.
