Good selection, competitive prices, and friendly staff. I especially like that the employees treat women with respect and equity. I have been to many other businesses where the employees disregarded me, to talk to my husband. Not here. At 52nd, I feel comfortable and confident I’m receiving the same treatment any customer would.

I’m across the street so I’m biased but this shop has helped me finish so many projects and helped me find exactly what I needed. Support the local independent guys that are a significant part of the community here in SE Portland. Prices are fairly equal to the corporate places too, I love this shop.

This is the only genuine hardware and lumber business in the area. After purchasing my new home in 2012 that happened to come with over forty feral cats, I discovered this fantastic family owned business. The wood shop has saved me so many times by cutting plywood to size so that it was ready to stain, paint and use. This has included precutting several pieces of plywood from scale drawings to build combination work tables and heated habitats for the cats we love throughout the TNRM process. I highly recommend this business for all of your projects while shopping local and supporting this neighborhood gem in Portland's crown.

This place rocks. Employees are super helpful and knowledgeable. Will go out of their way to help you. The quality of the materials is better than the big box stores. The prices are a touch higher but I'd rather support my neighbor hood lumber yard. I've had too many good experiences here to mention all of them.

This is a great place for lumber! It seems like a lot of professionals shop here (a good sign) but the staff is friendly and helpful to us homeowners, too. And they'll order special-use lumber if it is not in stock. We are lucky to have this as an alternative to the big boxes.
