Purchased my vehicle after much unnecessary back and forth. Freddy was great at the start. They picked me up and drove me out stating they don't take offers over the phone or online. Got there and they didn't except my offer so I wasted a whole day. They turned around a week later and accepted it. Refused to deliver the car. Went back out bought the car. Left with an empty gas tankAnd the AC already needs to be serviced.....Could def step up their CS

Horrible experience here and would not recommend. I did try to call the dealership to speak about my experience, but no one answered, so I decided to leave a written review. I am not one to post things like this, I actually believe this is my first time, but the experience I had with an online salesman was one of the worst customer experiences I've ever encountered. I called to inquire about a car currently on their lot and was followed up with via text. Essentially when negotiating price he low balled me on my vehicle I would be trading in and then aggressively got upset when I countered. When I explained the reasoning behind my counter offer he was unreceptive, insinuated I was lying, no longer wanted to negotiate and told me to take my business elsewhere... I have never met a salesman with worse customer service skills and would highly recommend you steer clear of this dealership. Even if they reached out now after the fact and gave me a great deal I will never give this dealership my business.

If you're from ID like I am and need a car faster than Peterson can deliver and Hometown says they have once sooner just wait! I worked with David Litzenberger. He seemed nice and I'm not sure if it's him or his manager but I will hold them both responsible for the poor customer service, poor communication and at worse being misleading. First, he sent me a PDF of a car with the MSRP price on it and then told me the car was $2,000 more. I asked him if they could give me MSRP since Peterson Toyota in Boise was not selling above MSRP. He said his manager would sell me the car at MSRP if I would get in writing that Peterson was selling at MSRP and not adding anything later. I went through the trouble of calling Peterson and asking them to send me in writing that they were not going to go above MSRP and they did. I might add now that I was looking for a RAV4 Hybrid and Peterson didn't have any in Hybrids coming in anytime soon and it was a 3-4 month wait. I wish I would have waited. They just has gas models so that is why I even dealt w/Hometown. Hometown could have the car within a month which still took longer than a month. David then told me he couldn't do it but only take $500 off. That was the first time he went back on his word. I was pretty shocked that they did that but I needed AWD for the snow and w/inflation and interest rates rising I thought I better just go ahead and get it so I did. I also ordered heated seats and found out later that the buttons do not come in the same place as the factory. They use a kit like what can be found on Amazon for $40 and put the buttons on the side of the seats just for anyone who wants to know. The car arrives and I pick it up. On my way home, I feel the car pulling to the right. I pull in my garage and notice a small ding in the metal part on the passenger side. I immediately text David about the pulling and ding. He says he will talk to the manager the next day. He texts me the next day and asks when in the next week I can bring it in because they need to order the part. I told him next Saturday. I get a text during midweek asking to reschedule because his dent guy is having a baby. I tell him the following Saturday and then he says he's not sure when he will be back from paternity leave. I then ask him if he could ask Peterson if they could do it, like explain the situation since I didn't think asking another dealership would take care of a ding that came from another dealership. He then tells me he isn't sure if they would even take care of it and would have to convince his boss. Literally, it went from, "Sure bring it back in" to now I might have to pay for the ding that came on my brand new car. I ask him why things have changed? He then proceeds to insinuate that I am a bad customer for complaining about a car that THEY sold me with ding and how it possibly needs the alignment adjusted. He also stated that he spent all day trying to get me the deal and incentives, that it was a real hassle getting the heated seats installed which I paid over $800 for and that he worked hard to get my car off the port to be delivered ASAP since it went over the estimated time he told me. I'm like, "this is your job, my dude." UNREAL. It went on a bit more but that is the gist and I never heard back from him nor do I want to hear from him. So now I have to have a car with a ding (it's super small but still annoying since it's brand new and shouldn't be there). I refuse to drive there and deal with them ever again. There was also faint grease stains on the back of my driver seat and bench seat which I did not complain about since I put seat covers on but it's not like they would do anything about it anyway. BUYER BEWARE.UPDATE 05/21/22: Took my car into Peterson today to check the alignment and it was in fact out of alignment. The tech said he felt it right away. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. They could care less about you. Thank you so much Hometown for the brand new car with a ding in it, crappy heated seat

I had to change my rating from two stars to one. Their customer service rep emailed me and I provided additional information. Unfortunately she never got back to me like her email said. I guess customer service is nonexistent now. I'll give them another try next service. Not sure if techs are sloppy or lazy. Be advised, you might want to purchase an oil drip pan when you get home from an oil change. My truck and driveway were a mess and I had to clean everything up after the fact. Good luck consumers.

Bought a used car from here recently. Not happy with purchased and how it was handled. The temp tags they gave me are not even legal I'm told and I could get pulled over for them. The car they sold me was disgusting. They are selling cars to people without cleaning them out. I found mouse feces under the seats and in the glovebox area. The car was In disgusting shape. They also sold me a car where the Ad and the Certificate of Title claimed it had 163,000 miles (Actual Miles box was ticked) on it. The car actually has 214,700 miles on it. So I paid for a car that has 163,000 miles on it and ended up with a car that had an extra 50K miles on it. I found out after cleaning the car out more. I brought this to Hometown Toyotas attention and they told me to bring the car back and they will refund what I purchased the car for. The problem with that is that I had to buy a new windshield, new tires, new battery, new front rotors for the car. I also have New shocks/Struts, new back brakes and new back drums for the car. They will not repay me for that, but only give me what I paid for the car. So not only were they not honest about their car, but now they are essentially trying to steal money I put into the car without paying me for it.I was told by the Sales Manager that the General Manager is the one refusing to do anything about this and will only refund the money I purchased the car for.So not happy with this place at all and will not be recommending them to anyone and won't be back, even though I'm a lifelong Toyota customer.I will also be contacting Toyota directly and will be hash tagging Hometown Toyota and Toyota in my social media posts about this.

I will NEVER come here again or recommend them to anyone. I drove out of state and told them I was very interested in purchasing a vehicle they had on the lot, they knew I was coming and right when I got there they said someone else was looking at it as well, and raised their price $2,000 from their msrp listed online AND on the vehicle on the lot. Complete waste of time & gas. They were extremely uncooperative.

Scam dealership, buyers beware! Where do I start... well we were in the market for a Toyota 4 Runner when I came across Hometown Toyota in Ontario, Oregon. After speaking with Carlos there he assured me that the vehicle was built and in route, to arrive 23FEB2022, at which time we have a deposit on his word. Then 23FEB rolls around and no call from Carlos. So I follow up and now it is coming first week of March. We have already been waiting one month at this point so we pursue other dealerships and find Edmark Toyota in Nampa. They reserve us a vehicle and it arrives within days and is $4,000 less than the same exact vehicle at Hometown. That's right hometown not only does not use the amazing Costco buyers program but also dealer mark ups the MSRP an extra $1,000. I even asked for a military discount, which Toyota advertises on their website, and they would not honor it, as the vehicle is in such high demand.I ask for my reservation money back, $1,000, as they did not keep up with there end of the deal and supposedly have a line of buyers wanting these vehicles and Carlos says he will ask. Once again, no call back so I follow up and he states they won't and he "worked for that money" I guess taking a phone reservation for a vehicle for two minutes is worth $1,000 these days.Terrible customer service ethics and morals. Stay away, keep your money in Idaho and buy from Edmark Toyota. Ask for Mark Long.

My horrifying experience was in November of 2019. I told him I was a disabled veteran, so then they decided to take advantage of me by using predatory sales tactics and selling me a lemon, like all 2006 through 2011 four cylinder Toyotas that have defective piston rings. They withheld the information and I have suffered everyday since.
