We stayed at the Rodeway in Newport last Thursday and right now I am covered in bed bug bites. I called to tell them and got a non challant answer. If the price seems too good to be true, there may be a reason!!Nearby activities: Depot Bay is 20 minutes North where you can whale watch.

Our “non-smoking“ room clearly used to be a smoking room. This was not a slight odor from the guest before us - people had clearly been smoking in this room frequently, for a long period of time. You‘d have to get rid of the carpet and repaint the walls to get rid of the stench. On top of that there was no AC and the towels were dirty.

September of 2023 is the second time we stayed at this location. The room was clean. The beds were quite firm. The beds were also quite tall. My 5-foot tall mother had difficulty getting in it. There are padded benches at the foot of the bed and she used that to crawl up into bed. There were also two chairs in our two-bed room. The bathroom door was a bit warped and the bottom drug along the tiled floor. The water was very warm and didn't run out during showers. The hotel staff was very nice. The housekeeping staff happily gave us more coffee for our room (keurig machine). There is an app to use a smartphone as the room key which was very convenient when staying a whole week. The hotel is centrally located in Newport and easy to find - right off the 101. Many restaurants and several grocery stores including walmart, Safeway and Fred Meyer nearby for more budget-friendly meals.Walkability: Nye Beach is straight down the nearby road. It's not a bad walk. However, it's all uphill coming back to the hotel. Parking near the beach can be tight so the walk was better for me.

It’s okay, the room could use some updating. The carpet is kind of gross but overall it was decent a little better than camping.

Beware of the nondisclosure for the amount of holding deposit. I was traveling alone after a travel nursing contract and already paid for the room previously with my Choice Rewards points account. The owner rudely demanded I give him a credit card for an amount he wouldn't disclose. I called Choice Rewards and they confirmed he was trying to scam because this motel requires no deposit. I left.

Me and my husband Jeff live in New Mexico, and we visit Oregon every summer. This hotel is an excellent value and centrally located. Mr. Lee is a very kind, helpful man. It’s always nice when he remembers us. We definitely enjoy staying here, and will continue for years to come. ??

We stayed on a Monday night (8/7/23) checked in just before 4pm. Mr. Lee was quite humorous, quick wit. He gave us room 154 a Queen, not a kitchenette I originally asked for online. But after discussion we decided we didn't need a kitchenette. The room had a TV, 2 fans (no AC), typical motel furniture, carpet, & in a section separated from bedroom, a long counter with a fridge, micro oven, portable heater, iron & board. In the bathroom there was a hair dryer & shower/tub & a window. The room was fairly clean. The bed was quite comfortable but the thick pillows were not comfortable for me; everyone has his/her preferences. The room faced the west so was rather warm. It was quiet since it was located in a section beyond the office & had no upstairs section. Next time we'd ask for a room facing south or east. With AARP discount, the total was $99 instead of $113 with taxes & fees. Pros: free parking, amenities, comfy bed, next to Lee's Wok restaurant, quiet, central to everything, free coffee & pastries/muffins/newspaper in office, free Keurig coffee/creamer/sugar in room, ice bucket, shower-good water pressure, felt safe. Cons: rooms facing west can be warm in summer, no ice making machine.Walkability: Since Newport is a small town you can walk across the road onto W Olive St., past the library & get to Davis Park & County Vietnam memorial. You can drive on SW Elizabeth St. & go to Yaquina Bay St. Park where there's a short walk to the beach &/or see the Yaquina bridge & small lighthouse.

The manager is super nice, very friendly . Room very clean. No smoking. Our first choice of Motels when we come to Newport Or. The Chinese restaurant attached to Motel is superb.

Well, not my usual place to stay and I thought that we would try this one. The owner or manager was pretty funny and a jokes terrible! He had me laughing and let me take some breakfast goodies ahead of time because we were leaving early the next morning to go fishing.I had so much trouble sleeping and I'm not sure why. The beds were adequately comfy and the room was pretty clean. However, I kept hearing strange noises within the room that were not easily explainable. I won't go into detail, but I couldn't figure out what was causing the noises, or perhaps they were from other rooms on either side of us. In any case, I managed to get 2 hours of sleep.I will say the gem on the property is Lee's Wok Restaurant. Very delicious food, my kids even loved it all! I recommend the garlic chicken. My kids would definitely recommend the orange chicken and shrimp with noodles. We also had sesame chicken which was pretty good. Huge, I mean extra huge, portions! We had to take a lot of it home in the cooler. You can definitely share a platter between 2, even 3 people. All in all, I'm not sure I'd highly recommend this place other than for the restaurant.

I originally selected this place due to getting a discount through work, but was happily surprised by the room and service. The room was small but clean, and the bed was firm but comfortable. Having chairs in the room was a major plus, as was a microwave and fridge.Front desk was friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast was like most places (juices, coffee, wrapped pastries and bagels) and served all day after 730am so we didn't feel rushed to eat in the morning. We stayed two nights and have added it to our list of places to check first when we come back through.Rooms: Clean and cozy.Walkability: Food and stores are close by.

I know these places that are cheap aren't always perfect, but for $162 a night for a smoking room is outrageously too much anyways, but the room itself was FILTH! I've been in housekeeping and wow! I literally cleaned the room myself and the yellow tobacco drippings came off no problem, bathroom window, bath floor, walls, behind toilet , windows in bed area, micro and fridge fingerprints and unknown drippings along front. I could go, but let's just say BE BETTER! Guy at the counter was cool, tho. Kuddos to him ??

I've stayed here over the years and it's gone downhill gradually. This week we tried again and it was downright disgusting. Checkin online is 1. When we got there they told me new check in is 3 or 4. Floors absolutely filthy. The owner parks his 40 foot boat and subyrban where the patrons are supposed to park and makes you park far away from your room. Bedspread has grease stains. This place has tuned into a dump the owner puts no renovations or money into it to clean and update.

Perfectly fine accommodations A solid three star motel. $100 bucks which is 1/3 what everyone else in Newport is charging.Clean, spacious, well appointed room. Big fridge with a freezer section. Microwave. Million channel, big screen TV. Plenty of parking. Ironing board, iron, hair drier. I am a Choice member so they had me in the building way in the back. It was very quiet. There is a Chinese restaurant next door that I gather is owned by the same people. Sketchy reviews so I didn't try it. I was in town for seafood anyway. The Asian guy at the desk wasn't all that hospitable but that's fairly common at chains like this. I have been a very long term Best Western diamond select customer but in recent years their prices have gone way up while the service quality has gone way down. So a really good room at a decent price trumps a not-so-engaging desk clerk. It's right on the main drag just north of SR 20. Getting in or out can be a challenge depending on which way you are headed so familiarize yourself with the back streets to make your life easier.Ice machine works great and is in the 24 hour laundry but you need your room key to access it.

Rodeway may be a bargain inn but I can't recommend this particular location enough. It was almost exactly midnight when we pulled in but someone answered the buzzer right away, came straight to the office, and was perfectly professional checking us in.The room itself was clean, warm, and very comfortable. The food available for the complimentary continental breakfast was all pre-packaged bakery items with choices of coffee, tea, and on-tap fruit juices.I honestly wish we weren't just passing through, checking in at midnight and gone before eight AM. I've paid far more money for far worse places to stay both at the coast and inland. This motel is great.

Alright, so I do construction and was looking for a place to stay in Newport while working out of town, since there isn't really much in Waldport where I'm working, I started searching around. So I stayed at comfort inn the first week, which was alright, but it was expensive and I'm not really sure why. This week, I decided this place and I think I'm just going to stay here from now on. The manager, Lee, is a super nice guy and incredibly helpful. He's so down to earth and personable! We reserved 3 nights here, but we may need to head out early, so we would only use 2 nights, but we already paid for 3. We didn't know what we could do, so we asked Lee; he said there would be no problem and if we just called him by noon the next day, he'd either hold it for us if we needed it again, or credit it towards next week when we come back!!! The rooms are large and very clean, tons of pillows, cable TV... They're is nothing bad I could say about this place. Try some of the Chinese at the restaurant next door too, it was surprisingly good and very friendly staff! All operated by Lee's family.
