Watch out for secret billing. They billed me with the statement "Opening Balance, September" for $34.53. I did not request any service for my horse. I talked to ********* over the phone and she could not produce any item, service, nor fee that would go along with this charge. I was promised a call back. Never got one.
EDIT UPDATE: Ben Root of Oakhurst operations has sent a rather odd, rather unprofessional and threatening email to me over this review. I wish he would have just called and said "hey I think there's some miscommunication going on, let's clear this up" instead of an unprofessional email. I'd have been happy to chat in that case. So again DO NOT USE OAKHURST EQUINE. Please find a more professional service.

Dr. Ouellette and her team were competent, thorough, professional, and kind. She was easy to communicate with and had an amazing bedside manner with the horse (I do not own the horse). I would definitely recommend them to anyone, and if I have the privilege of owning a horse, will be using them as my vet!

The BEST! They take GREAT care of the breeding stallion and my maiden mare got pg right away. They are so on top of things and run a tight, clean farm. Love them!

Oakhurst is truly one of a kind and a best in the industry. We are so lucky to have such talented equine professionals in Oregon.
Today I had the privilege to take our 4H hippology team that is headed to the Spring Classic state Competition to a lecture graciouslty hosted by Dr Jack Root and Mrs Root. Dr Root has such a passion for teaching youth and giving back to the horse community. His love for what he does is evident and that passion is contagious.
The lecture around genitics and reproduction was informative and fun and held the interest and had them all excited to go back for more.
Thank you for all you do!

The seminar was fantastic! Dinner before was simple yet delicious and the Roots were amazing hosts. Dr. O'Grady was incredible! I learned a lot and just wish I could have "borrowed" him for a few minutes to have him take a look at my horse's hooves! His knowledge, experience and expertise made for an amazing presentation. I would definitely recommend any seminars Oakhurst puts on in the future and plan on attending myself.

Oakhurst and Dr. O'Brien are top notch. They have done a fabulous job diagnosing two separate and unrelated illnesses our horse experienced. They were patient with my questions follow up email questions. Great with my horse and with me.

I had the pleasure of attending a Farriery seminar conducted by Dr. Steve O'Grady at Oakhurst Farm last Friday. Dr Jack and Cookie Root hosted the event in their lovely home on the grounds. It was a catered event with a lovely dinner and libations. The star of the evening was Dr O’Grady. He conducted an outstanding seminar. Lots of detail, in terms everyone could understand. He covered diagnosis, treatment, maintenance, and therapeutic shoeing—many thanks.
