Mount Angel Oktoberfest is a family-focused festival that celebrates German and Bavarian traditions. Organized by an all-volunteer Board of Directors, this non-profit event takes place over four days each September and attracts between 350,000 to 400,000 visitors, making it the largest folk festival in the Northwest. The festival offers a wide variety of entertainment, including world-class music performances by bands from Germany, New York, Canada, and Utah. Attendees can enjoy free admission, no ride tickets, and over 50 non-profit food booths serving Bavarian and local favorites. These food booths use their earnings to support their own charitable initiatives, and the Oktoberfest has given back over $3.5 million to the local communities through a grant program over the past 56 years. Visitors praise the friendly locals, the lively atmosphere, and the diverse range of activities, from the free Kindergarten for kids to the three main beer gardens with live stage music. While parking can be challenging due to the event's popularity, the festival offers a truly unique and enjoyable experience for people of all ages, with something for everyone to enjoy.

It was a nostalgic visit for us. The principalities of the event has been lost in the power of the Dollar. German beer sausage was not original and the strudel apples were not fresh. Been over 15 years since we have attended and some vendors were rude and unwelcoming.
