We initially went to this nursery for an Edgeworthia chrysantha - something we had ordered through the mail before, but had little success with. It was a 90-min drive, but completely worth it! They had a huge supply of several rare plant varieties that we had spent years hunting down at other nurseries in the PDX area. I really wish we had known about Dancing Oaks earlier! Plus, if you like manzanitas, this is the place to be. I had recently been to the Botanical Gardens in Golden Gate Park and toured their substantial manzanita section, but Dancing Oaks put them to shame. I've never seen so many varieties in one place - especially such well-grown and mature specimens! Fred was incredibly knowledgeable about them, and he gave us a fantastic tour that probably lasted an hour. What was going to be a long drive for a quick errand turned into a delightful afternoon that was well worth the time driving.

I have purchased plants a few times from here via mail order. Always been a great experience. My latest order of Quercus robur ‘Filicifolia’ arrived in excellent shape and I’m looking forward to watching it grow and mature. Awesome !!!????

Great selection of plants, friendly and helpful staff, and you can wander around the awesome gardens. I go every year to see what’s new and interesting.

I paid $50+ for a western red bud TREE last year ( #21117 ), The branches were cut, including the lead branch. I emailed the nursery and was told the branches were pruned to make the plant bushy. What a crock. Now a year later, the tree is trying to form another lead branch, This is no longer a tree!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of the best nurseries in Oregon. Huge selection of interesting plants you will not find elsewhere. The staff are always friendly and helpful, so if you can't find something - ask. If Fred is there - pick his brain for plants that will do well for your conditions. Sometimes, their online list is a little off - we usually go there with about 20 plants on the list, get 18 that were there and another 10 based on their recommendations.

I just received 6 ‘All Gold’ Junipers all the way from Oregon to here in Florida and I couldn’t be happier! Extremely impressed with the care that went into packaging these beautiful rare plants. They all arrived in perfect condition and I just want to say… You all are awesome and thank you so much for putting so much care into what you do! Will definitely be purchasing from Dancing Oaks again in the near future! Cheers!!!

I ordered 9 white veined Dutchman pipevines (very hard to find in Texas) as well as some native milkweed. The plants arrived well packed and in excellent condition. The plants were large for .42qt and very healthy. I’ve just reordered more pipevine and have bookmarked your website. Your nursery is fantastic. Love the broad range of natives and hard to find plants that you carry. Thank you!

This nursery is fantastic, I cannot say enough good things about this place. The people who work here are amazing and the plant selection is the best I've ever seen. I traveled almost three hours both ways (more than once this season!) just to shop for plants in person and it was totally worth it. The grounds are lovely, the gardens are a delight to stroll through. I spent a long time looking over the many unique plants and I could have easily spent more time if it had been possible. I can't wait to go back again next year ?

Love this place! It’s an amazing, secluded oasis at the end of a beautiful drive out into the country. Lots of rare and unusual plants, and a gorgeous demonstration garden. The owners and staff are so kind and knowledgeable. Could spend hours wandering around. I highly recommend checking out their online availability beforehand as there are additional photos and information.I’ve visited in summer but also made an appointment to shop off-season (late November) and it was well worth it! I was even able to pick up some stuff that was listed as “out of stock” on their website, so definitely worth the drive! This is a mail order nursery so most stuff is smaller than what consumers are used to seeing, but the prices are great and the plants are quality. I had no qualms buying what looked like pots of just soil, knowing what I’ll have come springtime!
