I had an 8am appt for oil change and brake check. By 5pm I hadn't heard anything so called the shop. They said they couldn't get to it. I had to leave the car overnight, and pick it up the next day after the oil change was done.
This was my first visit to Nick's. As a new customer I have these concerns:
- despite having an appt, a simple oil change could not be done on the day it was scheduled;
- I had to call the shop close to closing time, to check on the status of the car. I would have expected someone to reach out to me when it was clear the work couldn't be done that day, to let me know and see if it was convenient to keep the car in the shop an extra day (rather than me having to call in);
- when the car was finally picked up, the ambient and cabin temperature gauge was now displayed in centigrade (rather in Fahrenheit) units. How did that happen? I had to bring the car back in (after calling in to report this, I was told to bring the car back in, it was an easy fix). I brought the car back in, and the customer service person (rather than a mechanic) tried to fix it, did the same things I did, was unsuccessful, and had to re-schedule yet another visit to fix the temperature gauge units.
Is the first experience what I should expect from Nick's going forward?

Good experience getting oil change and inspection. Friendly and professional. Very busy shop but felt like they took the time to make sure we got a careful inspection.

Great work correcting some of the vehicle issues I had. Multiple jobs completed that I spanned over two months. They stay busy. A bigger waiting room would be nice.
Chris does a great job of answering my questions, explaining vehicle findings and the process moving forward. The mechanics will try to provide images of vehicle findings so that I can better understand exactly what is going on.
The online appointment, authorization of work, tracking of vehicle progress, etc. were all smoothly handled from my phone. And the pricing was very competitive. A solid choice overall.

We had a great experience here. My car has had a problem for a while and we couldn't figure out what was causing the problem. We even took it to another mechanic before here. Thank God they figured out the problem and fixed it in a timely manner. Shout out to Chris! Thank you!?

It was a good experience but the communication around timing of parts could have been better. Just a phone call or text update would have been good to understand the status each day.

Recently I was having a difficult time getting my 23-year-old TOYOTA ECHO to pass DEQ. I'd had a private mechanic work on it out in Newberg but they failed to adequately diagnose and address my vehicle's issues. My sister and I decided to bring the car into Nick's. We dealt with a guy named Chris who was just a really good guy. He had the opportunity to charge me more than was required but, instead, he called me and let me know that he wasn't going to charge me for the additional hour of diagnostics time because they had found the problem really quickly. That was so impressive to me. They literally could have easily charged me for an extra hour of diagnostic time since I had already approved it but they were so honest, they didn't..when they easily could have and I would have never known. As a result of their thorough and complete diagnostics and the subsequent work, my car easily passed DEQ as soon as I took it through. I'll be coming back to them as needed..not just for their excellent service but because I now TRUST them and I know that they'll always be looking out for me as the customer because that's the level of ethics that I'm getting with this company. I can't recommend them enough. If you're looking to do business with a company that still has integrity and ethics at a time when many companies DON'T and good customer service is all but dead, these guys are the automotive company to go with.The level of service and the trust that I've built with them as a result of their great business ethics has really stuck with me. I'll be coming back again because they're a company with integrity, honesty and a great business & work ethic. They really center the customer and guarantee their work. Anne
