Suburban Propane is a mess - we have had nothing but bad experiences with them since the beginning. Starting two and a half years ago with a poorly executed installation of a tank and hook up - we have only experienced poor customer service as they began price-gouging us a year and a half into service. We started out at an introductory rate of $3.89/mo and without notice the price jumped to $6.79 per gallon in 2022. We ran out of propane at one point and they refilled it for us next day. The last straw was our most recent bill which showed another price increase to $6.89 per gallon. When I checked around with other propane companies, their per gallon price was still at $3.89 and they said they had not seen a price increase in years - even through lockdowns. I called Suburban to inquire and they had no explanation - just that they had simply decided to raise the rates. We canceled our service and they told us they'd refund us for the fuel in the tank (minus $1.00 per gallon) for restocking. Plus picking up the tank was $152.00. Suburban is a scam - don't get fooled by their shiny trucks and branding. Go with a local company and save yourself a massive headache.

We've been leasing a tank for a couple years. Nov. 2022 they delivered and the price was 6.99/gallon. Outrageous, our friend in California paid $2.99 for a Suburban fill two weeks later. And, I looked up govenment data, throughout 2022 across the U.S. average propane prices were below $3.00. I called to complain. The supervisor would not do anything for me. We'll be cancelling our contract with Suburban soon. It's called a racket.

Not a good experience with these people. I would avoid them at all cost. We bought a place that had one of their rental tanks on it. You pay a yearly rent on tank plus an exorbitant amount for the gas because only they can fill it. So we bought a tank ,and they have to swap them, and pay them to swap out the tanks and put our gas into the new tank. They then leave their tank sit there for a year and finally come and get it after numerous calls and then charge us a $120 "close out" fee after picking up their tank finally.They are a rip off and would never recommend them to anyone.

These people are so wildly inept that they actually convinced me to tear out thousands of dollars worth of gas appliances and change my whole house over to electric. I tried to get a propane tank connected to my new house in Medford. It's taken these people almost half a year to get a single part to connect a propane tank. I went and purchased the part from my own plumber in 1 day. I can only image what kind of ship they're running when a propane company can't figure out how to connect the tanks they sell without their customers doing 99% of the work for them. Mind boggling...

Rude, rude, rude. If I could give fewer stars, I would. After more than 30 years, they have lost our business. Rude. Their recorded message advertises a prorated plan. Good luck with that. They set it up. The next month the collection calls started. They couldn't find the plan they set up. Finally the manager found it, apologized and sent it for set up. A few days later, he changed the amount. Two weeks later he called to tell us he miscalculated, send $225 for the next two months, then $107 after that for your prorated plan. We were sending them $125. Then they ended our plan, but didn't notify us. Trying to talk to them about it, the gal felt that asking questions qualified as abuse. Not a problem. You don't ever need to talk to us again.They are charging $15.00 for the first gallon, then $6.85/gallon after that, then delivery and P&T charge after that. Rip Off. We will be paying nearly half that with our new vendor.
