Edit: This review is from eight years ago but I feel like I should elaborate because at the time I was too angry to take the time to write it all out, but it still irks me to this day and needless to say I have never been back.
A couple of friends of mine who are brothers and I shopped at this safeway many times before this incident and never had any issues. I was around 30+ and my friends were 30 and 21+ years at the time. We had loaded up with a bunch of groceries and a each of us had a pack of beers we were going to take home. When we ringing everything up, it turned out that the youngest one of us had left his wallet in the car and could not produce his ID at the time. I offered to purchase his beer for him, but the guy at the register shut us all down and told us he would not sell any of us alcohol. He basically told us and implied that I could be some guy off the streets the was just getting paid to purchase beer for minors. I was pretty offended, but I also understood the store has policies about these things. We didn't think it was a big deal, because the youngest one offered and was totally willing to run out to the car and grab his wallet and his ID to prove his legal age to purchase the alcohol. The guy at the register told us he didn't care, and even if we all produced proper ID's he said he would still deny us the purchase of the beer and pretty much bragged how it was his right to do so. I asked for a manager and he said he was the manager.
Now it's only a pack of beers and I wasn't originally going to go about whining about something I could purchase anywhere else, but something about this whole experience really pisses me off. At that point this guy was just flexing his power and the entire situation was unnecessary.
Not sure how things are there now or if this guy even works there. But I will never go to this store again, and by the looks of other reviews the attitudes of these managers hasn't changed.

Had a terrible experience shopping here. Was basically ignored by the cashier named Jackie. The bagger, Eric, took one look at my husband and then walked off without helping us, even though he’d helped the person right in front of us. Extremely unprofessional. If I’m going to be paying more for groceries I expect a certain level of customer service.

I thanked the manager for having the courage to escort a woman, with a non-service dog, out of the store.

I always love this Safeway because they’re always family friendly - toddler friendly. Today after work I came to get groceries and had my hands full with my toddler a worker pretty sure it was the store manger helped me locate my items and asked if it was okay if he could give my daughter a cookie because he could tell I had my hands full. Very pleased with the customer service.

On 3/9/2024 went into the store to make a return. I was told customer service doesn't open till 9am. I asked if anyone could help me or do I need to come back? The employee called someone & out comes this rude & visibly mad person. She tells the guy who called her "We do not open till 9". The experience was in NO way a good one. She was curt, angry & made no eye contact & I was an inconvenient to her. Her name tag read Selena Brown something. The management at this Safeway should be embarrassed to have an employee treating customers like that. I worked for Safeway when I was in high school & no way would any employee be able to treat a customer the way she did & still have a job. I will make an effort to not visit this store in the future. The Safeway employees at the Medford Center are always nice.

Express lane line 15 people deep and no movement. Tried to get a few things for lunch. Gave up after 10 minutes. I won't make that mistake again.

Its changed for the worse. Few name brand canned items for sale. Meat is selected quality which is the lowest meat quality you can buy. The Safeway app. People are suppossed to us for sales coupons does not work. No label stating what country the food was grown or processed in. I'm done. If you want your phone hacked sign into the Safeway app. It has no password. Its free but it has no security.

Sandee at Safeway Floral on Crater Lake Hwy went above and beyond to provide beautiful flowers for us. She took extra time and care to make sure the flowers were exactly what we wanted for a family member's funeral. I plan to order all my flowers from her in the future.
