On September 30, 2024, we took our beloved, healthy cat in for a spay procedure. At 1:30 PM, we received a call informing us that our cat had passed away. This news was a complete shock and deeply heartbreaking, especially coming from a place we had trusted. Throughout this traumatic experience, we received no expression of sympathy—no "sorry for your loss" during the call or in person. Our cat was simply returned to us in the lobby with a remark about her not making it, we had to ask for a medical summary, which was provided only after we requested it. The follow-up email contained no words of condolence, just an attachment. If you're seeking a friendly and compassionate environment, this is not the right place; it lacks empathy during difficult moments.

This is my #1 place for item donations. Money raised here go directly back into the community to help provide medical care to animals. They give a voice to the voiceless.
As for the store, I seldom ever leave empty handed. It's a great show for cool finds, be it tools, clothes, or music. This place has everything.

While they are awesome, just know they are full with animals and won't take in. They are awesome at reference to other places.. Heads up they won't accept any FIV positive cats, or fliv probably no heartworm positive animals either... Not making this negative just honest.
1 star means caution before you call. Not bad review!

The adoption process was simple and the staff/volunteers were very friendly. It's clear they provide excellent care to their animals. Thanks for the work you do for Yamhill County.

I love that Homeward Bound is a NO KILL shelter. I've both adopted my pets from there and brought them a sick and Malnourished animal I found. They do amazing work and are very kind. Please donate to them if you can, so they can continue saving the lives of the animals they receive!! They're always in need of dog, cat food and volunteers to help. Anything helps them and it all adds up
