I live in Manzanita and I absolutely adore this store. I like to support our local businesses and i bring my friends from out of town here to also support. That said, after a horrid experience with an employee today i was prepared to give the store one star - but felt that was not fair - given my history with the establishment. The employee an older, very white blond hair, "her" is not a good brand ambassador for this store. Here is why - I was taking my dogs for a walk down Dorcas. A street that runs parallel to Laneda the main street. Dorcas does not have sidewalks, though plenty of pedestrians and their dogs. I have two dogs and am cognizant of the vehicle traffic staying as close to the edge of the road as i can while walking two dogs. This employee drive up behind me, on the opposite side of the street (i walk against traffic, she was going in my direction) she blasted her horn at me several times and then was screaming at me to get off the road. I have no idea where she expected me to go since there aren't any sidewalks. And i wasn't even in her way!!! The honking from behind me scared me and also my noise sensitive dog. I saw where she parked and that she walked into this store. So i went to the store and she was behind the counter with the owner. I asked the woman why she honked at me... and she said "I was in her way and there was other traffic (there was not at this time and regardless no sidewalks!!!) " ???? I told her it was rude and as residents we should never honk at anyone. Her response, "I am sorry if my honking upset you" what???? Heres why i am giving a store what i would have given 5 stars only 3. The owner jumped in and said "why don't we just call this good, and move on?" I own a business and my employees know they are brand ambassadors always - every employer should expect that of their employees. Otherwise in cases like this they just enable destructive behavior by their staff. I told the owner i would not support their business as long as that employee works there or until she sincerely apologizes. Oh well, Sesame and Lillies isn't that far away and their staff is always respectful and pleasant.

A great place with a curated selection of artful home items/accessories in a cozy designed space. The modern adirondack chairs in the front of the store is a comfortable place to hang out (with coffee) if shopping is not your thing.
