Overall, a great experience. Everyone at Oceanlake made the appointment simple and smooth, the staff was kind and professional, The follow up call, the next day, to check on Omen was thoughtful.

Are your pets stressed going to the vet? Shaky? Hiding? Snarky? Then you'll want to read this.
We're new to town, and until now had been commuting to the Sherwood vet he's had for years, because great care is worth the effort. Then my dog and foster cats got sick, and couldn't handle a long drive in their condition.
My dog had some scary associations about vets, lingering fear. With training, he's great, but only if the vet staff takes things slow and patient and helps play the games he knows well. For today, I figured he needs help, he would likely struggle some, but it would be worth it, even if I couldn't uphold his training program.
Well, the staff there were amazing. Methodical, patient, excellent structure and pacing. Diagnostic protocols were absolutely on point. Good teachers, inviting questions and detailed and clear explanations when needed. They're good at supporting the humans too.
Keeping pets stress lower when possible affects healing and physical health too. He was relaxed and comfortable, even without treats to help, and I was over the moon grateful. It was the best case scenario at a precarious time.
He's such a lucky dog to have found such great care in such a vulnerable time of need. I'm a retired pet pro, spent 40 years in vet, rescue and training fields and learned how to ID awesomeness, and this clinic and their nurture kung fu has earned the highest regard.
Bonus features: Large seating area offering lots of space so stressed or snarky pets aren't crammed up together. Payment in room offered, no more distracted juggling of pets during payment in lobby. Based on this first brief impression, they make great efforts for offering leading methods and practices to the benefits of all their clients. Price was less than what I expected even though they did exactly the treatment regimen expected + fear free padded time.

Just moved here, my dog needed an appt. Everywhere else had a 2 week wait. My dog got in a little sooner (9 days.). They were nice, got everything she needed and will be going back. Prices were great. In Portland a new pet exam was $89.99 at the cheapest place I could find. Here it was $69.00. Prescriptions were $25. I usually take a written script to Walmart since it's cheaper. But this was a lot less than my old vet who charges $14/pill.

Our guinea pigs were well cared for while we were gone on a family vacation. It's hard to find good care for exotic pets.

Just had my first visit with my rescue dog, Penny, who i've had about 11 days. She snaps at strangers and is starting to trust me but hasn't dealt with many strangers. Sam and Dr Merriam were super-patient, super-sweet and are the first strangers to pet Penny. Despite Penny snapping at Dr Merriam, the doctor was very patient, very calm and treated Penny with such love and caring. Very transparent, very informative and you can tell Sam and Dr Merriam both love their jobs and animals. I can't say enough good things about them and would highly recommend their services for your beloved pets.
