“Every trip to the Columbia Factory Store in Lake Oswego (and in Bend also) has been met with helpful, friendly and efficient sales and other employees. Also, some of their sales are phenomenal, especially when you include their military or senior discounts.”
“Knowledgeable, helpful, great products-shoes, insoles, performance socks.
Nice store, nice products. Parking has always been bad, now it's impossible so I won't go there any more.”
“The owner and one man show is such a great guy and is an excellent craftsman from what I’ve seen so far. He helped me with a small last minute heel issue and didn’t even charge me even though I tried to hand him some cash! He just asked me to leave a review and come back with “real” repair jobs. Well, my most loved boots need some work and I hope he can fix the sole that is separating.
I’ll be driving across town and returning on Monday. Fingers crossed my beloved boots aren’t beyond repair.”
“I went to this location today on my day off. I am usually too busy to pause and reflect.
But I had such a great experience at this store and with Suzanne that and I wanted to just pause and express my appreciation.
Having recently lost a bit of weight, I finally resigned to my dire need for new scrubs. I haven’t shopped for clothes in quite a few months and I haven’t bought scrubs in a shop scrub in years. (Apparently 4 years, according to my last address in their records) I usually buy the old reliable brands and styles online and it’s whatever.
Suzanne greeted me and took care of me the way I’ve been taken care of in the most bougie clothing stores. I didn’t even look on the racks myself. She just listened to what I liked and didn’t like and went to work.
I was just amazed that she automatically knew exactly how a certain brand’s fabric would hang on my frame. She knew to grab a petite in a certain style even though my measurements are borderline. She’s that good.
Also, I stopped to write this review because I only recently found myself 30 lbs lighter, and I have no idea what size I am, especially in scrubs. She just knew what size would fit on sight when I myself had no clue. I left with scrubs that were perfect for me and for my current role. And I am a pretty particular nurse, fwiw.
Suzanne even found joggers that looked cute AND were perfect for the hot weather. I had given up on the idea of ever wearing a flattering pair of joggers in scrubs. I was a medium in sizes I was just buying in L and XL out of habit.
If you are in need of anything scrubs related, just stop in this location and see Suzanne. She is going to hook you up.”
“I have been dreaming of a place like this for many years. I got into the barefoot movement long ago and there were so few shoes available. Now it's possible to walk into a place where you can try out all of these different brands and approaches for yourself. That would've been amazing. But the staff are also so helpful and knowledgeable, and every time I've been in there I've also had great conversations with the other people shopping. If you've ever been the least bit curious about this other way of walking and living and experiencing, don't hesitate to come by this delightful place of welcome and exploration.”
“Back to the Basket is the epitome of what it means to support local community. They sponsor local youth basketball teams, hold events and fundraisers for the community at their store, at neighborhood basketball courts in Portland parks, and all around Portland. They have the sweetest staff ever every single one of them is super kind. They’re super knowledgeable about all things basketball! Whether you’re looking for the sweetest kicks, vintage basketball clothes, bobble heads, dolls, basketball, planters, novelty, memorabilia, they have all things basketball. Go check them out already!”
“5 star experience for my daughter’s FIRST SKATEBOARD! Devon was fantastic. 10/10 dude. It was late & he stayed past closing to help us. A lot of great information and got to commiserate over the good ol’ days of the 90’s. Educated us on the board & fully assembled it for us (very knowledgeable, very patient, very friendly and not in a weird way). Even gave my kid a free lesson at the end! Place has 5 stars for a reason. We’re just in town visiting but whether you’re new to Portland or a skate regular this is your one stop shop! Thanks so much Devon! Keep on keepin on man ?”
“Greetings upon walking in. Made to feel comfortable and welcomed. Staff seemed very knowledgeable. They do treadmill gait test and test you in different shoes for fit and feel. Now for the ultimate test - walking without pain.”
“When in to Boot Co NW a couple weeks ago. The gentleman that helped me was polite, knowledgeable, and very helpful. I have wide feet and edema. He quickly locate a boot that not only fit but was very comfortable. I have had several problems getting boots to fit. He knew exactly what brands would work. He ordered me a pair and I picked them up today. Today he was helpful again and was a pleasure to deal with. Would highly recommend to anyone shopping for boots.”
“We live down south, but somehow my husband managed to come across this store when searching for a pair of very hard to find Ugg Slippers for our teenage daughter. We placed an order for the last available pair, which just happened to be in her size (we hope). We were going to pay extra for 3-day shipping, but then couldn’t find the option when checking out. So we went ahead and placed the order hoping for the best that they would arrive in time for Christmas. The next day Andrew called to say that they would definitely arrive after Christmas, if that is what he had ordered them for. Then offered 3-day shipping if we would like for them to arrive in time for Christmas. We happily paid the extra cost to expedite to make sure they got to us in time and they were even delivered a day early! From what I gather, this store is more for seat covers. But I highly recommend this store! Great service!”
“Awesome shop. Staff is great. Kevin went above and beyond to help me find a part I needed, then fixed the product for me. Have just about everything you need and good deals. We love it here <3”
“I had a great experience with ordering specific items and Sue Rubey did a great job explaining and guided me through the process. They are very professional and have lots of knowledge. Respect!!”
“Absolutely fantastic service from Issac and Monty!! They help me find a shoe that was in my price range as well as educating me on the different soul types. If I end up going with new balances for my next pair of shoes, I will definitely be purchasing from here. Excellent service.”
“Best selection of boots I have ever seen in one store. I ALWAYS have to try on 10 pairs to find something that actually fits and they had them. Sales staff isn't pushy and are very helpful if you ask, so nice for introverts and extroverts.Prices are very reasonable and if you need it they can order your size for you.”

“I traded some older vintage Nike SB Dunks for 2 pretty sought after pairs. I'm across the country in CT and had concerns, like anyone would, about shipping my items to the store first. But I can tell you everything was top notch, I literally couldn't have asked for a better experience. The inventory they have is insane and the prices are solid for the quality. I've seen other stores charge more for worse condition. This will definitely be one of many transactions! ??????”
“If you're a dancer, and haven't taken the time to stop in either location, you really would do so. I can honestly say that in the 25+ years I've been wearing pleaser heels, and throughout 5+ different states across the country, I have never seen a larger selection - nothing even came close . . . Including many online vendors. If you need a pair of heels and can't wait for delivery from the manufacturer? This is the only real option there is . . .”
“Going to Jay’s is like the first class shoe stores of the past, salespeople that know their products very well, they listen to your concerns, talk about the shoe as they help put the shoe on and off. They actually measure your feet! They evaluate your stride and really know what they are talking about.I have 4E width and one foot with a little claw toe so have unusual needs in feet. My podiatrist Dr. Steve Tillett recommended Jays and because I live on the Westside it took me a while to come over to Jay’s Clackamas location. I wish I had come over sooner!I came into to buy some walking shoes and hiking boots. The salesperson showed me a variety of both styles and I walked out the door with Keene shoes and Dunham boots. I’ve had them for a couple,of weeks and they are fitting great.IF YOU HAVE WIDE FEET AND LIVE ANYWHERE NEAR THE PORTLAND METRO AREA, GO TO JAY’S!!!!”
“Valentina at this location was extremely professional, helpful, and friendly. She is above and beyond in her knowledge of Vans products, even product history and discontinued items”
“I love this place!! It is a to-go for great dancewear that is close to an Arts school. We came here twice, one for tap shoes and one for jazz shoes. The service is spectacular, and they have lots of experience.”
“Great, locally owned running store. Local and nationwide brands, personable staff that will find your perfect running or walking shoe. They host group runs and seasonal training sessions for kids and adults, all paces and experience; check their website for times.”
“Okay, I've finally figured out that the reason I can't find Merrell outlets all over Portland is because there are Columbia outlets everywhere, instead. The deals I got here made me just as happy as the deals I'm used to getting at my favorite Merrell outlet in Folsom. I got two pairs of waterproof nonslip boots for work-- one Columbia and one Sorel-- both for $55. I had almost purchased a similar pair of Columbia boots at DSW for $70 a few days ago, so I ended up being so glad I held out for a better deal. They had so many good deals at this outlet, it was literally overwhelming. They had an entire floor of clearance Columbia and Mountain Hardware jackets. I also noticed a huge selection of PFG gear. I'm not into fishing, but I like their lightweight long sleeve sunblocking shirts.
Customer service was friendly, one of the employees was also a seasonal national park worker, so we ended up talking about that a little bit. Overall a great experience and I would definitely shop here again.”
“Best place to buy shoes for kiddos in Portland! The owner, Carey, is so kind and knowledgeable about everything in the shop, too. My favorite place to shop for all things baby and up in PDX.”
“Today was my first time visiting the store and it went incredibly well! I am a novice runner that already suffers from plantar fasciitis, and the Sales Rep truly took his time explaining things and showing me several viable options best suited for me. I’m truly excited about my new purchase and I absolutely can’t wait to hit the local track soon!! ???”
“I have bought Spring Awesome Sauce (in bulk) from this company online many times, and have had particular needs on multiple occasions. Portland Running Company has provided absolutely top notch customer service. Ryan, Becky, and others have been really great.”
“Nice store with friendly employees. I try to shop local instead of buying Birkenstocks from a chain retailer or online and Signature Shoes has been my go-to recently. They have a nice selection of socks, including compression socks”
“Edit: I’m very impressed with the fact that the store owner contacted me regarding my first review. He was very concerned and offered me a small discount on a pair of shoes. Im very impressed with how humble he is. He didn’t make excuses and took responsibility and that show’s character. So I’m updating my review to reflect the dedication this owner has towards maintaining a good name. I still really want to try out more Topo shoes so I will be trying them again at a different location that is bigger and is able to carry a larger stock. I really like the quality of shoes they offer. As we get older we have to take care of our feet and the foot traffic will help with that.As others said the selection is Tiny compared to their other location so my suggestion is to call ahead of time.I did go ahead and erase my other review because in hindsight it was hasty. If I had an issue I should have contacted a higher up person and given them the chance to offer a resolution before running to the internet.”
“I brought my daughter here today to be fitted for a bra. Selené was wonderfully helpful and even remembered exactly which bra we were talking about when we came back a couple hours later (on a busy Labor day) to buy it. When we need to do any bra shopping in the future we will definitely come back here.”
“This is a cute clothing and gift store that recently opened in Cedar Hills Shopping Center, right next to Bamboo Sushi. Unlike the larger chains, this is definitely a boutique with items carefully curated to fit a specific vibe. Lots of neutral layering pieces - t-shirts, tank tops, sweaters, jackets - plus jeans, pants and dresses in all different price ranges. Add a pop of color from purses, scarves and other accessories to change up your outfit and add personality. In addition to the clothing, they have a variety of home decor and accessories for you or gifts for friends. Lovely scented candles and lotions, and coffee mugs, coasters and dish towels with funny sayings. If you are in this area, stop in! It's a nice change and a more intimate experience compared to the big box stores (TJMAXX, Ross) in this shopping center.”
“It’s been years since I’ve been back just due to a lot of different things but I know that every time I come to this store the employees are going to be honest and super helpful!I walked in he ran the fit test throughly and gave great real advice. The store always has a good stock and I am getting back into running. Thank you for helping easy the aches and pains I was getting from the wrong shoes!”
“BEST customer service…EVER!!
I called at 5pm on Friday, 8-2-24 and spoke to Allison. My BFF, unable to find “THE” dress for her birthday and Alanis concert to celebrate on Sunday and had to be in OC by 6pm, was on the verge of a meltdown in the parking lot and I was unable to get there until after she would have had to leave for her 6pm appt. I explained all this to Allison, gave her BFFs measurements, fave colors and told her she’d be walking in the door any moment. Allison assured me that she had her covered. Covered was a serious understatement!!
I can not begin to express the gratitude that we have for her!! All while having multiple clients in the store that she was also assisting not only had multiple outfits/dresses picked out and in her size, she had them all waiting for her in a dressing room! As I FaceTimed my friend, Allison continued to check on her, give input, swap sizes, all while continuing to wait on and take care of multiple customers! Sadly, I know of very few stores, gas station's, any places really that care about the customer. They all should, but instead, they treat you really unpleasant if you ask them to DO something to help you. To have someone be kind, caring, friendly all while staying calm in the midst of my friend and I panicking?? There are no words that can convey the relief that finding THE dress gave is and sum up our sincere gratitude that we both have.
Again, Allison, we so appreciate you!! With your help, she had the best birthday she’s had in years. Thanks for making our night out to see Alanis Morissette a magical and smashing success!!”
