I've been in the market for a new chainsaw and found a Stihl 462 chainsaw; online that was for sale on the LaPine Ace website. They had it listed at $1,279.99 for a Stihl 462 R C-M. I thought it might be too good to be true so I decided to go down and check it out. They had it listed for $1,449.99 a Stihl 462 R C-M on the shelf in stock. I asked an employee about the online price but, he didn't seem interested. So I put the saw back and went home. The next day I called the store and asked why the online price was cheaper; a different employee said that it was in fact cheaper online and to go ahead and order it if that's what I wanted. I gave her the item number and she said they had one in stock; and I could pay for it online and pickup at the store. So I paid for it online and got an order confirmation email. The email instructed me to wait for a email indicating it's ready for pickup. After an hour I decided to head down to the store and that's when I got an email. The email said my order had been cancelled and my money had been refunded. Then I got a call from Ace the employee said there was a mixup with the part numbers and inventory. They told me that the $1,279.99 price was 4 years old and that the saw was actually $1,449.99. The employee said I could order the saw since it now wasn't in stock. So I asked what saw was sitting on the shelf; he stated it was different from the saw online and the one on the shelf retailed for $1,600. But, I had held the exact chainsaw in my hands the day before. I told the employee they should update the online price and he then asked if I wanted to order the saw to which I said no. I was surprised they didn't try to work with me about the price discrepancy. They just said well that's the price so it is what it is. Overall I'm not impressed with how they handled this situation so I'll be taking my business somewhere else.

We moved to La Pine in 2016. Ace was one of those places that if we ever had to move again, it would be sad to leave. Very much a small town store. People knew your name, everyone was very nice, etc. Through fencing our entire property, building a shop, renovating a kitchen and countless other projects, it wouldn't be stretch to say I have spent over $100k at this store in the last 7 years. However and sadly, I won't spend another penny there again. The last few years, everything that was good here is gone, and prices are unworldly. Id accept that, if I felt my business is appreciated, which it isn't.

My husband went to town to grab some things for our chicken coop, while the wood was being loaded up he went inside because he remembered I had sent him a coupon from our loyalty account. He had no even left the premises of the business and they refused to adjust the cost based on the coupon. This is just poor customer service, it is not like it is a week later and we found the coupon .. it hadn't even been ten minutes since he was cashed out and they refused to adjust the transaction.

Their lumberyard is worse than ever bear lumber is left in the rain on covered and the store owner thinks it's acceptable to sell wood that has been soaked, front door window glass has been broken for weeks looks like a rundown nasty business, this aside they are so over priced from any other hardware store it's ridiculous, they can't keep help, If you want to waste money and buy over priced poor quality lumber go to Ace

This IS the place! Once saw John Madden there and he said this store is the best of the bunch. Really, i do love this ace. Great staff. And La Pine just has great people.

Ace hardware in lapine is a joke. I ordered something from them on line 2 weeks ago and got an email last week that it was in but when I went to pick it up was told it was still in the warehouse and would be in the following week which is today and now I am told that it was in the store last week and was sent back today so now they claim it will be there next week. This is poor customer service and I will never order anything through them ever again.

The staff seems to be very knowledgeable and professional The inventory is large and well organized Not much else you can say about a hardware store.

Used to love this store, but now they are brainwashed fascist mask nazis! The plandemic is a hoax, and the governor's orders allow for people to be unmasked if they have medical conditions, but this Ace decided to be even stricter than they're required to be, forcing you to wear a mask or face shield! Appalling and disgusting they would do this to customers! Lowe's in Bend doesn't require a facemask if you have a medical exemption, Lowe's is also cheaper and larger selection. Before I would go above and beyond to support this local store, now my goal is to do the opposite!

Always good services and very helpful full service Harware and Lumber Yard One Stop for all your needs hardware and building needs Only had one problum on Saturday 12/14/19 with casher at close to closing time 4:50 PM She over Rang me by $20.99 for LED lights that I did not buy or bring to the checkout counter When I showed her the OVERRING I was told I would NOT receve a refund on our ATM card or cash back then It's a ATM card not a charge card I told her It was not MY mistake it was all on her The banks take anywhere from three to seven days to clear a refund The manger was of no help except I'm Sorry Sir it was not your fault the casher is the one who overrang me I got the song and dance it's company policy ! Poor Company Policy That's a pile of Crap I'll STILL give five stars for ALL the other fine folks at ACE La Pine The casher needs to pay attention to her job and not about it's almost closing time I'll never go to her again Thank You

This store is amazing, amazing, amazing! I am a single woman on my own for the first time in my life at 47. And I am used to having a husband or dad or grandpa that can do anything. Now I have none of those. And the people at Ace answer all my stupid questions and do t make me feel stupid. And help me with sincerity and caring. They are truly the best group of people including the cashiers who just make your day even better. Fantastic store! Need to go in there tomorrow and I actually can't wait! It's fun to go to the hardware store. Didn't think I would ever say that!!!
