DO NOT GO HERE!! My fiancé called lopez auto because his clutch pedal was squeaking and we were worried he needed his clutch replaced. This should’ve been our first red flag but the person we spoke to on the phone insisted that we buy a replacement clutch before we bring the car in. They hadn’t even seen our car to diagnose an issue but we assumed just by the info we told them that they knew we definitely had to replace the clutch. So we go through with it and get the clutch and they replace it in a few days. The day after we pick it up we drive for barely 30 minutes before the clutch pedal loses pressure and gets stuck in the “in” position and won’t come back off the floor. We get it towed back to lopez auto and they are unable to find an issue and say “they greased it up” (which we later find out that isn’t even a thing and there’s no greasing a clutch pedal). the clutch eventually pops down into place and they send us home saying it should be fine now. They also say that if the clutch gets stuck again to get down and hand pump the clutch until it comes back up but this always just seemed to make it worse. This exact situation would go on to happen 2 mores times. One of them being 5 minutes after leaving lopez auto after they had told us the car was definitely safe to drive to eugene. So in total we paid to get our car towed their 3 separate times. The last time they checked our car out they said the problem we’re having could’ve been the slave cylinder, the master cylinder’s or the clutch pedal and if we bought the parts they would fix it. Again just to emphasize they reallly put pressure on the fact that we should just buy the parts so that they can replace it. At that point we were pretty uncomfortable taking our car back to them so we took it to my fiancés family mechanic. This new mechanic realizes not only did lopez auto put the clutch in incorrectly by securing the slave cylinder with bolt 2 times the size it should’ve been almost as if they lost the original bolt, they also neglected to bleed the slave cylinder and master cylinder after (incorrectly) replacing the clutch as it should always be done after replacing the clutch. The new mechanic fixed those issues and now the car is running perfectly normal and hasn’t had a single issue. No need for a new master cylinder, slave cylinder or clutch pedal like lopez auto was trying to pressure us into fixing. It is completely unethical and unprofessional for a mechanic to pressure people who don’t know as much as them into fixing parts that DONT need replaced. They seems really nice and helpful at first but truthfully the only impression i have of them now is that they are scammers monopolizing on the fact our tiny community doesn’t have very many options when it comes to mechanics.

Mr. Lopez was polite friendly and knowledgeable. He kept me informed of the progress on my old dodge truck and quoted me a fair price. He repaired my truck quickly and problem solved an oil leak, keeping my engine from seizing up. It was a positive experience.

Swapped engine in my truck and told me it was the same and pulled from like truck. Found out after install it was from a suburban. Told him I wanted to keep the old engine to rebuild it myself. He then proceeds to drop the engine twice with their fork lift while loading it into my truck. He did not evacuate or recharge the AC system and left a 10.9 bolt loosely under the hood of the truck. He damaged all plastics under the hood when attempting to lower the engine back into the truck bay. He stripped the spark plug on cylinder 6 as well when swapping over one spark plug, which is not protocol. Spark plugs should have been left in both engines and not touched. Filed report with BBB to no answer from Lopez Repair Shop.
