Not an autism friendly store. My first time to Trader Joe’s, and they had a lot to look at that was slightly different and interesting. I only came in for one thing, and left with 6. However, it was really noisy, really crowded, and navigating traffic can only be described as trying to make your way through a child’s play place with everyone trying to get to the same destination, very quickly. When I got to the check out register, the cashier just kinda looked at me and held out a hand as I was walking with the 6 small things in my arms to the counter. I didn’t understand where they wanted me to put things down. And so after handing them one thing, they just stared at me. And then, a bit too rudely, yanked out the little table for those in a wheelchair to sign checks on. So I put my stuff there, and they kinda just stared. So I moved to the counter and they asked me if I needed a bag. I said yes, and saw there was one in front of me. So I picked it up and asked, do I use this one? And they said okay, you do need a bag. (They may not have heard me clearly). And they said I could use that one, so I started opening it and they took it from me and kinda stared at me again. And then they started to open the bag themselves, and noticed it was broken, so they said they would get a new one for me. They had already told me my total, and I was trying to pay while they were just staring in my direction. After about 10-15 seconds, they pressed a button on their computer to let me pay. So I paid, and they grabbed the receipt, and just handed it out in my general direction without looking at me or saying anything. I said, thank you. And I don’t remember what they said, but it was to the extent of “no problem”. I checked out at the 15 items or less today at about 5:15pm, at the register closest to the door on the left.
I have to say, it’s extremely discouraging to motivate myself to go out in public and try new things, and repeatedly I am treated less than what is considered normal. I truly don’t understand what it is about me that makes others treat me differently at stores. I’m a nice person, I say thank you, I say Hi. Maybe y’all should get your employees some training about autism awareness, and perhaps have a shopping period for autistic individuals. And hey, maybe if someone has never been to one of your stores before, they might not know how the whole “system” works for obtaining and paying for items at this specific place. I tried to shop online, but it says they don’t sell online because they have very knowledgeable team members ready to help in store. “Knowledgeable “. Please, can any store out there train employees on autistic individuals and their experience? I’m barely able to go out on my own, and this just kills me. Every time. Respect would be appreciated.

Always love to shop at Trader Joe's. Good variety of grocery and merchandise with reasonable price. The only down side is the store gives you an intimate feeling when it's not busy, but extremely crowded when more people are in the store

The absolute BEST in every way. They treat everyone equally. It doesn't matter who you are; they are just great! The food is top quality and delicious. It's worth the 45 minute drive both ways. They have gained a loyal costumer(.)

My favorite place to shop at home or when we travel. You know what you are getting and paying.
Even though they have raised the prices significantly, one of the best places to shop.
Great customer service. They hire the best, caring and friendly staff. Thank you TJ.

Trader Joes is truly Great store with wide variety of tasty treats, LOTS of fresh pre-made salads and so many vegan options.
The floral dept has a pretty huge selection of flowers to create the perfect bouquet. They also got a nice assortment of greeting cards and lots of wonderful things to put together a nice gift basket.
The wine selection is vast. And it’s conveniently located by the bread and the cheese. ? and deli meat.
I picked up a few household cleaners that I’ve never seen in other stores; they were priced really well. Overall, I am pretty impressed with the price points. Trader Joe’s seems to be not only more appealing for its selections, but also more affordable than the bigger chain stores. I’m big on snacks so I really appreciated their huge snack aisle.
They’ve got tons of prepared, frozen meals to choose from.
I bought some tea tree shampoo, and conditioner that I like. It was priced really well and it’s a great product. Overall great store very friendly and welcoming. You do have to be careful because it’s kind of a fast moving pace in there and people tend to move quickly, and sometimes a little thoughtlessly, so be prepared for that.

I stock up every time I am in Portland! We need a Trader Joe's at the coast.

Trader Joe's is a better shopping experience overall. I don't feel overwhelmed by too many products, and I can still find everything I need. I will be shopping at this store predominately from now on.

Google has been bugging me to write a review of trader Joe's and unlike some other reviews I was actually in the store so here it goes.
Trader Joe's is always busy, but not uncomfortably busy, the checkout lines seem to go quickly and they don't scrimp on checkers. Always enough! Their prices are reasonable compared to Whole paycheck and other similar stores. I can say I've never had a problem here. It's a good place to go if you need food. Ok is that good enough for you Google?
