Below is a copy of the email I plan on sending Tonkin HQ about my experience:Arrived Monday morning and test drove a vehicle. I brought 2 friends on the test drive with me. They both heard the salesperson tell me they could do MSRP on the vehicle I wanted. Glad I went with two people. We had to go and I had to get other pricing and think about quoted price. Now, I did ask for 3000 off MSRP as I've never payed MSRP before and as an example, I know right now there are vehicles offering 8000 off MSRP (2023 Buick Envision for example), but I had some checking around to do and needed to think on the offer of MSRP. After checking around, I went back in on Black Friday (4 business days later) ready to make the buy. The original salesperson was busy and I ended up talking to a different one. I was ready to buy and asked for the out the door price but now, everything was $1000 over MSRP. So I wanted to know what changed and there was some back and fourth conversation and negotiation. They kept claiming they never offered MSRP but they would take a chunk off of the one I test drove and then proceeded to give me numbers on the wrong vehicle. I know I test drove a different vehicle on Monday because the one I drove had a heated steering wheel and it was cold out and the heat was so nice on my hands. But they adamantly told me that their records showed I drove a different one. If I had not brought two friends with me that day, I would have questioned my own sanity. I asked that they bring in the original salesperson to help clear things up which they told me they wouldn't do which I understood but then asked that they just go ask that person then, and they wouldn't do that either. By now, I had been negotiating with the sales manager as well as the new salesperson but the sales manager had left the room to do something else. I told the salesman. That if he could work up the out the door price on two of the vehicles I was trying to choose between, I would pick the one I wanted and wrap this up. At this point, the sales manager came in, stood over me and my 70 year old father in law who drove me in because I was planning on driving a new vehicle home and loudly and angrilly accused me of bullying and that they would not pull that other sales person in to interrogate them and they have right of refusal and threatened to kick me out. All I had wanted was to clear up the vehicle I had test driven because they said they would give a bigger discount on that vehicle vs the other vehicle I had not seen on Monday because as the new salesperson informed me, it was around in the back. After the vehement accusations against me, he told me he would go work up the price on the two vehicles and left the room. I sat there in stunned silence for about 15 seconds and then followed him out. I finally caught up and told him I didn't appreciate his accusations of bullying and not to bother with the work up because I was done. My father inlaw and I then walked out and I will likely never go back to any Tonkin lot. So glad I had people with me each time or I would have questioned my own sanity! Storming in to an office and falsely accusing a customer of bullying and threatening to throw them out because that customer wanted to have things cleared up is not something I would ever expect!

I'm writing this to warn others that the sales staff is encouraged to lie to potential buyers to get them on the lot. We had an hour drive, confirmed with the salesperson, they confirmed with their manager, we had agreed on a price. We drove. We sat in the waiting room 15 minutes, never met our salesperson, and then another person told us it would be just a few minutes, the car was on it's way. We wait. Then a new person comes out and tells us "I'm sorry, someone bought the car, we have others would you like to see them?" So frustrated. Don't lie to us, I understand it's first come first served on cars, but don't lie to us.

TONKIN HILLSBORO FORD ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️What a breath of fresh air! ?We were immediately greeted by the most delightful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, professional Salesperson I have ever met.Autumn Sanchez⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️She was beyond ⭐️generous; she lavished her incredible talents and ⭐️product knowledge upon us. She answered and re-answered our many many questions.. we were spitting out questions left and right.. many she’d so patiently answered already.⭐️ (we’re old! We forget!?)But never once did we feel old or clunky, at TONKIN FORD HILLSBORO.⭐️The entire team was amazing. We were offered an extremely fair price for our trade-in! The Sales manager⭐️ found every discount available to us.The receptionist, the whole team, treated us so warmly. In the future, TONKIN FORD HILLSBORO and AUTUMN SANCHEZ⭐️ will be who we buy from again.A million thanks, for a wonderful and fun experience!! We LOVE our Heritage edition Bronco Sport- in Robin’s Egg Blue!?

We recently just purchased a new ford explorer from Tonkin Hillsboro Ford, and all I can say is WOW. From the start of our experience to the end, Isaac Wilson was incredible! He was very patient with us not knowing exactly what we wanted and flip flopping, super kind and nice to our kids who had to tag along, and he helped us find our dream car! He was super knowledgeable and made the whole experience so positive and easy! Give that guy a nice huge raise, because that was the best customer experience we ever had! So if your looking for a new or used ford, definitely go to Tonkin ford Hillsboro and ask for Isaac!!The only downside my husband and I didn’t like, but I won’t let that take away from the 5 stars, is one of the financial guys we worked with was kind and fun in the beginning, but after my dad who knows some management over there called in and wanted to help us with this process since it was our first brand new car, he made some uncomfortable jokes such as “must be nice to know people in high up places” & when I turned down of the maintenance packages he joked “well guess daddy will be paying for all your repairs”. I don’t know him well enough to know if he’s joking or not, and I found it kind of rude and so did my husband.But overall, Isaac and the team was awesome!

Chad and Juan made my buying experience effortless. They were patient, knowledgeable, and very upfront about my new vehicle and my trade in. By far the best dealership I have ever worked with. I will highly recommend both of them to all my friends and family.

The Team at Ron Tonkin Ford in Hillsboro are Professionals. I knew what car I wanted, they allowed me to see different trims and options. The did not push me or rushed me. Tim allowed me to see the different cars, the different colors. The different prices. They talked to me about the different financing options they have for leasing and buying. They worked with me to find the car that I wanted. Great communication, they made me feel at home. I will definitely come back for my next car at Ron Tonkin Ford Hillsboro.

Carlos was very helpful and the car I had seen online ready and waiting for me when I arrived. He showed me all the derails in the vehicle, and I ended up purchasing it. The gentleman kn financing was also very helpful and made sure I got a good deal.

I had a great service experience with Ray at Tonkin Ford in Hillsboro. He was attentive and kept me informed as Kennedy, the mechanic went through my Mustang. It had been sitting parked for several years and needed a full mechanical inspection. Sadly they found extensive rodent damage to my wiring. A new harness wasn't available so Kennedy patched in new sections of wire. A big shout out to Kennedy who did the work in addition to Ray, the Service Mgr. So pleased with the service and the completed work.

Very bad experience. Original quote in writing was $1000 less than what they then charged. Plus they tried to upsell me an additional $3000. Service took forever. They had my vehicle for ten days and gave no update for 6 of them.Then the kicker was they DAMAGED my car while they had it. Huge amounts of water damage inside the car that wasn’t reported to me. The sunroof was broken in their shop (they were fixing a water pump) and they refused to fix it unless I paid for it. Even though they are the one who broke it. When I went I pick it up, there were still problems and I had to leave it longer.The whole experience was disappointing. When you pay $4000 for a repair you should expect a level of service I did not receive. And for your vehicle to be returned in the condition you left it in. With repairs done but not further damage.

I have been working with the Hillsboro Tonkin Ford service department for over a year now and they have been surprising to work with to say the least. As a manager of a large construction fleet based out of state it is refreshing to work with someone like Valentina at Tonkin Ford. She is polite, and keeps my team informed throughout the service process whenever one of our company vehicles is dropped off. It truly feels like we can trust she has our interests in mind, and our business is appreciated. The continued customer service we receive at Tonkin says a lot about the management and ownership of a business run like this.

It was a pleasure working a deal with Tonkin Hillsboro Ford. I purchased a 2023 Ford Bronco and the purchase experience was one of the best I've had. I rarely buy vehicle in state because other dealers seem to not be focused on the customer. Please don't hesitate to work with Tim who is patient, kind, and understanding. Working with him was great and George the sales manager. Finance was also easy and no pressure. I highly recommend Tonkin Hillsboro Ford!

Juan is the best! We bought a car from him back in 2021 and had a great experience. We then drove the 1.5 hours again just yesterday to buy our second car from him. Unmatched in customer service, genuine kindness, and doing what’s best for us. We were looking at a great condition used car VS. buying new. Juan could tell I really preferred the drive of the used car VS the engine for the new car, and did not try to push the new car on us (even though he would have probably profited more from it). We intend to always return to Juan with our future car purchases.

The process was seamless. When we began, we visited a few other dealers, and we came to Tonkin to learn more about Broncos. The sales person, Autumn, met us in the lot. She showed us some Broncos, answered all of our questions, and went with us on a test drive. Zero pressure from Autumn. We left, but returned the next day with more questions. Autumn was very clear and detailed in all answers. We decided on getting a Bronco after visiting other dealers with other makes/models. We returned a third time to make our purchase, which took a couple hours. At this point, we talked to the finance guy, who was also very helpful. In the whole process, we only talked to the two persons. Zero pressure. We had visited other dealers, but the Tonkin staff was the most knowledgeable, helpful, and low key.
