I called to make an appointment and was on hold forever. I get it they’re busy, whatever. The lady that answered was SUPER rude. I decided not to take my puppy here. Going elsewhere.

Companion in Hillsboro is one of the few (maybe only) walk-in clinics in the area which worked for me being in the area for family visiting. The staff was incredibly friendly from the person who answered the phone to the techs who helped me check out at the end. Dr. Crepeau who examined our pup was very friendly, reassuring, and incredibly knowledgeable. Although the diagnosis wasn’t great news, I felt so much better knowing that Winston received excellent care and we received medications at affordable prices. We could have ended up at any animal clinic, but we really lucked out walking into Companion. Winston is doing a lot better and we were also given information on what signs to look for if we need to bring him in again which was also reassuring to know.

Hard to get your pet seen because they go by first come first served. No acuity assessment or pet triage done, just write your name on the waitlist and hope for the best.
The staff at the front desk need some customer service training. If I had to base the experience on the reception staff I wouldn’t come here. When I walked in the staff member could barely muster a strained hello for a greeting. Pathetic. I guess learning how to say hi wasn’t in their linguistic repertoire.
Will update if I get my pet seen here.

I thought my dog was dying :(
They got him in right away and the vet explained things very well’. Friendly staff and the veterinarians are great!

This has been our vet location for almost 22 years now, but in the last visit, it's gone downhill so bad. Called in to be on hold for 15 minutes before someone answered. Told them everything, and they put me on hold to never come back. After waiting for 25 minutes on hold, I just drove over there since I'm 7 minutes away for them to have no one in the lobby and only 3 rooms taken. Wow, really! Then they can't find my pet under my name? My pet has been seen there before and makes me mad they want me to pay for a new exam. Plus, they tell me they have 1 doctor on, and the wait is an hour or more. Are you kidding me? I've taken 11 different pets here over the last 22 years, and never, even during the pandemic, did I ever have this issue. They would be packed and would get 10+ people through in less than an hour. Now 3 people and over an hour. With the issue, I went in for them to seem like it was nothing. My animal came in contact with something very harmful to animals. But I reached out to the organization I got my animal through, and they told me what I can do for now and what to watch for. The only doctor I would recommend here is Dr. Pilversack. Sadly, he was off when I went in. He has seen all my animals and has been amazing with them all. But staff here doesn't care anymore. While there, someone was picking up their animal ashes, and staff didn't even show sympathy to them. I've lost so many and got their ashes and the staff before cared so much and at least would show sympathy or even say, "I'm so sorry." It broke my heart for the other person picking up that they didn't even care. I cried when the ashes were handed over to the person, and I said, "I'm so sorry for your loss." I did more than the staff that wasn't doing anything but sit on the computer. They need better front staff here. Oh, side note. They are only Monday-Friday location now. It kind of sucks because they didn't change there Monday-Friday hours to maybe an hour longer since they took away 2 days being the busiest days, too.

Wait was understandably long, and the end result was an affordable and effective treatment for my kitty. I highly recommend companion animal hospital and I’ll use them again if my kitty gets sick

My experience at Companion Animal Hospital was very positive. The vet was worth waiting for as she was knowledgeable and kind. My wait time was over 6 hours but the receptionist was upfront about this. She suggested that I go home and call to check on the status of the waitlist which I did. I live in Portland, and it was still worth the two trips to Hillsboro.

Absolutely amazing. I’ve taken my cats to other vets but this one was hands down best one. Very welcoming, and kind. Also being a walk in is nice too.

Amazing staff. Listened and understood what I was needing. Offered multiple choices and did not try to charge me for other things that were not neccessary. I would highly recommend!!

Really like the doctor and level of service. I just wish they took appointments to avoid long wait time.

It was alright. They stuck a thermometer up my dogs pooper and gave her the rabies vaccine. $110 for the two. Expensive. Did not want or need the exam but somehow it ended up on my bill. First she quoted $250 for ear cleaning products as well and for them to clean the ears. She told me I could save $50 if I cleaned them myself. Then I had to ask for the exam and vaccines only. Vets are salespeople. Dont trust them.

Thank you so much to Dr. Margaret and the friendly staff at Companion Animal Hospital. My baby was injured two days ago and I have been in/out of the hospital with him. Its been a nightmare but the team really took care of Gus and made sure he wasn't waiting long and we discussed, in detail, all treatment options. Thank you to each and every one of you.

Costs high, but treatment was very good. Waiting time was excessive. Need to use appointment basis. Walk it's are told before noon that they may not even be seen that day.

Staff is very knowledgeable, patient, and helpful despite their very busy clinic. If you come prepared to wait and understand the nature of a walk in clinic, you won't be disappointed!
