I have been volunteering at Pet Rescue for the last 15 years. I never bring home an animal until I met our Howie. He has been the best dog ever. They work really hard and finding homes for people in HERMISTON and the surrounding areas. They have a wonderful staff who care very much about what is best for the animals. They also have a thrift store that is in the parking lot that helps to support the animals too. I highly recommend coming here. ❤️

Pet Rescue is a great place to adopt a new family member and essential to our Hermiston community! I work for a vet office that honors their adoption vouchers and we see so many happy families with wonderful new additions! Thank you for all that you do for our pet community Pet Rescue! It’s one of the toughest jobs that Beau and staff don’t get nearly enough appreciation for or help. They also try to help sick and injured pets when they can and try their best to give everyone a second chance at love. I have even had one of my bird dogs escape my yard once when I was on vacation. A kind citizen found her chasing the seagulls and they called HPD because her ID fell off. The cop thankfully took her to pet Rescue and Beau contacted me(she’s microchipped) then kept her safe until I returned home. Nobody and no facility is perfect. There is always room for improvement, but in the 20 years that I have helped them and they’ve helped me, they’ve been pretty great. Be kind, adopt and volunteer!

Very attentive staff, animals are so well kept, many options for own pets. Love the thrift store. They donate pet food if you are in need. Such a good place. We go at least once a week.

Some of the dogs are shivering in convulsions on cold concrete. They need a dog bed. I know that increases laundry duty, but it's a worthy cause. I asked if I could volunteer to help one dog get what she needed but I was turned down and told it would be taken care of. The next time I was in she had a thin blanket rolled up in the corner.

I have had good experiences with the Hermiston pet rescue. I adopted my kitty here over a year ago and she is the sweetest Demon! She is a demon cat and I also love her very much! Spicy kitty.
Also, my sweet little doggie was brought in and Beau was nice to respond to my email to them in regard to ensuring that she was there, safe and the time I could pick her up.
I am thankful that we have this service available to not only Hermiston but the surrounding towns as well.

I've called SEVERAL times for help for neighbors filthy kennel. They have not done anything or even replied. DO NOT GIVE THEM MONEY. PLUS I CALLED ONCE FOR A STRAY DOG, AND THEY REFUSED TO HELP. Their website says call immediately if you see stray dogs..LIARS!! ADDED APRIL 9TH; THEY STILL HAVEN'T HELPED OR REPLIED. NEIGHBORS DOG KENNEL IS SAD .

We decided to surrender two of our cats because they're outdoor cats, and even though theyre great with people (kids too!), they were being too aggressive toward other cats. We tried rehoming them, so this was our last resort. The woman who took their information and got them settled was very kind, and she kept calm even though the moment that place opened, the phone went crazy and the parking lot filled up. I hope Bandit (NM) and Shadow (SF) find a new place to hunt critters and give loves to their peeps.

Glad our town has this service but it's turning into a "for-profit" style business. Let's say you are in an accident and In the hospital for a week...they're gonna turn around and sell your beloved animal back to you or if you can't afford the storage fee, they're gonna put it up for "adoption " and sell it to someone else. I understand, they need to give it a rabies shot, but I know my dog don't eat no $20 a day in food. They say they have to get costs from somewhere but that is what all the government grants are for. If they aren't covering your expenses than put in the time and apply for more there are plenty out there you just have to apply. You can be as greedy with the gov as you want and we are still paying it with our taxes.
