Staff stayed open while we didn't find what we wanted, but we found many reasons to return to the store.

The worst customer service imaginable! So bad, that when calling other hobby stores they knew exactly the person responsible. Here is the story : I purchased a lexan body that they instructed would fit my car. Upon inspection it was the wrong one. A week later I returned with the receipt and part but I was missing the car board wrapping to the bag. Both employees started yelling at me after seeing me upset when they refused to refund or exchange my part. Mind you, I have spent 1500 dollars in this store in last 6 months and when I told them I lost the tinny piece of packaging they told me tough luck.. this was a semantic to not honor the return, also a joke to have the general manager tell you they don’t care and won’t help.. I would advise you never to purchase anything from this place.. I have other stories where they sold me stuff that broke and when I went in they shrugged their shoulders and told me to buy new stuff to replace… I can’t believe how horrible this places customer service can be when they operate in a very niche industry..Also shop online. You can find better prices.. and Amazon won’t tell you they won’t honor your return!

The only reason anybody would ever go to a brick and mortar store these days is for the customer service. To see someone face to face and have a human experience. Don’t bother doing that here. The employees here are rude, condescending and provide terrible advice. They get frustrated when you ask them questions, and tell you how if you buy something they won’t take it back because it’s not a specific part number. Why would I ever go pay a brick and mortar premium for such lousy customer service.

Over the years I have made many purchases at hobby town. Most recent was December. Was having some issues with a battery. Took it in to get it checked. Very helpful and great communication. Thank you for a great experience and thank you for all the information about batteries. Will definitely be back soon. Thanks again

This is the worst hobby shop in all of Portland. Trying to Return A product with receipt in original you’ll have to wait a week or two for the correct person to come in. I will never shop at the store or recommended to anybody

Went there to purchase an RC car to enjoy with my kids at the beach. I wanted the best they had, so I bought an Arrma Outkast 8s. I had to plead with them to let me look at it(before i bought). They said they only do that for serious buyers only. Well, that's what I was! So, after arguing a little bit, they finally took off the shelf and let me look at it.Then, in my ignorance, i purchased 6 batteries that they recommended. They were all 5200 50c 3s batteries. They sold me what they had in stock vs. recommending a battery that will actually run the car at its full potential. I was taken advantage of, and the entire experience was completely unprofessional.Buyer beware!

I drove in from Hillsboro to return a $14 item and pick up another slot car. I was told No returns because the owner was not there. Three guy’s working and none of them are qualified to except a return. The big dude with long dreads was kinda rude. I’ve spent over a grand in this store last year, I’ll Never be back.

Brian was extremely rude. He was blatantly and unapologetically mean to myself and my husband, the customers in front of us, and presumably his manager. Statements included yelling “Declined!” to a customer after he ran his card, “I don’t like kids” in reference to me holding my 9 month old daughter (none of us had even spoken to him yet) and “They were supposed to come get it last night!” which was completely and entirely false. On another note, the entire store was plastered with angry signs telling you not to do this, that, and the other.Overall I got the impression this store is ran by very passive (and not-so-passive) aggressive people. All this stuff is cheaper on Amazon anyway.I’ll be back if I ever need a good verbal beat-down.

I spent hundreds of dollars at this place for many, many years. Today, the old lady who worked there told me and my son, who is 8, not to touch the train , which they had it on display fully functional riding on the track. We came to BUY a train set for a town that my 8-year-old and I had put together. There were no signs that said do not touch or resticted area. Looks like I'm taking my business to your competitor.

first and last time in. A worker was saying I was weird for not saying hello when I first entered I have a lot of social anxiety so I don't tend to talk to people I don't know. And hearing that from across the store makes me never want to return. I don't understand why anyone would be that rude for no reason. if you want to go to a hobbytown go to the one in Wilsonville
