“We love Parallell Worlds Bookshop! Intimate space, superbly curated, with such friendly and helpful staff. I assure you that you will find your perfect sci fi book here. Definitely endorse supporting this local gem.”

7241 SE Milwaukie Ave, Portland“Best bookstore in Portland! Fun and comfortable to wander around, and the book recommendations I received were spot-on.They also have stacks of books with similar themes, which is just a fun way to find something new.”
“A small and favorite spot of our family. Great for graphic novels! So many inclusive works, and a lovely reading nook for kiddos to have a quiet spot before picking something to take home. They also offer subscription boxes for monthly comics, but no discount on purchases with those. Staff are friendly and helpful with recommendations! We also love the illustrations done of staff (and Nick drew them)!”
“I love Maggie Mae’s! This bookstore has a great selection and amazing staff! They put on so many fun events for the community! If you haven’t visited before, I highly recommend going!”
“Solid bookstore and friendly owner. Didn't find what I was looking for here yet appreciated the books and selection that he offered. Heaps of books and worth checking out if in the area.”
“I used to go to Powell’s but I recently switched to Broadway books after hearing Anne Patchett rave about them :) They have a smaller collection and they’re a bit more expensive but I enjoy the experience more and the lovely employees are always up to chat about books. It’s a heavenly escape from the real world when I get to wander their books. They happily special order anything they don’t have in stock and I always see lots of regulars coming in for their orders. Today I overheard people chatting about the everybody reads book and I was happy to join the conversation. This is what I imagine a bookshop should be. Many thanks to Broadway books.”
“After hours of desperately searching for a particular bag that was sold out everywhere, I came across Ruby Press’s website. I found the color I wanted (which felt like a small miracle), and quickly checked Google Maps to ensure the legitimacy of the storefront. I placed my order, and my bag arrived in perfect condition 3 days later. As a Hawai’i resident, that shipping time is faster than Amazon Prime! There was also a handwritten note enclosed with my purchase, thanking me for shopping small. Personal touches are what set these kind of shops apart from major retailers and supergiants like Amazon, and make me feel like the money I’m spending goes to real people who are making their own dreams a reality. Thanks Ruby Press! I’ll be sure to stop by in person if I am ever in town — until then, I’ll see you online.”
“This is such a fun store! The owners really have quite the collection on their hands. If you have an hour or so to spare you should pop in here sometime. You’ll definitely want to give yourself some time to really look around and explore. Tightly packed with stories and endless knowledge, you’ll find yourself getting lost in this tiny place.”
“I am not a reader, but my kids are, so every time i go to Powells, i feel welcome, and it does interest me to read more and start to, but i am not pushing it yet. But it's getting better. The other reason i love Powells employee here are just really nice, and they do care about what you need and what you're looking for. I hope they can continue that genuine concern and care for all their customers. I highly recommend powells and don't be shy to bring your young ones.”
“This is the best occult book store I’ve have ever been in. Deep stuff, less airy fairy fluff. They also are very fair with offers on your collectable occult books that need a new home. Can’t recommend enough.”
“Despite the small space, I think I bought more books here than I have at any bookstore I've been to in many years. Mitch's curation is just spectacular for my tastes. Great if you're interested in literature, philosophy, and art.”
“I really appreciate a local business who values all customers, new and old!!Nearly Read Books gives a fair price for used books that you sell and has a huge selection of paper backs neatly arranged, almost up to the ceiling! All kinds of books!!You get a credit towards your used books you buy, and you can get a 30% discount off new books...which the balance is paid in cash. The owner, Kelly, is warm and friendly!”
“I am so grateful for this place, so many memories. The website is wonderful, but I have to say that there is so much more to see in the store. It's magical ✨️.. Thank you ?”
“Great Bible Book Store. Unfortunately, the last truly Christian bookstore in the Portland, OR, area. The staff are wonderful and friendly. They are helpful and knowledgeable. I wish there were closer options since I live about 45 minutes away, but I'll be back again in the future.”
“Loved it. As a English, German, French speaker, I appreciate that books in all languages are sorted into the shelves. I think there was good selection of Spanish and Italian and a smattering of other languages throughout. Powell's has its place, but there's nothing like a bookstore with the vibes of a great uncle's library, the one he's been assembling books since 1937.”
“A delight. I trust the staff's recommendations; they’re so knowledgeable about the material, and it’s curated beautifully. Get a punch card: you’ll be coming back.”
“This place is great. Super low cost books and even lower cost children's books. Most books are in great condition. Very organized layout and staff is friendly and helpful.”

OR-212, Clackamas“Others have spoken about the selection of products and the customer service; I'll speak about the preview booths. For starters, as an FYI, paper towels for cleaning up are located at the back of the arcade to the right of the entrance, if you're feeling like you're going to need them, grab what you need before going in to a booth because there aren't any in the booths themselves- not a problem just know that. Yeah, there CAN be creepers who loiter and try to open doors even though the store has plenty of signage- pretty typical of adult arcades honestly. That being said, it seems as though some of the creeps periodically mess with the locks so they won't work - make sure yours works. The booths are big and relatively clean. The booths are equipped with upholstered bench seats (like a car or restaurant booth seats); though large the vinyl upholstery is old and cracking - could certainly use an upgrade. The video players could use an upgrade as well, the brightness on the screen is pretty high and washes out a lot of the color in the videos. Comparatively small, but diverse selection of videos.”

Very excellent customer service, good and large selection of literature in Russian. Good prices. I recommend this bookstore.I first shopped at this store in 2008 and have continued to buy books here periodically ever since. I order online and receive books by mail. “I have been here on multiple occasions and it's been a perfect experience. It's well organized and priced exceptionally well compared to other used book store stores. She had a wonderful Star Trek and dungeons and dragons Novel collection. Miss 1 start Eugenia sounds like a monster and probably needs to get some. Chill out lady. Happy book shopping friends!”
“So much fun! An amazingly library-like collection of books in its meticulous completeness! Magazines, other printed materials and books, books, books, but organized in a tidy living/reading room that would grace any Victorian manse. He had cookbooks going back to the late 18th century. We found a fascinating copy of a 19th century guide to housekeeping that ranged from cooking and cleaning to tonic and tincture making and advise... which... shockingly given its age... proclaimed the health risks of smoking and included a picture of blackened lungs of a smoker after autopsy for effect! 150 years ago and people knew this? I guess it will take us another 100 years then to finally accept that climate change is real ...”

15 SE 22nd Ave, Portland“Had no idea this existed until we randomly walked by it. Such a cool store! The books that the owner carefully selects are outstanding and space is fun. Highly recommend.”
“This is my favorite place! Great selection of books, especially for being a little shop. Lots of cute gifty-type stuff too, I’ve been here before every major holiday/birthday since I’ve moved to Oregon City.Plus you can get an excellent coffee/tea and a delightful vegan scone while you’re there.”
“I love how I feel exploring this shop because it elicits a sense of nostalgia for the quaint bookstores of yesteryear. Monograph Bookwerks offers an expertly-curated collection of books, art, vintage ephemera and gift items. The owner has done a remarkable job displaying product in creative vignettes throughout the store, with richly hued books standing like sentinels of history, art, literature and culture. This environment really is my happy place. I love the scent of aged paper and polished wood. I feel inspired by the thousands of voices and ideas presented on the pages here, and I can't imagine a world where places like this don't exist. Monograph Bookwerks is located in a popular area of NE Alberta, brimming with fascinating retail shops, restaurants and coffee shops. Street parking can be a bit difficult on weekends and evenings, but visitors will be far more likely to find spaces if they venture down the side streets. Look for the brightly colored arrow proclaiming "Books," pointing to the ivy-covered shop on the corner. It's so important to shop small and local, and to support the business owners who pour themselves into creating enchanting establishments like this. So take a moment out of your busy life to explore this delightful corner of Portland. Hopefully you'll enjoy your visits just as much as I do.”
“This place is a hidden gem! I thought it was going to be small but they have multiple rooms. Lots of children's books, classics, educational materials, beautiful vintage books, history, and some Christian as well. The owner Eli is very nice and really knows his stuff! He was telling me about all sorts of vintage children's authors. Overall this is a great place to spend bookish time and keep your money local. Happy reading!”
“I was visiting Portland and heard about this store from a friend and had a really fun time looking at comics and chatting with the owner about books. Great place and will for sure be back next time I’m in town!”
“Its the best used book store around the owners are the nicest people they have been around a while and know so much plus they give incredible value for used books so you can buy new ones with the store credit (and a very small fee for new purchases which is change ur paying for each book) i can't imagine Powells ever doing something so generous”
“Such a beautiful two-story bookstore nestled into Clackamas Town center Mall which exists in 2024 is a delight to experience. Really enjoyed the vinyl LP record section.”
“Extremely cool book shop, one of the few I hadn't visited yet living here for over 20 years. My only regret is that I didn't find this place sooner! Carries some really powerful classics as well as unique and outstanding fresh literature.”
